S.S.H - Battle 3+2 (Lufia 2) vs Ailsean - Subaqueous Angels of Chaos (Final Fantasy 1) - Of all the great tracks Ailsean has done...why Subaqueous Angels? Not one of his better remixes, in my opinion. The Lufia track was catchy enough.

Ooooh, close. I like both a lot. Paradoxically, the tiebreaker in the case of two good remixes shall still be quality of the original piece: I like the Zeromus battle theme better on its own, so I'm more impressed with the work in silent ensemble.

Ugh, the percussion in the Lufia 2 piece is bland and repetitive. This single-handedly knocks the track way down. That said, Angels of Chaos is... okay but nothing more as a remix. Actually like Kaijin's remix of the same piece earlier, despite a bit more technical skill here.

I wanted to like Onion Warriors, really I did. I love the track it's based off of, I don't mind idling on the FF3 world map just so I can listen to it a bit longer. But this is just the FF3 track with singing overtop of it, which... is just lazy and bad. So, Screw IOSYS.

This one is a decent match, and I like the silent ensemble. Zeromus, never much of a fan, but this is a good take on it. Just not good enough.

This remix doesn't disappoint, either! Capital City is good but outmatched.

If it were the other Huge Game Table from the same album this might be flipped, but...hard to vote against Silver Will. Even if this isn't even the best Silver Will version in the contest!
S.S.H - Battle 3+2 (Lufia 2) vs Ailsean - Subaqueous Angels of Chaos (Final Fantasy 1): It's weird when voting for SSH feels weak, but this pool is bloody amazing.

Talaysen: Yeah, but DECEITFUL WINGS is in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS in a big wall o' text. Clearly it must be referring to that! Well that explains why the remix didn't sound much like the "original."
Anyway going back and listening to the AI soundtrack for the first time in a long while, I see that the original Deceitful Wings wasn't even that good originally - I must have been thinking of something else anyway that I'd liked from the AI soundtrack. (Though the actual DECEITFUL WINGS Deceitful Wings remix is pretty decent.)

Giant Robot Bonanza vs Distant Worlds - Anything associated with Buriki Daioh auto-fails.
Baroque Netherworld vs Onion Warriors - I have little to no idea what was supposed to be going on in Baroque, but if it was supposed to be a story-track it failed miserably and if it wasn't it failed miserably at having anything resembling a consistent melody. Meanwhile: More horrific singing. NYARGH.
Stomp the Summer Sky vs Vector Point Engineering Water Buffalo - Both are pleasant enough... the earthbound one somewhat surprising in this regard... but Sky is a bit moreso, I believe.

Neverending Adventure (Rush's Theme) vs Endless History (The Morning Grow) - I guess Neverending is the track for you IF YOU LIKE NEVERENDING REPETITIVE LYRICS. Fortunately Ys is here to save the day with a high-quality song.
Through the Snowy Mountain ~ Rebel Army Theme vs The Capital City of Flowers in the Sky - These are both nice. I'm going with Snowy here because I already voted for a toho track just before.
Silver Will vs Huge Game Table (Ver-2) - Not that it really matters, but Huge Table felt like it was better here anyway.
Battle 3+2 vs Subaqueous Angels of Chaos - And we go out with some more decent tracks. I think Angels is a bit too slow for my tastes, so.
