I've been wading through this game (the fact that I sent it to Jo'ou Ranbu reminded me that it existed) because I was curious about a couple things. I heard that Royce and Phacia were made for the remake only, and I wanted to see how Xenobia functioned. Also, I wanted to see if the hype regarding Laike's Coup de Grace was true.
Levels were taken at 100,000 EXP. Levels vary from character to character, but they are pretty minor, since stat gains are really pretty insignificant in this game. Alex was the only character to get three attacks in the game for me. If anyone knows whether someone gets another hit at a higher level (well, one that's reasonably close to these levels), feel free to tell me. Very little in this game is dependent on levels alone, so I could probably figure out the damage without having to do much work. Tests were done on some relatively weak endgame enemies.
In this game, physicals own magic so badly it isn't funny. Magic is great for taking out randoms, but for bosses, mages often come short. Alex and Kyle do most of the dirty work (well, the same can be said of Lunar: SSSC, but this is a more extreme case), and Mia and Nash generally end up doing squat in comparison.

Comments: In this form, Alex would trade element halving, minor regeneration, and full healing for higher damage, more speed, more MP to work with (though he generally doesn't have spells that are as good as the SSSC Dragon spells or Sword Dance), and better durability in general. It's a fair trade.

Comments: Oh, shit. Look at that. It's speed. Whoda thunk. Kyle isn't so slow in this game, and he has decent damage off the bat in Sybillium. Unfortunately, he only has two shots of this, so he might have some problems with healers and such. A big downside is his atrocious magic defense. In game, he still takes damage that the rest of the cast basically nulls. It's bad.

Magic Box (7 MP): Silence. It's hard to tell the hit rate, because there's no icon that shows whether it was effective or not. Some endgame enemies use magic, and they seem to stop using it after the spell is cast, but I still don't know what its hit rate is. Seems fairly consistent to me.

Comments: She's a strange case. She has better damage, but it's still nothing special. Her silence spell seems pretty accurate, and she can play the Sleep + Cascade Litany game a lot.
