Judgement Day (Grandia II) vs. Crimson Raid (Shadow Hearts: From the New World): Think I hyped this one when I nommed it. Cutscene use!
Dark Matter (Chrono Trigger) vs. Chaos Shield (Lunar: Silver Star): I like Chaos Shield as a concept, but I'm just a fan of Dark Matter's overall look. Also hey, CT boss damage!
Fragmented End (Tales of the Abyss) vs. Grand Cross (Final Fantasy Tactics): What the hell is Fragmented End? Oh well, feel pretty confident that nothing I saw in TotA would get my vote over the SCC-ruining Grand Cross.
Time of Trials (Star Ocean 2) vs. Demon Horde Slash (Grandia 2): I had fun laughing at Demon Horde Slash's damage, but that probably shouldn't give it points here... assuming the opposing spell should be Time of Truth.
Big Bang (Final Fantasy 4) vs. Spicule (Star Ocean 2): The VA sells me on Spicule.
Karma Circle(Breath of Fire 5) vs. Grand Stone (Chrono Trigger): I can't even really remember what Karma looks like. Grand Stone is OH GOD GIANT ROCK CRUSHES MY PARTY. Also certainly the more effective move in-game despite doing a fraction of the damage. <_<
10,000 Needles (Final Fantasy 8) vs. Shark Missile (Mega Man X: Command Mission: SHARK MISSILE. Needles would need to be FF7CC version to have a chance.
Ereshkigal (Fire Emblem 7) vs. Tank Drop (Wild Arms 4): FE high-end spell animations are lame. I'd vote Light over Ereshkigal. Tank Drop on the other hand is cool. EDIT: Belial is lame by default? The competition is Nergal.

Rampage Ghost (Super Robot Wars: Original Generation) vs. Spire (Chrono Trigger): Rampage Ghost goes on too long, and it's just a collection of attack animations I've already seen anyway. Spire is short, sweet, and very stylish. Here, have a lightning rod! Granted, RG wins gameplay use.
Crossfire(Digital Devil Saga) vs. Genocide Circus (Wild Arms 5): I dunno.

Fragmented End is the optional superboss' uber-Mystic Arte.  Pretty much -destroys- anyone who gets caught in its area of impact.  60,000+ damage.

Calamity Jane (Wild Arms 3) vs.Gatling Gun (Live a Live) - A cameo, a cool duelling move, and cute. Can't beat that.

Nine Heroes(Soul Nomad) vs. DraggyRider (Chrono Cross) - Though SN comes close as a 2D entry.
Delta Attack (Chrono Trigger) vs. Aquary Tide (Persona 2) - CT hype.
Tatsumaki Zankantou (Super Robot Wars: Original Generation) vs. Flare Sword (Final Fantasy 9) - Vivi hype.
Crossfire(Digital Devil Saga) vs. Genocide Circus (Wild Arms 5) - Yes. Yes, yes, yes.

Dragon Orb (Valkyrie Profile) vs. Moonless Gown (Persona 3) - *EYES Finali* Well...I guess that's to be expected
Fragmented End (Tales of the Abyss) vs. Grand Cross (Final Fantasy Tactics) - All boss MA's in Tota eventually look the same ._. Also, overkill factor is a non issue. Getting caught by EVIL LIGHT usually leaves you dead. So um...lol 60,000 damage. Once you learn to bait out a MA, it remains all the same. So any flashiness/effectiveness points is down the gutter. Meanwhile, Grand Cross just FUCKS you up in the cases you don't want it to. Wins my vote for being more effective.

Luca' Blight’s Flame Slash (Suikoden 2) vs. Terminate (Phantom Brave) - Terminate.  Flame Slash...isn't anything really special.  Why is it here?  >_>
Judgement Day (Grandia II) vs. Crimson Raid (Shadow Hearts: From the New World) - Judgment Day...is awesome.  Crimson Raid is AWESOME for a different reason, but I love the JD animation so much, that it wins this.
Dragon Orb (Valkyrie Profile) vs. Moonless Gown (Persona 3) - Moonless Gown.  Ownage.
Calamity Jane (Wild Arms 3) vs.Gatling Gun (Live a Live) - Mmm...not sure.  Both are close.  Calamity Jane looks way cooler, though.  PULL OUT LOTS OF DIFFERENT GUNS!!!
Silver Eclipse(Skies of Arcadia) vs. Eternal Zero(Digital Devil Saga 2) - Silver Eclipse.  The animation is so, damn, sexy.
“Command?” (Persona 4) vs. Shadow Doom Blaze (Chrono Trigger) - "Command?"  Mitsuo attacks!  Mitsuo uses Gigadyne!  Mitsuo uses Bomb!  Mitsuo leveled up!
Possession (Kingdom Hearts) vs. Dark Holy (Final Fantasy Tactics) - POSESSION.  SUBMIT!
Quad Converge (Persona 4) vs. Chaos Flare (Legend of Legaia) - Quad Converge.  This is cool.  Chaos Flare is not as cool as Genocidal Canon >_>
Dark Matter (Chrono Trigger) vs. Chaos Shield (Lunar: Silver Star) - Chaos Shield.  Different skills (Dark Matter looks cooler, but Chaos Shield is so iconic), but both neat.
Fragmented End (Tales of the Abyss) vs. Grand Cross (Final Fantasy Tactics) - Fragmented End.  FFT is ugly >_>
Ness Ness Ness Ness  (Earthbound) vs. No Mercy (Final Fantasy 8) - I...was NNNN the one attack Gigyas used?  No Mercy for the moment...EB didn't really have animations.
Time of Trials (Star Ocean 2) vs. Demon Horde Slash (Grandia 2) - Mmm...Both are neat.  Demon Horde Slash.  Time of Trials is more quote than animation...and the quote isn't much.
Big Bang (Final Fantasy 4) vs. Spicule (Star Ocean 2) - SPICULE.  BURN.  BURN!!!!
Karma Circle(Breath of Fire 5) vs. Grand Stone (Chrono Trigger) - Mmm...Not a huge fan of either.  Karma Circle, I guess?
10,000 Needles (Final Fantasy 8) vs. Shark Missile (Mega Man X: Command Mission) - Shark Missile. 
Ereshkigal (Fire Emblem 7) vs. Tank Drop (Wild Arms 4) - Tank Drop.  Cool concept.

Rampage Ghost (Super Robot Wars: Original Generation) vs. Spire (Chrono Trigger) - Spire. 
Cube Toss (Chrono Trigger) vs. All-Out Attack! (Persona 4) - ALL OUT ATTACK! 
Climbing Garden (Wild Arms 5) vs. Trinity Limit (Kingdom Hearts) - Uh...Trinity Limit.  Climbing Garden I don't remember, which...is bad >_>
Nine Heroes(Soul Nomad) vs. DraggyRider (Chrono Cross) - Nine Heroes.  Not hugely impressed with the CC techs.
Delta Attack (Chrono Trigger) vs. Aquary Tide (Persona 2) - Uh...Aquary Tide is not a combination attack.  Are you thinking Maelstrom?
Tatsumaki Zankantou (Super Robot Wars: Original Generation) vs. Flare Sword (Final Fantasy 9) - Flare Sword really isn't much.  Tatsumaki owns it.
Crossfire(Digital Devil Saga) vs. Genocide Circus (Wild Arms 5) - GENOCIDE CIRCUS.  Rebecca is badass incarnate.
Shiki Fusion, Level 3 "Mr. Mewzilla" (The World Ends With You) vs. Sorcery Grenade (Wild Arms  5) - Mr. Mewzilla.

Chaos Shield is effective, but Dark Matter is oddly nice looking, even if it is no Luminaire.

I like the idea behind attacks that hurt because you try to comprehend them and fail.  Very lovecraftian.

Time of Trials (Star Ocean 2) vs. Demon Horde Slash (Grandia 2)
Yeah, I can give Indy this much.

Big Bang (Final Fantasy 4) vs. Spicule (Star Ocean 2)
Love that VA.

Ereshkigal (Fire Emblem 7) vs. Tank Drop (Wild Arms 4)
I...  can barely remember Ereshkigal.  While a tank on the head is awesome however you put it.

Easy pick.

Tatsumaki Zankantou (Super Robot Wars: Original Generation) vs. Flare Sword (Final Fantasy 9)
Animation time is too long, but better than the FF9 sword magics.
