Only voting on Tibarn to prove a point...
NOTE: This is based only on the FE9 form.
Tibarn vs Diekbeck: Diek is much faster than Tibarn, so no doubling. He wins by playing defensively.
Tibarn vs Lamington: Tibarn is weak to ice, given Blizzard and Rexcalibur (Clearly Ice animation) both fall under Wind Magic to me, so splat.
Tibarn vs Jecht: Jecht Beam.
Tibarn vs Kato: PC vs. PC Killer.
Tibarn vs Nate (P1): Kneejerk.
Tibarn vs Hrist: Cancel screws Hrist over.
Tibarn vs Garai: Kneejerk.
Tibarn vs Lyn: Good fight! First off, Tibarn is *NOT* faster than Lyn. Tibarn's actually the slowest Laguz Royal, pegging at 4 points above average speed; yes, he's barely faster than Ike. Next off, Tibarn wins the tiebreak due to better move...which actually hurts him. Why? Lyn opens with a Sword, counters Tibarn's opening move, swaps to a Bow, nails a weakness. Need to number crunch to see how much this does, etc. as Tibarn may very well survive, but...its not as clear cut as it seems! An FE Godlike should NOT have a close match with Lyn, regardless (other Godlikes? Maybe, given some of them rely on skill sets and such, thus could get spoiled. But FE Godlikes are all about UBER STATS, after all; if you're an FE Godlike, you should have no problems crushing significantly lesser PCs. FE10 Tibarn, for the record, DECIMATES Lyn, no questions asked.)
Tibarn vs Zerase: Goes first, should 2HKO, and avoids his counters. She's definitely fast enough to avoid a Tibarn double.
Tibarn vs Legretta: Tibarn has 0 damage control; he isn't avoiding Prism Ballet.
Tibarn vs Surt: Should outslug.
Tibarn vs Maya (WA 3): I think I see Calamity Jane hitting weakness! Unfortunately, Tibarn goes first and 2 turns pretty easily; Maya doesn't OHKO I don't think.
To set the record straight once and for all:
Despite popular belief and probably kneejerks, FE9 Tibarn's speed is *NOT* that incredible. As I noted before, his speed is not that much above Ike's; yes, he doubles average, but no, he doesn't have this "Double Everything" aspect that Naesala has, or his FE10 form for that matter. Its easy to make him stop doubling average; you just need above average speed. Without those doubles, his damage becomes...significantly worse. For someone as one dimensional as he is, he NEEDS that damage.
This is one of the main failings he has compared to his FE10 form. The FE10 form is improved in...well, all ways outside of a more serious elemental weakness (3x instead of 2x). There's a reason his Godlike hype is a lot more serious there than the FE9 form.
