Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
« on: December 20, 2007, 02:23:11 AM »
For now I'm just doing Soma's boss form. I'll get to the insanely flexible PC form later.

(Damages tested on Julius unless stated otherwise)

Soma Cruz (Boss)
Note: His two forms are chained.
Form 1
HP: ~1118 (26 whips)
Speed: Attacks about every 3 seconds.
Weakness: Holy
Resist: ?
Attacks:
Great Axe Armor Soul - 150 (Multi-Target) (140 to Alucard)
Gyaibon Soul - 105 (95 to Alucard) (Automatic attack each turn without costing a turn)
Teleport: Teleports to another point in the room. (Doesn't cost a turn, and in game always starts his turn)
-------------------
Form 2
HP: ~4988 (116 whips)
Speed: Attacks about every 4-5 seconds.
Weakness: Holy
Resist: ?
Aguni Soul - 154 (Fire) (Multi-Target)
Worm Thing - 129*3 (Shoots five worms, three would be about the average that hit the target, one would be about the most to hit other targets) (Multi-Target)
Abaddon Soul - 90 (Averages 2-4 hits on each target) (Multi-Target)
Harpy Soul - 65*2

Combos:
Worm Thing -> Harpy Soul -> Aguni Soul - 671 damage (283 to non-targeted opponents)

Level faced at: 41
HP: 600
Damage:
Julius Whip: 43 (Holy?)
Julius Axe: 30 (Holy?)
Julius Holy Water: 21*4 (Holy)
Julius Cross: 21*2 (Holy)
Julius Energy Cross Thing: 75*4 (Holy)
Alucard Sword: 37
Alucard Teleport Slash: 57*2
Alucard Hellfire: 58*3 (Fire)
Yoko Club: 30
Yoko Fireblast: 62*2
Yoko Ice Crystals: 140 (Ice)
Yoko Lightning Balls: 37*9(ish) (Lightning)

Comment: Durability is god damn insane (much better than I remember it). Damage is about 3HKO in first form and 0HKO-2HKO (thanks to his combo) in the second form. Rather slow, but otherwise scary. Godlike without a doubt.

Soma Cruz (PC)
LV: 44
HP: 636
MP: 424
Raw Stats (No equips):
ATK: 15
DEF: 21
STR: 47
CON: 43
INT: 44
LCK: 25

Stats with my equips:
ATK: 65 (+2)
DEF: 69
STR: 50 (+2)
CON: 46
INT: 47
LCK: 25

My equips:
Battle Axe
Orlox's Suit
Tear of Blood

Almaric Sniper
Death
Golem

Abillity Souls:
Balore: Touch screen to shatter blocks. Useless
Malphas: Double jump.
Doppleganger: Be able to switch from two equipment sets using X.
Rahab: Move underwater.
Hippogryph: Be able to endlessly jump.

Comments: I'm holding off on evaluating until I manage to compile a list of all his useful souls.

Edit: Stolen from Infinity's post in a NR topic:
Damage at level 50.

Iron Golem deals ~185.
A Claim Solais physical deals ~110.
Abaddon's damage depends on the size of the target. Malachi take ~50x7, while a smaller target will take 2-4 hits. 200 is probably a good overall guess for Abaddon's damage.
Great Axe Armor (Level 9) deals ~165 damage.
Executioner (Level 3) deals ~195 damage.
Succubus deals ~183
Killer Clown (Level 9) deals ~105
Eryinys deals ~95x2
Mandragora deals ~145
Slaughter deals ~186
Disc Armor (Level 2) deals 65x2

Everything else is pretty bad and not worth mentioning. Also, level 9 Great Axe Armor and Level 2 Disc Armor are probably substantially overlevelled. Iron Golem, at the worst, is dealing averagish damage. If you think Anima can take 15 average damage attacks...then I suppose she has an argument for winning, but that seems pretty absurd to me.

Alright, first off I'm never getting to Soma's PC form most likely, so if anyone wants to take care of that they can go right ahead.

I would like to address one thing about Soma's PC form though. He can technically be completely invincible with the Chaos Ring and Iron Golem soul. The Iron Golem soul makes him completely invulnerable to absolutely everything, and the Chaos Ring gives him insane enough MP regeneration that he will literally never revert unless the enemy somehow takes his MP away by force. In other words, this combination makes it impossible for anyone who doesn't have a move that reduces your MP to zero or prevents you from using spells from beating him. Furthermore, even if you can get his MP to zero, the Chaos Ring would get him ready to be Iron Golem again within a turn or two, so it's pretty futile unless you can OHKO him or can survive a few turns of physicals from Iron Golem (he's restricted to his normal physical as Iron Golem). So, as if the Chaos Ring wasn't bad enough as it was, Soma's completely broken if you let him use it with Iron Golem. The Chaos Ring is pretty hard to get though, so when you combine that with crazy effect it has, I'd say it's probably best to just not let him use it.

I love acting like Soma's going to ever be in the actual DL or something.
