So how to set up Netplay?

1. Get Hamachi 1.0.1.5, then join network labyrinth-sc. The password is itl.

2. Open up Net Big2 v2.0, click Game.

3. Click Net Play.

4. Type the Hamachi IP of whoever's hosting at the time. IGNORE PORT, then click Join. If YOU'RE the one hosting, just ignore both IP and Port and click Host.

5. Game will start after 4 people are in a game/server.

Option --> Change Portrait, pick from a variety of FALCOM SPRITES (Tonfa approved?)

Anyways, this is pretty fun.  It doesn't look like it from the description but it really is a blast when you get to actually playing.  Also not as complex as it looks.

WHO STARTS? If it is round 1, the dude with the 3 of diamonds starts. HE CAN ONLY PLAY HANDS WITH THE 3 OF DIAMONDS in it. If round 1 has ended, the winner of the round starts the new round with any hand of his choice.

WHAT DO OTHER PEOPLE PUT DOWN? If someone begins a phase with a single, everyone else must follow with singles. You can only put down cards higher than the card already there.

2 > A > K > Q > J > 10 > 9 > 8 > ... > 3

Spades > Hearts > Clubs > Diamonds

Bomb (Quadruple and a single) > Royal Flush > Straight Flush > Full House > Flush

How do you beat a Full House? It counts the TRIPLE for the number, not the double.
How do you beat a Flush? It counts the HIGHEST CARD for the number, AND the suit.
How do you beat a Straight Flush? Go higher in number and/or suit.
How do you beat a Bomb? It counts the QUAD for the number, not the single.

WHAT'S THE AIM? Get rid of all your cards! Be strategic about it, it's harder than it looks!

Quads themselves are different from Bombs, which are Quads + ANY CARD.

Bombs being what poker calls a quad, a hand which is much more common than the straight flush. So yeah, it's weird. "oh hey I got the rarest hand in poker" is trumped by "oh hey I got a hand of which there are 600 available, I win!"

Anyway, the version of Big 2 I played 95% of the time got rid of poker hands so I never really saw that rule come into play. It's very weird, though. Though I suppose it fits with the game trying to be randomly different - unusual high card, unusual suit order, screwed up poker hand precedence.

Actually I might be wrong on Bombs beating Royals, Maybe they don't? When I played in real life Bombs beat pretty much everything, so.

And Big 2 itself is originally Chinese, so...
