Team Tonfa | Cloud, Chemist, Aika, FFX-2 Songstress
[Floor 5a]
[Materia: Cover(M), Revive(M), All-Barrier(M), Time(M)]
Team Tonfa vs. Guy(L2) and Guy(FE7), Guy (ToTA)- Brake Dance. Good thing for that, as they have serious issues busting past Guy's limit (FAIL) otherwise.
Team Tonfa vs. Kyra, Kary and Karin-
Team Tonfa vs. FF4a Cid, FF7 Cid, Seed- Silent Lake. That shuts down Songstress/Cloud/Aika. I don't thikn they get out of this fight alive.
Team Tonfa vs. Albert Simon, Alex, Albert Serdio
Team Tonfa vs. Sara (BoF1), Serra, PC Sarah (S3), Sarah (ShF1)

Team Rozaila fails, actually. No healing this early. Or any MT, for that matter. Or magic damage. The second fight with the tanks is going to put a hurting on the team. Worse is the buffing fight. They have to commit two non Ephraim PCs to kill Nara (OR she starts breaking out the healing/sacrifice and that is bad news). This gives Lucia/Ricardo time to buff, and Luca can heal. Ephraim is pretty much assured to make it to the boss, and probably Chris.. but that's not nearly enough.

Team Tide fails. Flik puts a serious hurting on the team midfloor, and I doubt they can blitz Dhoul before he splatters the team. (Tidus physical+Dhouly=death).

Anything except Magical Masque and MP Mambo is legal by floor 4 even I'd say. Looking at these floors myself a bit later.

Tide fails. Rozalia passes (First floor Nall makes dying near-impossible, he doesn't NEED healing yet, he's reviving VP-guts-style). Also, I'd allow Jane some item-healing thanks to Mystic.

Tonfa... Not sure how I see Songstress skills... They might not be SL-able, they certainly don't work like normal magic, but they bear a certain resemblance to the Jongleur rune, which I'm pretty sure is shut down by Silent Lake. If Songstress can still dance, then she can fix status problems I'm pretty sure? Need to stat topic this.

EDIT: I'm inclined to just let Songstress Silence Seed before Seed Silences the field. Alternately, Chemist +Cloud's Cover keeps everyone pretty healthy until Seed can be taken out. Tonfa passes.

They're SLable according to Tonfa.

The team has no real way to end the buffing or tank fights quickly, and that will take a bad toll on the team's limited resources. It's a neat setup (Physical BLITZ!), but not a strong duengon team at all.

All three fail. Rozalia's team needs to be better at blitzing to get past the floor with no healing.

Voting on my team first (obvious reasons)

Team Tide | Sasarai (TER), Ephraim, Garnet, Arnaud, Duran
[Floor 3b]
*All ST is MT
Team Tide vs. Nino - Yep.
Team Tide vs. Alakazam and Chansey - After Slow Down, neither become much of a threat. Eph pokes while Arnaud and Duran do whatever to help. Garnet should be able to keep the team healthy.
Team Tide vs. Flik, Viktor, Edge - Unless I am missing something Arnaud outspeeds Flik, MT Slow Downs the enemy team. Garnet gets a follow up turn, puts up MT Shell to reduce the damage. Flik can still Thor Shot, but I don't think its anywhere near the OHKO territory anymore. Plus most of the team is durable to magic. I have enough back up healers that can come in and heal up. Eph pokes and possibly doubles after Slow Down, which is pain.
Team Tide vs. Alma and Nils - MT Slow Down, Garnet puts up MT Shell, Eph eventually lands a crit and overwhlems Alma. High faith might also let spells do some damage, so focusing should do the trick.
Team Tide vs. Dhoulmagus 2 and Tidus (w/ Caladbolg) - I don't think Tidus insta-doubles after Haste thanks to the recharge on it. Arnaud is also faster than everyone on the field, beats Tidus by exactly 1% average. He opens up with MT Slow Down. Tidus does something, Haste or Slow. Both put the field back at square one (technically my team would be 6.25% faster if it matters). Garnet pulls up MT Shell again, Sasarai starts charging Earthquake, and Duran some sort of healing. Dhoulmagus goes after Garnet, but I don't think he'll do enough damage to kill anyone. He probably wants to use Magic in this case anyway since a physical leads to him eating a counter from Eph. Speaking of Eph, he might abstain from attacking himself since doing so leads to a MT counter from Tidus. EQ going off OHKOs Tidus. Arnaud casts Illusion (he can learn it at level 14, I peg floor 3 around early level 20ish, so he's not eating as bad of a penalty) and shuts off Dhoulmagus.

Also, as discussed in chat, not sure how SL = death for Tonfa. Mastered Cover + Chemist lets Cloud soak up a bit more damage. Casting SL means rest of the enemy team has to go physical. Seed's not exactly durable himself, so everytime they attack, they build up Cloud's Limit. A L1 might be enough.

Team Rozalia | Chris, Tidus, Ephraim, Jane, Nall
[Floor 1]
Team Rozalia vs. FF1 Garland and PC Bowser
Team Rozalia vs. Kwanda, Onix, Humphrey and Leo (S3)
Team Rozalia vs. Jogurt, Ramus, Euram Barrows, Big Joe, Gobi, Kelvena
Team Rozalia vs. Luna, Ricardo, Lucia (SH2), Nara
Team Rozalia vs. Boss Lynx, PC Harle and Boss Gafgarion - Ahahahahaha gj Rozalia. Floor 1 is fine and dandy, but not when your -only- source of healing for floor 1 is highly limited MYSTIC BERRIES. Nall doesn't matter, if you're getting back at 1HP with your entire party with non-hypable offense, you're losing horribly, horribly so.

Team Tide | Sasarai (TER), Ephraim, Garnet, Arnaud, Duran
[Floor 3b]
*All ST is MT
Team Tide vs. Nino
Team Tide vs. Alakazam and Chansey
Team Tide vs. Flik, Viktor, Edge
Team Tide vs. Alma and Nils
Team Tide vs. Dhoulmagus 2 and Tidus (w/ Caladbolg) - Not seeing the hype. MT Arnaud debuffs suddenly makes the team very scary. The one potentially tough match gets handled by MT Slow Down, which makes Garnet able to Shell (it's pretty early) and live through Flik. Everything else is pretty trivial, since Tidus fails against Slow Down or Illusion, and Sas OHKOs him with Earthquake anyway.

Team Tonfa | Cloud, Chemist, Aika, FFX-2 Songstress
[Floor 5a]
[Materia: Cover(M), Revive(M), All-Barrier(M), Time(M)]
Team Tonfa vs. Guy(L2) and Guy(FE7), Guy (ToTA) - TotA Guy doesn't OHKO Dancer and that's that.
Team Tonfa vs. Kyra, Kary and Karin - ... uh, guys, you know that Kary doesn't immune sleep and Dancer is faster, right? Karin also doesn't believe in being above average speed nor having strong damage, and Kyra can't -immune- it either. This means Kyra needs to OHKO Dancer, and that's just lol.
Team Tonfa vs. FF4a Cid, FF7 Cid, Seed - Seed SLs... and so what? He can't avoid a Cloud limit if he does so, Cover is stupid now, -and- Chemist still exists. Cids fail at life and just serve as bait to heal the team up once Seed's awesomely fail durability gets him killed.
Team Tonfa vs. Albert Simon, Alex, Albert Serdio - Alex is the only threat here, and HP-1 is ST. Dancer Silences Alex and everything goes awry for them.
Team Tonfa vs. Sara (BoF1), Serra, PC Sarah (S3), Sarah (ShF2) - Dancer makes the PC Sarah-likes emo and Sara against that level of stalling isn't doing anything. I have no idea why are you guys so adamant on Tonfa team losing this floor, it's perfectly built for him.

It doesn't matter if he SLs or not. If he forfeits SL, Cloud gets a buffing game going and the rest of the team just pounds on Seed until he dies, which takes no time because Seed durability sucks ass and he gets 3HKOed by Team Tonfa at worst (YES, HE FAILS THAT HARD). Seed's allies being awful doesn't help either.

Team Rozalia loses. Healing. It's a good thing to have.

Team Tide survives. Barely. Arnaud outspeeds S1 Flik by a very tiny margain...although that likely wouldn't really matter if Flik was faster.

Team Tonfa- Tonfa passes. Songstress skills are borderline SL bait...but...gut says Silent Lake wouldn't get the Dancing. Are they silenceable in game? (Granted, SL covers less than Silence except in S5). Even if it didn't it, I tend to agree that Seed's durability failure doesn't make this match problematic anyways thanks to Chemist.

Team Rozalia:  Loss.  Healing is a good thing to have with teams that need start-up.  Or magic damage.  Or magic in general.  Yeah, this team is NOT good early.  Later, yes.  Not now.

Team Tide:  Hmm...  Loss?  EDIT:  No vote.  I'm actually not sure.  I know Sasarai lives and has Mother Ocean and Rain of Mercy, but...  I'm thinking that Flik gets a turn before Garnet no matter what Arnaud does, and that really screws up Tide's team...  I think.  Then again, I don't remember a lot of mid-game equipment options.

Team Tonga:  Pass.  I can't see anything that'd make him lose (brain hurt).

If people are voting against Tide because of Garnet taking Thunder damage, she's can halve Thunder at that point in trade for some defense.

Team Rozalia fails. Nothing new to add here.

Team Tide and Team Tonfa both pass. SL is not instant Tonfa death, he handles it just fine. And for Tide MT Arnaud debuffs are scaaaary. Anything else to add here has already been covered. Tide squeaks through, Tonfa handles it without overly much problem.

Songstress's dances are probably in a unique class of their own like Peppita and Rind Rinna's. Those aren't blocked by silence (cert on Peppita, as far as I know for Rinna) So yeah I definitely don't see Songstress dances as silencable.

(Edit - oh wait so they are in game!? That makes no sense! Silly FF)

As said though doesn't really matter anyway. Tonfa *does* have other characters.

Actually ... wow Tonfa's team is pretty evil overall >_>

Definite pass for Tonfa.

Scary MT Arnaud buffs sounds yummy for Tide. He passes.

Team Rozalia | Chris, Tidus, Ephraim, Jane, Nall
[Floor 1]
Team Rozalia vs. FF1 Garland and PC Bowser
Team Rozalia vs. Kwanda, Onix, Humphrey and Leo (S3)
Team Rozalia vs. Jogurt, Ramus, Euram Barrows, Big Joe, Gobi, Kelvena
Team Rozalia vs. Luna, Ricardo, Lucia (SH2), Nara
Team Rozalia vs. Boss Lynx, PC Harle and Boss Gafgarion- Forgot how much my team sucks at the start. Still not seeing the no healing thing. On the Jogurt floor the team can just reduce the enemy to Jogurt and buff(Cheer, only if it carries on from fight to fight though) and heal away (Berries) to make the first three rounds trivial.
As for the no magic thing I haven't overlooked it, it was done so on purpose. I went for a stright on Physical theme, so item healings all I got.

Team Tide | Sasarai (TER), Ephraim, Garnet, Arnaud, Duran
[Floor 3b]
*All ST is MT
Team Tide vs. Nino
Team Tide vs. Alakazam and Chansey
Team Tide vs. Flik, Viktor, Edge
Team Tide vs. Alma and Nils
Team Tide vs. Dhoulmagus 2 and Tidus (w/ Caladbolg)- Final fight kills Tide I think. Slow down won't work in this fight as Tidus's turn is stright after and he'll just use hasteaga (Or haste it doesn't matter).
Dhoulmagus's (Hasted) turn is after and he can just take out anyone important to the fight and its pretty much over. A hasted Dhoulmagus is a scary opponent.

Can't vote on Tonfa.

As for the no magic thing I haven't overlooked it, it was done so on purpose. I went for a stright on Physical theme, so item healings all I got.

Few things:
Cheer ends as soon as the fight does.
Items TYPICALLY aren't allowed in the dungeon unless a class or character type is geared towards them (like the FFT Chemist, the only class in FFT that can use items, and FFX's Rikku) or using an item is unique to their skills (Fumas for Edge's Throw).  So...  Jane's not really getting item healing here.  At least, not by my interp.
Round 2 are all physical tanks (albeit slow).  You're taking some serious damage here before you get to the Jogurt fight.  Round 4 will also give you problems with the amount of buffing and regen they can put out, and Ricardo has Arc Cure in a pinch.

You have fairly random 1 HP revival and lots of speed.  Sure, this makes for a good blitzing team later on (Tidus casts Hastega, Chris uses Silent Lake to turn it into a slugfest in your favor)...  But at this point?  Basically no one on your team has anything.

EDIT:  Reduced redundancy.

Jane has Mystic, so she's specifically geared towards items too. Granted, I certainly wouldn't let her use items outside Mystic, and Mystic requires 25 FP (she resets to 0 each fight) so it is still incredibly problematic as your only source of healing.

Maybe.

Dhoulmagus's (Hasted) turn is after and he can just take out anyone important to the fight and its pretty much over.

Dhoulmagus according to the DQ8 stat topic is around average speed. Exact opening turn order should be:

Arnaud (1% faster than Tidus) > Tidus > Garnet (slightly faster than average speed) > Dhoulmagus/Ephraim (possibly faster than Dhoul, but lets assume he is not)/Duran > Sasarai.

After Arnaud casts Slow Down and Tidus casts Haste/Slow, I will still be 6.25% faster. Thus Garnet should definitely see a turn and cast either Protect/Shell depending which type of offense you think is more threatening. Dhoul's not double turning anyone (he gets two actions sure. But 3HKO damage means he shouldn't kill anyone) and Tidus won't get a second turn since Sasarai's EQ blasts him into oblivion.

Its close sure, but Dhoul's being average speed gives me juuuuuuuuust enough breathing room for Garnet to cast something to reduce his incoming damage.
