Middle:

Lin (BoF5) vs Eileen (S1): Uh, really not sure about ID vs. Copper Flesh. Arguably ID's just a form of HP alteration. Arguably not. I dunno. Kinda leaning Eileen since she wins for sure under one interp and has a chance under the other.

Light:

Oulan (S2) vs Titania (FE9): Oulan triggering counters isn't good for her.

Heat (DDS) vs Sephiroth (FF7) - Tentacles get OHKOed by Deen to me. That's... very much game, this essentially halves Heat's offense constantly. That and Heat gets soundly 2HKOed to me, he's a tad below 1.5x PC HP in my book.

Alicia (VP2) vs Claude Kenni (SO2): Heal doesn't lag. Alicia can, with 65 AP, take enough time with her action phase such that Menu use is restored as soon as it ends. That is to say nothing of her enemy's action, too. The only real reason Heal would lag in-game is if you mash the buttons like a madman. That isn't a problem for Alicia in the DL (or Lenneth but I don't care about Lenneth) That doesn't stop Mirror Slice from overwhelming the 80% mark, though.

Middle:

Lin (BoF5) vs Eileen (S1): Um. I think the status gets her? Granted, Lin couldn't null EQ, so she may be OHKOd or 2HKOd by that... how accurate was Lin's status again?

Light:

Oulan (S2) vs Titania (FE9): Whatever.

Heat (DDS) vs Sephiroth (FF7): My Heat respect isn't as high as others, though, don't think it matters; Seph has the necessary tools needed to win this fight.

Heavy:

Alicia (VP2) vs Claude Kenni (SO2): Mirror Slice is the exact kind of move that screws Alicia over.  Claude also nerfs her damage due to immuning Holy!  And by "nerfs" I mean "takes off a minor amount since only a portion of it is Holy and his defense is going to play a bigger impact anyway" but hey, its insult to injury <_<

Middle:

Lin (BoF5) vs Eileen (S1): Yeah, Go On! -> Kidding! should hit before she gets 2HKOed.

Light:

Oulan (S2) vs Titania (FE9): COunters works for me.

Reflecting on it, I'm pretty sure I see ID as HP alteration, so it fails here, just like Poison. At worst, a good tiebreaker is that S1 barely has status so better reflecting Copper Flesh' cheesiness is fine by me.

...one thing does occur to me, and while it's too late now it may influence the match if it comes up again:

couldn't Heat just regen one tentacle and then Makanda Sephiroth? After one/two of those, Deen's not going to break the tentacles in one hit under most any interp, which gives Sephiroth fits. I'm not seeing anything in either skillset that forbids this, but I could be wrong here. (Yeah, Sephiroth can just kill the one tentacle easily. And then Heat raises both back up.)

I admit to being really bloody fuzzy on Sephiroth, but I'd think this would work? Maybe?


Side note, for the Tonfas/other people: what's Sephiroth's HP score?

Well, as I already mentioned, I think Seph can win even with Deen only 2HKOing (Heat can revive Tentacles, but he can't heal them), so that point doesn't matter to me. Granted, it makes it more likely he can stop a OHKO if you see that as key, yeah.

Seph has 80k HP.

Yeah, for you Heat's durability isn't good enough for it to matter I suspect (makes sense, I honestly haven't thought on this match too hard). I'm just thinking it lets Heat throw Tarunda/Makundas and force Sephiroth to possibly need two sets of doubles. Since Heat wouldn't need to spend time on tentacle revival so much, he's got time to break down Seph's offense. But sure.

I was just seeing Deen OHKO reliance hype and wondering why Heat couldn't just drop Regenerate->Makanda.

(I tend to be leery on Heat matches if they aren't obviously one side or the other, since I fought Hard Mode Heat, which obviously changes things.)

And... 80k? Hm. Not sure where I see him stand durability wise, then.
