Lucian (Valkyrie Profile)* (3-2) vs Ramza Beoulve (Final Fantasy Tactics)* (5-0)
Blade Grasp.
Arceus (Pokémon) (4-1) vs Yuffie Kisaragi (Final Fantasy VII)* (4-1)
Arceus has 1.28 PCHP, I think someone claimed Yuffie's ITD burst was better than that?
Note that if I was a Gen5 Gen6 voter, Arceus can equip Fairy Plate and null King-of-the-dragons Bahamut, but I'm not, so. (Also per earlier, Arceus totally robbed Claude in retrospect, and Claude would win this.)
Citan Uzuki (Xenogears)*  (4-1) vs Squall Leonhart (Final Fantasy VIII)* (4-1)
I definitely don't respect a perfect evade strat here, deathblows have perfect accuracy barring Id's special dodge, and pretty sure 255 FF8 accuracy hits through anything, so it's not like super-FF8 evasion is invincible.
Anyway, Cerberus is a possibility depending on the turnsplit here...  Auto-Haste & Spd +40%/20%  & best Speed junction means Squall can bust up Citan with S-Atk Death which he can't block if Squall survives Citan's initial flurry.
Alternatively, there's Pandemona for Initiative, Str Junction, & Str +20%/40%.  This gets into scaling debates again but all of those should have a pretty huge boost to auto-critting Squall vs. whatever "normal" is, but Citan is reasonably tanky.
Gonna lean Squall for now, could be convinced by math that the Cerberus strat doesn't work, and Pandemona is a "just how much do you respect 255 Str" deal.
EDIT: Although didn't someone say Cerberus doesn't have HP junction?  If he doesn't, then the Cerberus strat is dicier, as Citan should just 2HKO Squall, which makes the turnsplit even more important.  Will wait for Tied & the like.
EDIT NUMBER 2: Oh right, or Squall can just cast Death, forgot that was legal.

Lucian (Valkyrie Profile)* (3-2) vs Ramza Beoulve (Final Fantasy Tactics)* (5-0): Blade Grasp doesn't stop multiple hits in FFT so it shouldn't put much of a dent in Lucian's nonsense. Abandon + Shield + Mantle gives Ramza loads of evasion... but the shield variety is vulnerable to guard crush in VP, and Lucian is one of the few characters capable of a solo guard crush. But... Hamedo is probably a shutdown, since that works on melee which Lucian definitely is, and does block both swings of Two Swords.

Arceus (Pokémon) (4-1) vs Yuffie Kisaragi (Final Fantasy VII)* (4-1): The Fairy Plate is gen 6 only. I should really figure out which form of Arceus is most legal. (or should I say, "least illegal") Anyone know what the most practical way is to actually own an Arceus without hacking? I suppose Steel Plate also has an argument to half the Bahamut spam... but since it's ITD, not so sure. I'll await arguments here. EDIT: Yeah gen 6 is the only one which lacks Arceus events, so no Fairy Plate hype, and I agree with Steel not resisting ITD dragon attacks.

Citan Uzuki (Xenogears)*  (4-1) vs Squall Leonhart (Final Fantasy VIII)* (4-1): Why can't Squall combine the two strategies? Use Pandemona for Initiative, hit Citan with Death. Sure this means junctioning Death to something it doesn't help much (strength?), but I see nothing in the rules prohibiting that. FF8 status is accurate and Citan has no exceptional defences to ward it off.

Lenna Charlotte Tycoon (Final Fantasy V)* (5-0) vs Isolde Schelling (Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis) (5-0): I have to think Lenna with a Gold Hairpin, anti-silence robe, and anti-slow accessory can stall while chipping until just above Isolde's limit range, then unleash hell.

Not like these matters. Any tiebreaks should definitely go against Arceus, since there should only be 1/7 chance for it to be here in reality.

I would pretty strongly disagree with Steel plate halving Bahamut, as Pokemon ITD moves don't care about resistances or weaknesses, only nulling (see Seismic Toss, Dragon Rage, etc.)
<Eph> When Laggy was there to fuel my desire to open crates, my life was happy.  Now I'm stuck playing a shitty moba and playing Anime RPGs.

Lucian (Valkyrie Profile)* (3-2) vs Ramza Beoulve (Final Fantasy Tactics)* (5-0) - Shield+Mantle+Hamedo then a buncha crazy shit.
Arceus (Pokémon) (4-1) vs Yuffie Kisaragi (Final Fantasy VII)* (4-1) - Yeah, don't think I care about Steel Plate halving Bahamut myself.
Citan Uzuki (Xenogears)*  (4-1) vs Squall Leonhart (Final Fantasy VIII)* (4-1) - Perfect evade setup should be at least enough to grant Squall a turn and then cast Death, DBs just have Triangle attack accuracy after all.
Lenna Charlotte Tycoon (Final Fantasy V)* (5-0) vs Isolde Schelling (Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis) (5-0) - Block Silence, block Slow and 2HKO before ramming Isolde into Bunker Pillar range. Lenna's simply insane.

Well, the hyper deathblows are more accurate, but only by 20 points which probably isn't meaningful.

The number of enemies who can dodge Triangle attacks or Deathblows without some sort of special evade mechanic (e.g. Id) is indeed quite small. However, they do exist, and moreover creatures like Id exist. It is completely incorrect to claim Deathblows have "perfect" accuracy, as such; in both theory and practice, they do not.

You're free to give them some sort of accuracy credit, particularly if you scale against the evasion of enemies from their home game (from the same token, Lufia 2 basic physicals would be accurate because Lufia 2 enemies don't evade). Personally I don't scale accuracy that way, but it's fine if you adopt something consistent and do. Personally, I'd only give them the accuracy credit that they get when things are averaged out, and everyone except Maria and Chu-Chu has deathblows, so the accuracy can't be that high above average. I do agree with Snow that at the very least a Squall evade setup would slow Citan down a lot, but in this case it's moot.
