More specifically, there was a combination of a bunch of older problems due to server issues(Searches, for instance, had been broken for over a year.) and some odd new problems(One full topic simply winked out of existance.).

It seemed like a good idea.

Moving my concerns voiced in another social topic here:

-Seconding Super on the posts per page issue. Much hate for 15 as the default.
-I'd love if we could increase the sig limits, it was much sadness to discover I couldn't copy my old one over here.
-The 8) and ;) smilies should be done away with or recoded if at all possible, since the character combinations they use are simply too common. Stat topics in particular have 8's in parentheses all the time (it's already created some errors in porting them over), and the DL likes to use ( ;_; ).

Not in the same form, no. The templating system between the old forums and the new is nothing at all similar.

That said, I may look into modifying the Disgaea skin for use again, but ETA on that is "sometime".

There's a "Don't use smileys" checkbox if you click "Additional Options" while posting. If you want to get rid of 8) and ;) (like here), just use that.

There's no "turn smilies off by default" option, though. Since we never use the damn things, and making sure to check the box for every stat topic post ever would get annoying as hell...

I assume the character limit for posts themselves is hardcoded in?  I've been noticing some display problems in copy/pastes from various stat topics and RPG Ratings and tend to assume that's part of the problem.  But I wouldn't be surprised if there's nothing that can be done there.

There should be an option for it in admin. Something like.. maximum allowed characters in posts.(?)

EDIT: "Maximum allowed Post size - Set the maximum characters you wish you wish to allow in a post."

I've been get some weird display issues on larger posts, like this one in the BoFII stat topic.

Is there any way to go to, say, page 20 of a 40 page topic? This irks me in Mafia.

You can type it into the URL, after the topic number. Can't use page numbers, though (annoying, yeah) - instead you use message number. It's 15 messages to a page, so for this topic you'd get to page 2 with http://www.rpgdl.com/forums/index.php?topic=121.15. Page 10 would be  http://www.rpgdl.com/forums/index.php?topic=121.150, et cetera.
