Zophar (Lunar:EBC) vs Yuri Volte Hyuga (SHs) - Yuri... can handle a Heavy boss, is my kneejerk.

Zero (MMXCM) vs Asellus (Saga) - I'm kneejerking her as faster, which makes Zero have a very hard time handling the fight. The durability boost+Deflect should tilt things for Asellus well enough, although it's still a good fight.

Flay Gunnar (MK) vs Nash Rumack (Lunar:SSSC) - So many statuses.

Middle:

Flay Gunnar (MK) vs Nash Rumack (Lunar:SSSC)

Light:

Garet (GS) vs Mia Ausa (Lunar:SSSC) - Halves fire (the only damage garet has), is faster (88% > 79% average) and at worst, KO's the same turn as Garet.

This is only if you take TB speed completely literally. If you do, Alena is 200%+speed, and Peco is 25% speed. The most common method of taking TB speed is to use standard deviations compared to average, and Mia is 1.2 SDs below average, and Garet is 0.86 SDs below average. You don't have to use this method, but sure beats taking the TB numbers literally.

O_o

That's sort of a solution without a problem. I mean for one thing, it really doesn't matter if someone is 2000%+ tb speed, it's still just turn speed. It seems very.... uneven to treat every other stat average as a literal numeric median, but then throw out speed as a literal average, and artificially reinterpret and construe it under a novel set of rules.

We don't interpret stats the same way though James.

Take Pokemon and WA5 defense as an example. Pokemon is a division system so % of average makes sense. WA5 defense is subtractive so % of average makes no sense at all. Pokemon defense is also vastly more potent than WA5 defense.

Turn based standard deviations are typically used because they make more sense than straight up % based stuff. The idea is to make the speed 'spread' equal between TB games, because for example a cast with 50,40,35 speed is functionally equal to a cast with 20,10,5 speed. But by %'s the 5 speed in that second one would be a whole lot slower than the 35 in the first example, which makes little to no sense.

Zophar (Lunar:EBC) vs Yuri Volte Hyuga (SHs): Boom

Heavy:

Zero (MMXCM) vs Asellus (Saga): Not sure here.

Middle:
Flay Gunnar (MK) vs Nash Rumack (Lunar:SSSC): Aroma Material works for me.

Games that use smaller numbers tend to have lower stat spreads anyways, and they end up really noticeable when they don't.

Garet (GS) vs Mia Ausa (Lunar:SSSC) - Garet resists Mia's best damage and debuffs defense if Mia uses Ice Shell.  They're dealing similar damage and have roughly the same speed but Garet has more HPs.
