The anime flood continues. As always,


Tenchi Muyo is a "Strategy" RPG, and a couple things aren't completely clear about it. Stat growth is kinda wonky sometimes, so I went with what I got. I tested damage out at different strength levels, and it doesn't really make a difference. HP is always the same, as far as I know.

Characters in the game all have ki, and every attack in the game costs ki to use. Characters start out with four ki at the beginning of battles, and they get two ki for every turn they get. Upon reaching 8 ki, certain characters can morph, which gives them stat boosts and use of stronger attacks, meaning good funtime happiness for all (that's actually a lie, since some people can't morph). Morphing takes a turn, and morphed characters still have 8 ki. However, they do not get any ki during their turns (normal characters get two).

That's pretty much it. I assumed level 8 for simplicity's sake, even though a lot of people won't reach that level with Ryoko (or anyone).

Speed:
The game is a bit of a bitch about speed, forgoing any sort of speed stat, so I cried for about three hours, then I tested some things. This is against some enemies in the final stretch of the game.

Yukinonou: Somewhat regular doubleturns.
Ryo-ohki, Kamidake, Mizuki (not sure who's faster): Trades turns, occasional double turns.
Ryoko, Ayeka, Sasami, Azaka: Trades Turns
Tenchi, Mihoshi, Washu: Gets doubled off the bat, then doubled on occasion.
Katsuhito: Doubled off the bat, then doubled with regularity.

Morphed forms may be faster, but fuck it.
