Lenneth's breakdown in A Ending (Valkyrie Profile) vs. Alys' death scene (Phantasy Star 4): Alys' death scene is pretty good for one such, notably because the game gives you such a ray of hope before it. But I'm more generally impressed with Lenneth's breakdown. Good fight though.

STYLE:
Amon vs. Rasputin (Shadow Hearts Covenant) vs. Hippopressor (Mega Man X Command Mission): It's Hippopressor.
Clive verbally owns Melody (Wild ARMS 3) vs. Intro (Shadow Hearts): The bad VA and animations still ruin the latter to me. Clive owning Melody does feel a little forced, but goodness did those things need to be said.

HUMOR:
Flay Character Quest 5 (Mana Khemia) vs. Silmeria and Alicia talk about an Escort (VP2): Succeeds more at being humourous.
SUPER TAUNT (Street Fighter 4) vs. Guy's Super Move (Naruto: Clash of the Ninja series): Comes out of fucking nowhere and is awesome.

MEGA MAN X4 VOICE ACTING:
"THIS ISN'T ABOUT LOGIC!" (Tales of the Abyss)vs. XORN! (Grandia III): I've had plenty of fun at the TotA scene's expense, but Xorn is Xorn, he is one of the top DL memes for a reason.

Protagonist checks out (Persona 3) vs. Flint gets bad news about Hanawa (Mother 3) - While I have a generally high opinion of P3's ending, that particular scene I don't like as much, and the M3 scene is very strong.
Lenneth's breakdown in A Ending (Valkyrie Profile) vs. Alys' death scene (Phantasy Star 4) - Oddly enough, Lenneth's breakdown just doesn't work for me.  I find it more cringe inducing than dramatic, whereas Alys' death is superbly done.  It stands tall against modern stuff, let alone against its contemporaries.

STYLE:
Amon vs. Rasputin (Shadow Hearts Covenant) vs. Hippopressor (Mega Man X Command Mission) - I can get behind Hippopressor hype.
Clive verbally owns Melody (Wild ARMS 3) vs. Intro (Shadow Hearts) - I really like this scene, dunno why.
