Minimeet: Successful! Fun was had, comic-book movies were watched, YDKJ is awesome, Soul Calibur 5 plot is an enormous trainwreck, I have a new Call of Cthulhu sourcebook. That's a good weekend as far as I'm concerned.

(And I met Tide, finally! Yay!)

Back in Canadaland! So, trip highlights:

Jan 11th -
- My flight gets delayed by an hour due to the plane's doors apparently having suffered a dent during the last flight. Maintenance needed to see whether the plane was still operational.
- As it turns out, both Meeple and Super suffered travel problems as well, so yeah, we all got delayed, except Jim who only ended up eating a bad hamburger
- Chilled out at El Cid's. Cid and Jim played Toejam and Earl. We also met Cid's cat!
- Traveled to Shale's, ordered some Chinese food and general chat. People were tired after travel disasters all-around so we all crashed at around 12:00.

Jan 12th -
- Soul Caliber 5 plot. Actual quote during Mini Meet:

<Shale> I am playing Soul Caliber, while wielding Soul Caliber, fighting another character that is also carrying a Soul Caliber while inside Soul Caliber. This is glorious.
<Tide> Yo dawg, I herd you liek Soul Calibers. So we put Soul Calibers inside your Soul Caliber so you can fight Soul Caliber while wielding Soul Caliber.

- Shale took us to some places (Comic store, Table top games, a Gamestop). People bought things. Hurray!
- Games shown other than Soul Caliber: ToMe (from Jim), Xenoblade Chronicles (from me)
- Movies included: Justice League - Crisis on Two Earths and Superman vs. The Elite. Good stuff!
- Football game! Angry shouting ensues.
- Couple of pictures taken, including the picture that will define Mini-meet
- Three rounds of You Don't Know Jack to close out the night. Jim and Shale were pretty awesome. Honorable mention to Super who proceeded to manage to acquire a negative score of -179,000 and let Shale run away with the last round since no one else could catch up.
- Late night chat with Meeple/Super before going to bed.

Jan 13th -
- Shale shows us SRW while Cid takes Jim to the airport
- Finally meet Donna, thus proving Jim's theory of Shale having a non-existant wife false.
- Breakfast. That was a huge omelette.

I think that about sums it up. A little less than the '10 mini-meet since there was one day less of activity and generally less games played (instead I think we just did more chatting and traveling in general). But yeah, good fun all around! Pictures up eventually when I decide to not be lazy.

NOTE: We had the spirit of Grefter and OK with us in the forms of Chrono Cross and Persona 4 Golden both on my PSP Vita. YESZ.

Just noting I got back fine without any hitches.  Again, kudos to Shale for hosting us and being a good sport, yada yada yada I know Cid is ready to nuke DC.

Oh, yeah - Huge thanks to the Cid for handling just about everything on Friday after work kept me tied up for hours later than expected. He is awesome (as, apparently, is his cat).

It is such a shame to see Shale like this.  Dementia at such a young age.  I suppose we have no choice but to go along with it and act like we believe he has a wife.  So sad, so sad.

Nah bro, supporting the delusion is not helpful, if you want to keep someone as young as Shale functional in society it is best not to support the false reality.

Had a good time there. The only drawback was my bus- it never showed up, so I had to drive up there at the last second. Annoying.

I assume you'll be tearing off heads at Greyhound (or whoever) for that this week.

The only hitches I had, meanwhile, was Cid getting lost in DC, leading to "Hey, just grab a Cab, I'll pay you back."

Never really used a cab before in the past, so this was something new, and it cost just barely below what was in my wallet, but nothing special beyond that.  Just something I wasn't use to!

And yeah, Shale, I think it's safe to say that from here on in, I should just take the Train from Metro Station to your place if we hold more minimeets down there.  Hell, I'm sure Cid would dramatically prefer driving down to your area than he would DC! (though, that'd be silly, since from my understanding, he's not far from a trainstation himself.)
