Terra > Rika

Lets consider the factors involved in this match:

Two young, attractive girls.

One is a scantily dressed cat-girl.

The other can turn into an undressed pink creature. Oh, and she has green hair.

Its safe to say this match is bait for a certain ninja!

----

"So let me get this straight...we broke the Vehicle Clause for this fight, allowing both girls to pilot their own personal weapons of mass destruction, which is why Terra's in Magitek Armor and Rika's in the Ice Digger?" Rei said puzzling in the judge's box, watching the missiles, lasers and other assorted high tech weaponry pounding each other's vehicles.

"Yes. According to my calculations, it is the best way to minimalize interference from external sources. We also have several air ships circling the arena patrolling the outside, to insure he doesn't come in. " responded a Citan Uzuki, sitting next to him. "To be fair, the precautions for this match came as a request from a certain 'Angel of Death'"

"Well, doesn't that just beat all. I suppose it makes this fight more interesting." Rei said.

"It does make this fight a little more interesting by typical Godlike PC standards though," responded Raquel "so can you honestly complain in this case that such precautions were needed?"

"Suppose I can't. I just pity whoever has to clean up after this mess."

"Oh, we have that worked out too!"

After the smoke cleared, Ice Digger seemed to have malfunctioned, while Terra's magitek armor was still functioning...to some degree. But really, the outcome of the match doesn't matter, what does matter is the extra precautions required for the fight ended up working!

Myria > Ryu2

History has shown that when Dragons and Gods from the Breath of Fire series go at each other, it only leads in catastrophic results. As a result, Ryu and Myria were not allowed to fight directly, but instead had to choose one friend.

Myria naturally chose her most trusted "minion" in Hrist. Why she didn't use the stronger Jade is a mystery...some believe its cause he lost several ranks after losing that bet to Hrist and being forced to become an honorary member of the NDF against his will, but that's an aside.

Ryu, unfortunately, had to choose Sten. Why? Cause he didn't have a lot of say in the manner. By which I mean Sten volunteered immediately and Ryu, being unable to speak, could not refuse it.

Needless to say, when you have a Goddess of Fate facing off against a Monkey Ninja-wannabe who has a...ah...less than successful track record...

...lets just say Ryu signed a forfeit for the match before it began, as he felt that would be the least humiliating way out of the situation.

Luke>Cinnamon

You would think a robot would be a good fight. After all, steel can take way more abuse than flesh. They'd have guns and rockets and all sorts of high tech nightmares. Of course, Cinnamon...heals. She heals. She heals a lot! You know what that means? Radiant Howl. That blows Cinnamon up as good as any Maverick ever could.

Alhazad > Vivi

Simple facts dictate the outcome of this match:

Alhazad is a large Metallic Demon Sheep thing, who happens to be a mad scientist. He creates all kinds of evil minions for whatever reason, thinks of nonsensical plans...that actually work...all while floating around!

Vivi is a 9 Year Old Black Mage with a heart of gold, randomly created from the mist and is basically a living doll...with free will mind...

...ok, that analysis really doesn't say much, but I'm sure "Metallic Demon Sheep" is a scarier thought than a little kid, even if said kid has magic. If nothing else, its scarier to even consider how that EVEN MAKES SENSE.

And that is why Alhazad will win the spook fest! What, you mean the two are just fighting, not trying to scare each other? Oh, well, this was a useless comparison altogether then!

Van>Valvalis:

Vandalesca Musto Fende.

Master strategist, incredible plotter and one of the strongest warriors alive...

...?

---

Valvalis laughed maniacally.

Surely this fool could never strike her whilst she spun!

No one could! He was doomed!

Doo-

----

Van's Celestial Elegy caught Valvalis dead on, perfectly flattening her in one simple blow.

Van stared blankly for a moment, wobbling a bit.

And then, Van fell over.

---

"And that's why you don't stare too closely at a spinning object." Jade shrugged, chuckling.

"...Did he say 'Just as planned.' before falling over?" Luke muttered to himself. "I mean...that...never mind, I'm not thinking about this."

Sometimes an inaccurate attack can get lucky.

Or sometimes you can make your own luck, if you know these things.

Which of these is true with Van?

Who the hell knows.

Kornell>Maria:

Kornell Buster is such a magnificent move.

But where's the love</>?

The strategy, the carefully planned thought that makes a match a real struggle of minds, as well as of body?

---

"...Uh...I don't think you can do that." Maria noted, looking down at her smashed gun.

"I just did." Kornell laughed slightly.

"But it's not legal."

"Legal? What do you mean, legal!? What does law have to do with a battle!?" Kornell was completely baffled.

"I'd argue, but really, the counter argument's not going to be any fun." Maria sighed, as she walked out of the arena.

And so, Kornell won through the strategy of showing people he can break things. Really well.

But in the end, it cost him something.

Namely, thousands of Fol replacing Maria's gun.

What, you thought she was going to pay for that?

Percival>Dias:

The clashing of raw, blistering power.

The beauty of it.

The dramatic flourish of it.

The frightening majesty of it.

---

"...You know, the scary thing is, I'm pretty used to this sort of thing by now." Percival noted, looking down at his long, flowery dress.

Ultimately, Percival's casual attitude, not to mention really trim waistline, was more than enough for him to win this contest.

However, Dias' beautiful hair and great legs have doubled his fangirl quotient. Perhaps he should wear a chinese dress more often?

Nina>Koromaru

And so, the pure power of ressucitating the undead has defeated Koromaru.

Wait, how does that work again?

Well, let's get this straight.

First, Koromaru is a dog posessed of a hellhound. Nay, the mightiest of them.

Hellhounds are demons.

Demons have a great power over the undead.

But how can you have a great power over the undead unless you truly understand them?

Certainly, the keeper of the gates of hell could be said to be, not only a demon, but undead himself.

But then, there are few that can truly be called a demon and undead, are there not?

True enough.

Therefore, Koromaru must be either a vampire or a lich. (Why those? Well, who else could you really see, out of the undead, someone calling a demon? A ghoul? Pff. Zombies? Hah. Skeletons? No.)

Since Koromaru is not, in fact, Godlike, however, those options are out.

Therefore, Koromaru is some form of drat powergaming half-vampire or something ridiculous.

Darned min-maxing mutt.

Colm>Eliwood:

No matter how Eliwood worked it out in his head, he was at a disadvantage.

Colm was faster.

Colm was faster.

Colm....was faster.

There was no way around this advantage.

At least, not without thinking outside of the box.

---

Eliwood's charge would be a thing of legend.

Screaming at the top of his lungs, he leveled Durandal in an unbelievable arc, taking up a massive swath of the arena as he charged towards a stunned Colm.

There are ways of brute, brutal force that can overcome even the fastest speed.

Unfortunately, this wasn't one of them. As Eliwood charged, Colm calmly moved to one side and ducked slightly.

Admitably, this would not have been enough alone, to win a match, but Eliwood forgot something.

He didn't really have brute, brutal force that can overcome even the fastest speed.

As he learned when he attempted to wrestle his horse to a stop without dropping Durandal.

The net result ended with him face-first in an arena wall, one of his arms crushed by Durandal's weight.

The moral of this story is simple.

Eliwood had a strategist for a reason.

Slash>Thomas:

A young lord against a demonic swordsman.

Truly a battle of legendary elegance.

Thomas, dodging, blocking, taking blows on the chin and giving back as good as he got.

Slash, a master of grace, durability and speed, if not power.

Thomas, striking down his opponent with the very last of his strength.

Slash pulling out a sword and stabbing Thomas in the face.

...

Oh, right, two forms. That sucks, doesn't it, Thomas?

Hugo>Lang:

Isthatallyagot!?

Isthatallyagot!?

ISTHATALLYAGOT!?

---

"STOP SAYING THAT STOP SAYING THAT STOPSTOPSTOPSTOPSTOP AUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHLKCH!" Hugo shrieked, as he stabbed Lang's corpse repeatedly.

As he'd been doing for the last fifteen minutes.

Sometimes, having bad VA really sucks.

Camus>>>Miki:

The brilliant blaze.

The beautiful dance.

The cheering crowd.

Oh, sure, Camus didn't have to serve as Miki's pyrotechnics in exchange for her throwing the match.

But hey, it was the nice thing to do. Chivalry is important.

Also, he got to set Nikki on fire. That's important too.

Heath > Jessica

As a rule of thumb in RPGs, noble knights are most certainly not allowed to attack pretty pink-haired princesses. Heath may not exactly be a noble knight, but he is close enough and the Rules are crystal clear on the matter. Fortunately for him, Jess isn't a princess.

Unfortunately for him, she is a pathological pyromaniac who carries an almost limitless supply of explosive materials on her person. When Heath finally landed the critical hit he needed to off the frail little pyro, he just happened to nick the wrong spot while Jess' bag was open. Heath was declared the winner, but only after being revived from massive splattery death (along with half the arena attendees).

To show that she held no grudge against him, Jessica whipped up some medicine for his Wyvern to help get over the ressurection-sickness that they often get.

The giant dragon Leventhan's rampage through the DL was brutal and devastating. Jessica has been banned from ever making medicine for non-humans again. She has also been declared a natural disaster.

Sometimes, battles can only be settled.. on a real battlefield!? Caerlin vs Figaro thus replaced the battle of roaming royals.

Strategy for Princess Lyndis:

Have mounted units attack to the north of the castle, take out the guards. Hector, Oswin, and Serra attack the south of the castle, killing the guards and occupying the castle before Edgar can mount a real defense. Assassins handle anyone on the outskirts who may have supportive magic, Lowen and his men hold the flanks to prevent a sneak attack. A truly balanced attack.

Strategy for King Edgar:

Move the castle, leisurely ride up to Lyndis's lightly guarded castle and Noiseblaster everyone into servitude. Unshockingly, the castle that can move turned out to be the one on the winning side. Poor Lyn.
