So! Here's how I'm hoping the Favre wheel spins this year!

-Vikings trade for McNabb with the notion that Favre will retire.
-Favre decides he has one more year
-Vikings forced to trade Favre... TO THE PACKERS.
-Favre sits on the bench behind Rodgers. He does not get to hold kicks, that's Matt's job.
-Favre accepts Super Bowl ring as a backup, never playing a snap.

You can put him on the D-Line then.

Can you put a price on hilarity, super? Cause I can, and it just so happens that it's $13 million.

"The franchise tag is decent money for most people out there. What I do, it's OK," Wilfork said. "But I don't look at myself as an OK player. Like I said, it's just basically a slap in my face and an insult to me to basically tell me I'm an OK player."

Vince Wilfork has an overinflated opinion of himself. >_>

The average of the top five players at your position is "decent money"?

Math may not be Vince Wilfork's strong suit.

Given the kind of head bruising that goes on at american football games, I'm vaguely shocked any of the players can even utilize human language, let alone understand the concept of numbers.

3-4 NT in the prime of his career at a time when the 3-4 has gone from a niche defense to one used by somewhere around half the league when the free market is as thin as it is? Yeah he has an inflated opinion of himself but it's peanuts next to his actual market worth.

Edit: Shale, you must be loving the current trade rumors of McNabb for a first rounder to clear the way for Kevin Kolb.

Looking forward to the game on Sunday. I don't have a score, but I'm predicting the NFC coming out on top. Aaron will throw four touchdowns. Yes, four. I said it here first.

Vikings fans apparently JUST REALIZED that if Favre doesn't come back they have to go back to Tavaris Jackson.

Dolphins need to get a gawd damn WR and a RB that doesn't get hurt/is not old.

Oh...and a QB...and a TE...

Eh, considering what he had to throw to, Henne wasn't doing too badly.  He's worth looking at another year at least if you bring in some people who can catch the ball.

Granted, I honestly think the Phins have a decent squad of QBs right now.

Henne could possibly get better, Pat White needs to work on a lot of things, and Tyler Thigpen is a great backup who might be a sleeper later on.

This year's HoF class is out. We can all stop using "future Hall of Famer" when talking about Jerry Rice. Glad that's over.

I'm pissed about the selections, for the same reason as usual. Namely: Ray Guy is the consensus best player ever at his position. The only other people in the history of the NFL who can say that are the likes of Jerry Rice and Reggie White. Apparently Floyd Little and his 3.9 yards per carry are more deserving though.

I am ever so thankful that the Saints have snapped the streak of consecutive Unlikeable National Champions Of One Of The Four Major Professional American Sports at 4.

Who dat indeed.

I think this should give us at least 2, maybe even 3, days respite from "Peyton Manning is the single greatest athlete who has ever or will ever play any sport that has or will be invented in this universe or any parallel ones."

Unfortunately, that time is extremely likely to be filled with stories about Brett Favre's impending re-un-de-retirement.

The best part is that he's the easiest to blame for the loss, what with putting up only 17 points on the Saints defense even with the monster running game he had going.

It looks easy to blame the defense too but the Freeney injury leaves a lot of questions there.
