Godlike:
Cidolfas Orlandu (FFT) vs Miguel (CC): Fisherman PAUNCH vs. Cid.
Now that that is out of the way, let's begin the week of close matches.
Loki (VP1) vs Genevieve (VP1): Not sure. They have similar damage, but Gen should have slightly higher magic durability I believe... he has notably more HP, but she takes about 1/3 less from magic, and I do not kneejerk that the HP gap exceeds a 3:2 (though it's very close most likely). I guess there's nothing else worth considering for this match so sure, Gen wins, although Super banning Indiscriminate means he is definitely voting for the wrong person! (No Indiscriminate means Gen has to rely on Poison Blow, while Loki gets to use the ITE physical Extension Force, giving Loki the match rather easily.)
Heavy:
Rolf Landale (PS2) vs Wren (PS4): Rolf's actually kinda annoying these days now that I frown at overlevelled skills. Oh well. (Not that he needed them to beat Cloud I imagine.)
Demi (PS4) vs Arngrim (VP1): Hinges entirely on if sleep resets energy storage or not. Demi trying to win with sleep-locking should have more than enough time to win before Anrgrim gets two turns in a row, but certainly not enough time if he gets two, period. One of these days I need to test exactly how that works at endgame.
Middle:
Sara (BoF1) vs Cristo (DQ4): This match comes down to one thing: does DQ defence work against physicals from other games? On the one hand, it mechanically probably should... critiical properties are clearly defined by the attacker. On the other hand, it's a big weakness of Upper in-game (enemies use crits to punch through it). Rather important because Cristo is only 85% average HP so a Sara crit should OHKO him ignoring defence. Sara crits are rare things to be sure (I'd guess 5%) but this match is easily long enough to see them.
Marivel Armitage (WA2) vs Balk Fenzol (FFT): Kneejerk.
Light:
Nina (BoF2) vs MOMO (XSs): "Is BoF2 zombie equivalent to confuse y/n" -> Don't know.
Melody Vilente (WA3) vs Grey (VP1): Grey must block poison and can't afford a damage hit. This lowers his HP such that he should be 3HKOed by Eliminate Scanner (83% PCHP, all VP fighters take about 10% extra from magic). Beyond that... it depends what average per-hit damage is in VP. I just ran a very cursory estimate and got 1065, so let's take it as 1000 (lower is more favourable to Grey). This means Melody reduces damage by 375 per hit. Grey's damage thus becomes:
Normal attack: 3141
Icicle Disaster: 2022
Grey does 97% PCHP damage in 3 turns. Does this kill Melody? Uhhh... maybe, I would kinda kneejerk yes. But I'm not confident at all. And if the per-hit average is indeed 1065, this drops to 95% for instance. And Melody could be faster; she was IIRC average on the dot... as is Grey. (And there are no especially compelling reasons to tiebreak for either.) I think that's enough to vote Melody? But it's close, I'll think on this.
