I gave Jordan the finger halfway through book 9. I vaguely remember being somewhat entertained during books 4, 5 and 6, and miraculously survived (albeit painfully) books 7 & 8. But after that I simply couldn't be bothered anymore.
I don't even remember the reason, all this having happened a very long time ago. Don't know exactly, you'd have to check to see when book 9 was released. Around that time anyway.

Other than that, the only fantasy I'd now even consider finish reading would be ASOIAF. But everyone knows that's never ever going to happen since Martin loves his conventions and blueberry pie (or whatever) too much to be bothered to pick up a pen and piece of paper (or typewriter, or pc).

To go back to a conversation I had with Grefter;

Bouke - "Btw is Martin ever going to finish Dance?"
The Great - "Fuck no."

Inglourious Basterds premiered last Thursday in Cinema's here in Holland. Needs to check my schedule to see when I can go watch it. Curse myself and my evening workhours.

Other than that, the last couple of DVD's I watched during the last two weeks are among others:

Andrei Tarkovsky - Nostalgia (seen most of his movies now. Tarkovsky was a cinema Giant.)

Krzystof Kieslowski - Dekalog (the first 3 episodes. Also loved his Three Colours trilogie and La Double Vie de veronique)

Wojciech Has - The Saragossa Manuscript (Mr Bongo films 182 minutes version. Fucking awesome)

Michael Haneke - La Pianiste (Isabelle Huppert > most. Other then that, yay for lots of Schubert. Very disturbing film, but pales in comparison in that particular aspect to dun dun dun)

Pier Paolo Pasolini - Salo. The 2008 BFI DVD version. (or rather a scholarly view on Fascism. Funny that I found more links to Dante rather then  to Sade. Brilliantly filmed, but I do confess to being grossed out during some of the shit eating scenes =/)

Last book I finished was Jacques le Fataliste et son maitre, by Denis Diderot.
It's an anti-novel in the same vein as Don Guijote, albeit a lot shorter (thankfully. One can only handle so much 1000+ pgs. tomes).
Diderot of course, was a famous 18th century French novelist and philosopher.

Last anime seen was Paprika, by Satoshi Kon. Tokyo Godfathers is the only one I haven't seen yet.
I really should though...

I've also been on a Myazaki spree a little while back. In rather quick succession I saw Cogliostro, Nausicaa, Laputa, Kiki, Totoro, Mononoke, Howl and Spirited.

Gave up on WOT many moons ago. Book 9 was the lastest one back then. Too bad he died though.
I fear for George R. R. Martin's health also.

Currently reading;

-Leo Tolstoj : Anna Karenina
-Ludovico Aristo : Orlando Furioso 2nd part (Canto 26)
-Bible (Old Testament, right after Jozua)

Just finished;

-Lots of Oscar Wilde (notably Importance Of Being Ernest, Dorian Gray, House Of pomegranades collection and pretty much all the rest of his short stories,)
-Marcel Proust A la recherche du temps perdu; first four books (next up; The Captive & The Fugitive)
-Boethius: Consolation of philosophy
-Orlando Furioso 1st part (D'uh)
-Dostoyevski: Crime & Punishment

And a bunch of graphic novels including Watchmen, V, Sin City, Dark Knight Returns & Strikes Again, Sandman and the first 8 volumes of Cerebus. Yay.

Plus lot's of Bowie in general lately, plus Led Zeppelin I, II, III, IV and most stuff of The Free.
Last metal cd I remember listening to was Enslaved - Ruun, and Isis - Oceanic. How odd of me.
