Godlike:
Kratos Aurion (ToS) vs. Miang (XG) - Awesome match of really old badasses. My Miang respect is high even when she can't do the much argued-about mind control stuff, so Kratos is not in the clear here, but I'd definitely not give her her Omnigear for the DL (same with Bart, other XG characters so far). Kratos has a pact with the Supreme Guardian or whatever, though, and has killed a whooooooole lot of people in 4000 years. He's also a lot more direct in his blow-stuff-up powers than the slightly more subtle Miang. So going him here. (The main argument against him would be the scene where the entire party gets locked in Mithos's little dreamworld or whatever, as that was pretty out-of-character for him to get caught, but on the other hand isn't even guaranteed to happen.)
Nergal (FE7) vs. Althena/Luna (Lunar1) - Uh... huh. I guess this is where I have to decide how I see Luna (though official fiat to clear this up is probably better but also too late). Althena unleashed is clearly God divison, and Luna is like a Low Heavy of some sort. Since she was ranked in Godlike, I'm going to assume somewhere in-between in power level, which would be... mind-controlled Luna who had better access to her powers (rather than pre-game Althena). Makes sense, since this says "Althena/Luna" not "Althena." In that case, going with Nergal on "can sorta control weird creatures" vibe, plus Nergal is roughly comparable to Ghaleon in power.
Asellus (SagaF) vs. Fei Fong Wong (XG) - I don't know Saga but I do know enough about Fei that he isn't losing this unless Mystics are stupidly amazing.
Heavy:
Zack Fair (CCFF7) vs. Selan (Lufia2) Selan gets plot hype as a destined warrior, but also a weaker destined warrier whose life energy is weaker than the other three or something. Zack is an all-around badass.
Squall Leonheart (FF8) vs. Rei (BoF3)
Lucia (Lunar2) vs. Meru (LoD) - Lucia needs Hiro to guard her and stuff, while Meru is competent enough to be on her own for awhile. Failing that: trickery. Zophar taunts Lucia into being an idiot really easily, and Meru is also a bit of an (annoying) trickster.
Middle:
Flik (Suikos) vs. Shu (AtL2)
Mia (GS) vs. Nanami (S2) - Not Nanami who is an idiot.
Anise Tatlin (TotA) vs. Neimi (FE8) - Neimi is, unusually for Fire Emblem, pretty much Light-bait plotwise. She's a random farmgirl who could shoot a bow well who gets shoehorned into your army because he house burnt down or something, IIRC. Anise, while doing some dumb things, is a theoretical badass with cool toys.
Light:
Jessica D'Alkirk (Lunar1) vs. Deneb (OB) - Close, another match fit for Middle. Deneb's a general who runs her own army and is in no way portrayed as incompetent... but Jessica might well be able to purify her way out of this. Going to go with in-battle system as a tiebreaker, and OB witches are pure status whores, which sounds like something Jessica can plot-defend against.
Jelanda Artolia (VP1) vs. Puffy (Grandia) - Minor goddess in Light. Also delicious Puffy served at the Japanese, er, Hai-Lan restaurant.
Genis Sage (ToS) vs. Josh Kainz (PSII) - Genis vs. plotless Light.
