Stats
HP: Lose these and you disappear. Poof!
MP: Used for magic and skills.
ATTACK: Determines physical attack damage.
GUARD: Reduces damage taken by physical attacks. Subtractive.
SPEED: Determines evasion.
TECH: Determines accuracy.
MAGIC: Determines magical attack damage.
RESIST: Reduces damage taken by magical attacks. Subtractive. Also determines resistance to statuses.
MOVE: How far you can move. Also determines CTB speed, linearly, I believe.
JUMP: How far you can jump.
Formulae
Physical attacks: (ATTACK*1.35-GUARD)*c, where c = a tech constant for the skill. It is equal to 1 for basic physicals.
Magical attacks: (MAGIC-RESIST)*c, with c the same as above. For level 1 spells, it equals 1, for level 2s, it equals 1.3, and level 3s, it equals 1.5.
Elemental affinities
Each character has an elemental affinity. They get resistances and weaknesses depending on their affinity. These correspond to an increase or decrease in the attack stat (ATTACK or MAGIC) governing the damage of the attack. Hitting a weakness multiplies this by 1.25 and hitting resistance multiplies this by 0.8 (I think).
Statuses
All statuses last three turns, from what I can tell. A few buffs last longer, so I noted those when they came up.
Poison: 10% damage per turn (I think).
Confuse: Attack random enemies or allies.
Paralysis: Can't act.
Sleep: Can't act, wears off when attacked.
Silence: Magic can't be used.
Charm: Attack random allies.
