RPGDL 2012 Season 3 Nominations

With Plot POWAH in its final week, it's time again for a CK DL season!

The Rules are as follows.

1. Please nom 4 to 6 characters in each division (Godlike, Heavy, Middle, Light)
2. Nom an even number of characters in each division.
3. Use characters from games on the Ranked List.  Keep in mind any valid dueller from those games, be they PCs, temps, bosses, or classes, are viable noms in CK DL, barring specific duellers listed as Bluelike.
4. Genocide Heart (SaGa Frontier) is not eligible to return this season.  Similarly, Jeremy Non (Wild ARMs 4), Snow Villiers (Final Fantasy XIII), and Riki (SaGa Frontier) have automatic bids this season as returning champions in the next division up and need not be nommed.

Otherwise, get to nommin', and if you're uncertain on character divisions try to poke folks here or in chat if looking through old topics doesn't give you any good ideas.

Atomos may be too good for Godlike offhand? (>2PCHP damage off >2x average speed and ~2PC durability feels like it outslugs virtually everything.) Depends on where CK wants to draw the line there.

Well, really depends. Atomos borders on Bluelike, it's true, and its spoilability is a lot more limited than, say, GH. Really feels like a "magic immunity, HP buffers or bust" case, but if EBC Zophar was considered rankable... Granted, Atomos feels better off a straight glance.

Aht is also tricky, since she ranges from borderline Middle/Heavy to borderline Light/Middle depending on how you view traps and aftergame skills. Also, I don't think Meru ever got slapped away from Middle in the DL, and she belongs in the division anyway.

Thanatos in Godlike? Man, he's gonna get his ass reamed so hard. I remember him having a ton of deadly status, which mean he's a bane for Heavy PCs, but the offense was like in the realm of 4HKO damage - so I guess he pretty much rides the border like a town bicycle. Also, not sure how I feel about Anise in Light. She's definitely a pretty danged bad Middle, but that regen off okay durability and being able to hit both defenses about equally hard (even if it's a borderline 3-4HKO) are likely to cause Lights to fall into screaming fits.

I'm pretty against nomming Ghost Vinsfeld. He's a superboss, and IIRC he's pretty dumb (less -completely- dumb than some superbosses, so probably not Bluelike or anything, but still "OHKO average off high speed and good durability") unless you have anti-undead stuff. He also has no stat topic entry.

[Nephrite]

He's kind of a magic tank, which helps him somewhat. The damage is -so bad- though...

Gordon can hang in Middle for what it's worth. Not a good one, but he's somewhat better than Etna and she proved herself worthy of Middle.

also it's a good thing he is middle because otherwise you'd be nomming hector in two different divisions, which is an overstepping of your presidential authority and could tarnish your legacy

Thanatos is a low Godlike at best, but for obscureish duelers of unclear respect I am firmly of the opinion they should be stuck in the higher possible division, or otherwise they can potentially ruin a season by roflstomping everything.  Moreover, Thantos gets wins in Godlike - he is an extreme tank unless you are packing Holy damage (I have grinded down Thanatos with nothing but physicals.  It takes forever.), he's got status, and RC's writeup (if not Nephrite's) claims he can 2HKO MP if necessary.  But even ignoring the MP-drain healers option, Pygmus Glare is immuned rarely and he's a tank, so he just chews on Heavy PCs who don't have Holy.

I'm fine with replacing Anise.

Yeah, you pretty much don't beat him as a PC if you're not a status-immune healer with inane resource depth (Momo, Demi and Nina4 send their regards. Funnily, these three -also- spoil the MP draining) at the very least. So it makes sense. I guess he can hang around the division, since the elemental resistances and defenses eke him above the likes of Kato at least. It's funny to have a Godlike who wrecks, say, Tir, but serves as a chewtoy for Sara, anyway!
