Of course, Maya always thought Calamity Jane was the real heroine of those stories, and indeed has based her life around the adventures and attitude Jane brought to the wilderness. But more importantly, it was using the skills and knowledge of Jane that Maya was able to defeat... well, nobody knows for sure, but a copy, reincarnation, or maybe Ziekfried himself, but SOMETHING was drawn into Filgaia in her time. And that something was Harken's boss. So really, what exactly does Maya have to fear here? An archaic, fast-drawing demon versus all the artillery Maya can pull out from her skirts? Yeah, that's not lopsided. Not at all.
