Nergal vs MOMO- Confuse is no good, XS2 fails in general and I don't think XS3 had the durability to pull this off.
Nergal vs Lucius- Think RES is enough here?

Nergal vs MOMO - Uhmm... I dunno if XS I + II MOMO can avoid getting heal locked, and since that's the only form I know... if this fact is problematic, then I'll remove this vote then.

MOMO vs Lucius - I'm certain about this one, though!

Wondering at Nergal losing to someone who needs Aureola to do more than 12 damage to him in game. And yes, that's using Luce. I don't think anyone gives Lucius anything better than Shine in the DL... which gives him an epic 38HKO (2 damage, folks) against Nergal taken literally. Assuming an average enemy has 10 Res and 45 HP (which might be a little generous?), Lucius would 3HKO them. Even if you scale Nergal down to a third of his HP, he's still soaking up magic like crazy, and 2HKOs with room to spare at 70 Hit.

Lucius, with Shine, is a tad below average on damage against a guy who's only outclassed at magic tanking by freaking Ursula and the Dragon, with lowish HP and evade that isn't all that special.

Now, I think that Nergal over Jill won't be contested too hotly aside from FE10 voters (I might favor Jill there myself), and MOMO has a lot of factors going for her, but I can't stress enough that you pretty much need to see Nergal at under a third PCHP for Lucius to really have a shot.

Bolded part is the problem here.  Don't take PCs vs. bosses literally.  This causes all kinds of problems.

Even if they are from the same game, you shouldn't scale them directly.

Nergal faces things like supports and Filla's Might, which would ramp up Lucius' damage by some 13 points right there for instance, in-game. Also Nergal should be scaled against S weapons, certainly not Shine. The fact that they're not DL legal is irrelevant, we don't scale Ultimecia against DL-legal stats either.

Or, just see Tal.

I also added that whatever the scaling, he's fighting a below average damage dealer with Res that significantly reduces the damage of any magic attack he's facing outside of Aureola and Luna. Whatever, however people scale, but that's still more an effect on HP scaling than his defenses. Now, I guess I see can see "lol subtractive defenses" as an argument, since you can theoretically blow past it with all those big weapons... only Lucius doesn't have one. He's got Shine. Lack of respect for enemy defense stats in FE in general I'll take as an excuse, but that's about the only way I can Lucius, or any magic user, doing any sort of real damage.

I know I've got higher respect for FE boss stats in general than probably most people, if not pretty much everyone, but I don't see giving him credit for mocking most magic as being too Psyduck.

No, Lucius has Luce/Aureola when he fights Nergal in-game. That's how we scale him, even if we don't give him those in the DL. Nergal doesn't really mock those, not when Dragon has 10 -more- Res and is still perfectly beatable with Nino if that's how you roll. Reduces, sure (although not that much to me because of Filla's Might), but he's not making Lucius anywhere near tink.

Meh... I can live with that, I guess. Probably better to not start another big FE "discussion" here, just the way FE bosses tend to get written off by some people tends to irk me. Depends on how you see what affecting HP and how good defenses look, can't really argue against that effectively.
