I don't think I ever voted against Sherach, whereas I voted against Genesis... twice? For two of my favourite songs in the whole contest, but I digress. Sherach is pretty rockin' and I know I was dreading something thoroughly mediocre winning the second half.

Falcom Paunch indeed. Shirach puts up a good fight, but not good enough -- GENESIS just kicks too much ass and rocks too much face. It is an excellent track that stands head-and-shoulders above nearly all of the other songs in this massive competition. Well done, GENESIS.

The contest had enough FF8 music as it was (in that it had Man with a Machine Gun). Seconding lack of Astaroth being bizarre though. Of course, there was a bunch of odd stuff missing, and if not for CK adding Dream of the Shore in a spare slot we'd have lost out on a... quarterfinalist it was?

Would definitely like to see an ordinary one again at some point. Given how much some opinions shifted between this one and the last one, I assume things might well shift again in a year's time. Music opinions seem more fluid than, say, game opinions, where a core top tier (FFT et al.) is pretty much eternally guaranteed to smash all but each other.

This actually gives me an idea, NEB. I am now contemplating running...the Best Minigame EVAR Tourney (of Not So Much Doom). We've had several Best Game Ever tourneys and they tend to turn out the same way, so what the hell, may as well poke fun at those with this (it pretty much would be a joke, given that a lot of minigames tend to...not be very good). Might toss something up in a few days if I get unlazy.
