ansgaros - Kefka Gets Decisive (Final Fantasy 6) vs BB and takrockers!! - Episode Omega - Elie (Xenogears) - Both serviceable.  Elie takes longer to get going, I guess that's enough for a coinflip.

Xi - Touhou Youyoumu~Infernal Temple (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs Hyadain - CRASH!!(Let's Do It) (Megaman 2) - Ayup.

Opus.XERO - Final Fantasy 7 Battle Medley (Final Fantasy 7) vs Burn My Dread -Reincarnation Persona 3- - Deep Breath Deep Breath (Persona 3) - The FF7 stuff is barely remixed at all, just a medley.  And... this Burn My Dread is surprisingly pleasant, I don't even need to claim humor value.

Nixdorux - Ghost (Super Mario World) vs Dark Chronicle Premium Arrange - Flower Garden (Dark Chronicle) - Nice, I liked Ghost quite a bit.  This is a nice pool.

McWaffe - Weepy Loop (Final Fantasy VI) vs Daniel Baranowsky, Vigilante, and Zyko - Invertebrate Retreat (Earthworm Jim) - This is a REALLY nice pool.

Secret of Mana + - Secret of Mana (Secret of Mana) vs STK - Forever Rachel (Final Fantasy 6) - except for gigatracks, not listening to that right now.

Genso Suikoden Music Collection ~Celtic Collection~ - Stupid Ducks (Suikoden 3) vs Ys Series Metal Arrange CD Tears for the Lovers - The Morning Grow (Ys) - Ditto every other match, both are awesome, personal preference, no real reason.

Dark Chronicle Premium Arrange - Moonlight Tango (Dark Chronicle) vs The King of Fighters '96 Arrange Soundtrack - Fairy (The King of Fighters '96) - Ditto.

Wow, this is a really nice pool.  Not a single track I can say I dislike, even the FF7 medley is just a medley and there's nothing wrong with that.  (Excepting the gigatrack... later.  Its competition is nice, though.)

Opus.XERO - Final Fantasy 7 Battle Medley (Final Fantasy 7) vs Burn My Dread -Reincarnation Persona 3- - Deep Breath Deep Breath (Persona 3) - Good enough to beat a surprisingly decent take on Burn My Dread

Nixdorux - Ghost (Super Mario World) vs Dark Chronicle Premium Arrange - Flower Garden (Dark Chronicle) - Tough match.  I really like what was done with the ghost house theme, but I think Flower Garden came off slightly better.

McWaffe - Weepy Loop (Final Fantasy VI) vs Daniel Baranowsky, Vigilante, and Zyko - Invertebrate Retreat (Earthworm Jim) - Don't really care for either.

Secret of Mana + - Secret of Mana (Secret of Mana) vs STK - Forever Rachel (Final Fantasy 6) - later

Both are quite good.  Elie takes awhile to get going, though, and I'm sure if I understood the lyrics I'd hate them.  Still, whatever, tossing a note to the underdog.

These, on the other hand, are both awful.  Coin-flip.
Opus.XERO - Final Fantasy 7 Battle Medley (Final Fantasy 7) vs Burn My Dread -Reincarnation Persona 3- - Deep Breath Deep Breath (Persona 3)
Congratulations rather than being nails-on-chalkboard you're now just boring and poppy.  Meanwhile the FF7 Medley is solid, with its only flaw being that it really doesn't do enough remixing itself, contenting itself to writing good transitions.
Nixdorux - Ghost (Super Mario World) vs Dark Chronicle Premium Arrange - Flower Garden (Dark Chronicle)
Holy crap it's Castlevania music.  Neat.  I like the DC music, but it's more suited for "deserted sad castle" rather than "haunted scary castle," and I like the latter kind of music better.
McWaffe - Weepy Loop (Final Fantasy VI) vs Daniel Baranowsky, Vigilante, and Zyko - Invertebrate Retreat (Earthworm Jim)
Weepy is fine, and there hasn't been an Earthworm Jim remix I've liked yet this tournament.
Secret of Mana + - Secret of Mana (Secret of Mana) vs STK - Forever Rachel (Final Fantasy 6)
Hiroki Kikuta is just too cool for stupid tracks, I see.  SoM+ seriously needs fewer bad sections where it just wanders around doing nothing, though.  Forever Rachel is nice, and furthermore is more likely to actually be listened to in the future.
Genso Suikoden Music Collection ~Celtic Collection~ - Stupid Ducks (Suikoden 3) vs Ys Series Metal Arrange CD Tears for the Lovers - The Morning Grow (Ys)
The Duck Village music is great, one of the best tracks from Suikoden III (along with the boss music - Glittering Sword?).  The Ys music is uncharacteristically bad.
Dark Chronicle Premium Arrange - Moonlight Tango (Dark Chronicle) vs The King of Fighters '96 Arrange Soundtrack - Fairy (The King of Fighters '96)
Uh... really not sure.  I like the KOF track's beginnings but then it gets lost and wanders off.  Moonlit Tango is weird and not entirely in a good way and I'm not a huge fan of the intstrumentation, but it seems more interesting?  Maybe?

Opus.XERO - Final Fantasy 7 Battle Medley (Final Fantasy 7) vs Burn My Dread -Reincarnation Persona 3- - Deep Breath Deep Breath (Persona 3) - The FF7 remix doesn't burn enough bread to win this match. You'd think there would be some bread burning in a track that's almost 10 minutes long, but nooooo.
Nixdorux - Ghost (Super Mario World) vs Dark Chronicle Premium Arrange - Flower Garden (Dark Chronicle) - Flower Garden put me to sleep. Ghost was surprisingly good for a Mario remix.

McWaffe - Weepy Loop (Final Fantasy VI) vs Daniel Baranowsky, Vigilante, and Zyko - Invertebrate Retreat (Earthworm Jim) - Weepy Loop will always have a special place in my heart as one of the first remixes I ever downloaded. However, I just like Invertebrate Retreat too much to vote against it so soon. It's not the style of music I normally listen to, but something about it just always caught my ear.
Secret of Mana + - Secret of Mana (Secret of Mana) vs STK - Forever Rachel (Final Fantasy 6) - Abstaining again out of laziness. Are there any more ludicrously long tracks in the competition? I hope not.

I think I'll get sick of this song sooner than the other, but for now, I like it better.  It's one of those songs that just works.  And, when the lyrics are in Japanese, I'm quite happy to just take them as an added lyric.

Huh, a good piece of Touhou music.  Against a piece of music where I do know what the lyrics mean, and isn't really a favourite of mine.

The Battle Medly is just competant, while this incarnation of Burn my Dread is special.  Mostly because I can manage to listen to it from start to finish, though...  it's not really worth listening to.

Nixdorux - Ghost (Super Mario World) vs Dark Chronicle Premium Arrange - Flower Garden (Dark Chronicle)
The Ghost House was nice, but it had that annoyingly obvious drum beat that ruined the whole thing for me.

McWaffe - Weepy Loop (Final Fantasy VI) vs Daniel Baranowsky, Vigilante, and Zyko - Invertebrate Retreat (Earthworm Jim)
I like Invertebrate Retreat, and considered nomming it.  It...  is easily going to win over a slightly more obnoxious remix of Relm's music paired with another mechanical clockwork drum.

Secret of Mana + - Secret of Mana (Secret of Mana) vs STK - Forever Rachel (Final Fantasy 6)
Given this megatrack comes off as less ambitious and more generally boring, the only real question here was if this version of Forever Rachel made my ears bleed.  It didn't.

Oddly, I don't like the official Suikoden remixes much.

The KoF piece is way too repetitive, and could have been at least two minutes shorter without losing anything.  Moonlight Tango at least felt fresh for most of its run.

Kefka Gets Decisive vs Episode Omega: Elly - My god, what the heck did that Xenogears track do to deserve that horrificness. This version of Kefka meanwhile is nice.
Touhou Youyoumu~Infernal Temple vs CRASH!!(Let's Do It) - Non-chipmunk Touhou versus lamely grooving Hyadain.
Final Fantasy 7 Battle Medley vs Deep Breath Deep Breath - Breath was oddly inoffensive. But it's not the most inspiring track ever. Medley isn't the most fresh track ever but it's more compelling in general.
Ghost vs Flower Garden - Ghost is oddly likably considering my feelings towards the base track. Flower Garden is a bit too lifeless.
Weepy Loop vs Invertebrate Retreat - Well, Weepy Loop is awesome. Invertebrate is a middling to decent song, but it isn't awesome.
Secret of Mana vs Forever Rachel - Well, I've listened to around half of Secret and it's pretty nice, but not really close to Rachel. How exactly did I forget that this Rachel is a Piano Fantasy track anyway I find myself wondering.
Stupid Ducks vs The Morning Grow - Less celtic.
Moonlight Tango vs Fairy - And a couple of mehish tracks to take us out.
