Basic Info
Disgaea 4, like its predecessors, is a tactical RPG. All player characters act, and then all enemy characters act. Pretty standard stuff.
Stats
HP: Lose these and you can't eat any more sardines.
SP: Used for special skills. Like eating sardines.
ATK: Affects how hard you can hit things with sardines.
DEF: Affects how much damage you take when hit by sardines. Subtractive.
INT: Like ATK, but for magic.
RES: Like DEF, but for magic.
HIT: Affects the chance you will actually hit with sardines.
SPD: Affects the chance you can evade sardines. Why would you want to do that?
Status
Forget: Cannot use skills.
Poison: Take 10%? mHP damage each turn. Can be fatal.
Paralyze: Cannot move.
Amnesia: I think this lowers EXP gain or something.
Deprave: Not sure what this does. No one has it anyway.
Formulas
Damage (Attack command) = (2 * ATK - DEF) / 5
Damage (specials) = 1.5 * (2 * offense_stat * skill_mult - defense_stat) * skill_upgrade_mult / 5
offense_stat is the stat the weapon uses for damage for physical skills or INT for magical skills. Most weapons use ATK here. The exceptions are bows ((ATK+HIT)/2), fists ((ATK+SPD)/2), andguns ((HIT+SPD)/2).
defense_stat is DEF for physical attacks and RES for magic attacks.
skill_mult is the base multiplier of the skill. This does not change with upgrades.
skill_upgrade_mult is the upgrade multiplier of the skill. This changes upon upgrades but does not vary by skill except for spells, which have lower values.
Accuracy (front) = 1.2 * HIT / SPD
Accuracy (side) = 1.5 * HIT / SPD [lower bound of 0.4]
Accuracy (back) = 2 * HIT / SPD [lower bound of 0.8]
Weapons and Armor
Shop rank is taken at 10, which corresponds to rank 28 equipment, I believe. All storebought equipment is allowed, but the default setup will be three armors and a weapon for everyone.
Levels, Mana, and Skills
Levels are taken at 100. The average level of my party at the end of the game was just below that, but Desco learns her final skill at level 100 so I just used that.
Mana is gained upon killing an enemy and is used for learning evilities and learning and boosting skills. I assume a pool of 7000 mana to use on boosting skills.
Evilities are passive skills. All characters start with an innate, unmovable evility. Humans can equip one additional evility while monsters can equip two. Only the character unique ones are listed.

Durabilities are taken against attacks that have a 2.0 skill_upgrade_mult and do 40% damage to average HP and average defense.
Note that there a good number of archers and gunners in the last few maps, so the HIT average might be a bit high because of it.
Other Notes
Flonne can only be gained by preordering the game, so I listed averages that don't include her.
Monsters can use Magichange when adjacent to an ally. The monster becomes the ally's weapon with stats based on their base stats or the weapon stats, whichever is higher. The innate, unmovable evility and the monster's magichange skills are then available to the ally.
