Peter's rebirth this season burned bright and hard, rather fitting for the Phoenix who devoted his life to battling Zeon and his minions. Queen? A pile of ash consumed by unrelating attacks. Karin? No more than a memory, torn in half by a single critical from Peter's razor sharp claws. Lute? Hahaha. A little girl who relied on fire magic to take down an immortal. No matter how many times she attempted to burn Peter, the magic simply slid off his skin.
Canas, though. Canas may have been a hero and an ally of those who seek justice, but his magics are as dark as Zeon. Nosferatu is especially cruel to Peter- it sucks the regenerative powers that are Peter's birthright and uses it to heal whatever damage inflicted by claw or beak. No matter how many times Peter rose from horrendous burns and wounds inflicted by Canas's accursed Zeon-blessed spells, Canas was there to suck the life out of him. Thus the revival of the Phoenix ended not in a blaze of glory, but a in crumpled talking bird dead on the arena floor, being studied by someone completely without malice, only interested in winning and learning the fascinating secret of Peter's magical regeneration.
