Why a stat topic for bosses for such an unknown game? Because I wanted to, and Evil Gaia and Mullen want to see some bosses that they own completely.
HP: How much health the boss has
Strength (STR): Affects Strength based attack damage
Defense (DEF): Reduces physical (Both Strength and Agility based) attacks
Agility(AGL): Affects Agility based attack damage as well as Hit rate for attacks. Also influences speed that actions are taken (Probably the best stat in the game).
Mana (MANA): Affects damage of magical attacks.
Stats in parenthesis below the boss' name are the relevant party stats: HP, Agility, and average damage done to the boss.
Genbu, Sei Ryu, Byak Ko, and Suzaku have two forms. The first forms are their plot form for the specific world that they live in, the second forms are placed in the final dungeon for no reason at all.
The party I used for testing was two humans, a mutant, and a monster, the most well rounded team for an average playthrough.
Genbu- The Black Turtle
First Form
(160 HP, 8 AGL, 15 Damage)
250 HP
12 STR
11 DEF
12 AGL
12 MANA
Abilities:
Tusk: 27 Damage (Physical)
Gas: 25 Damage (Magic)
Shell: Halves damage done to Genbu for the round
*Immune to Poison Element
Second Form
(636 HP, 95 AGL, 325 Damage)
1500 HP
90 STR
100 DEF
90 AGL
90 MANA
Abilities:
Tusk: 200 Damage (Physical)
Bash: 250 Damage (Physical)
Gas: 190 Damage (Magical)
Quake: 200 Damage (Magical, MT)
Shell: Halves done to Genbu for a round
*Immune to all Elements
Comments: Genbu...is a scrub. His first form 6HKOs and has durability issues (He gets 17HKO'd before any sort of scaling). He does have decent defense and Agility, but probably not enough to pull out of High Light or Low Middle. His second form, while having much better damage (He now 3HKOs) has laughable durabilty (He gets 5HKO'd before any sort of scaling) and no longer has an edge in Agility.
Sei Ryu- The Blue Dragon
First Form
(300 HP, 28 AGL, 70 Damage)
600 HP
27 STR
25 DEF
27 AGL
27 MANA
Abilities:
Bite: 25 Damage (Physical)
Thunder: 60 Damage (Magical, Electric)
Constict (Strict): Inflicts Paralysis Status. Low Hit Rate
*Immune to Lightning Element
Second Form
(670 HP, 95 AGL, 385 Damage)
1750 HP
100 STR
90 DEF
90 AGL
100 MANA
Abilities:
Bite: 150 Damage (Physical)
Tail: 200 Damage (Physical)
Whirl: 230 Damage (Magical, MT)
Thunder: 250 Damage (Magical, Lightning)
Constrict: Inflict Paralyze status. Low Hit Rate.
*Immune to all Elements
Comments: A pathetic boss worse than Genbu in every way, which is just sad. His first form does a pathetic 20% damage to the average PC with his best damage and gets 9HKOd...before scaling. Lightning immunity shuts him down completely and Constrict's bad hit rate doesn't help, so he's a definate Light...and a losing one at that. His second form is slightly better having 2.5HKO damage and the same durability. Still a losing Light.
Byak Ko- The White Tiger
First Form
(484 HP, 55 AGL, 220 Damage)
1000 HP
50 STR
45 DEF
50 AGL
50 MANA
Abilities:
Sword: 90 Damage (Physical)
Ice: 110 Damage (Magical, Ice)
Sphere: No effect at all (I've never seen this have an effect. Anyone know what it does if it works?)
*Immune to Ice Element
Second Form
(670 HP, 95 AGL, 365 Damage)
2000 HP
100 STR
90 DEF
100 AGL
100 STR
Sword: 220 Damage (Physical)
Ice Sword: 170 Damage (Physical, Ice)
Tornado: 230 Damage (Magical, MT)
Ice: 250 Damage (Magical, Ice)
Flash: Inflicts Blind. High Hit Rate.
*Immune to all Elements
Comments: His first form...is an utter joke. He gets 5HKOd before any sort of scaling is applied and his best damage 5HKOs average. Any sort of Ice/Cold immunity screws him over completely; another losing light. His second form is much like Genbu's and Sei Ryu's second forms: 3HKO damage with low durability. Still, his second form owns the hell out of his first, but is still a low light.
Suzaku- The Red Bird
First Form
(525 HP, 55 AGL, 220 Damage)
1500 HP
85 STR
77 DEF
85 AGL
85 MANA
Abilities:
Beak: 150 Damage (Physical)
Flame: 200 Damage (Magical, Fire)
Blind: Inflicts Blind status. High Hit Rate.
*Immune to Fire
Second Form
(670 HP, 95 AGL, 321 Damage)
2500 HP
100 STR
100 DEF
100 AGL
100 STR
Abilities:
Beak: 130 Damage (Physical)
Fireskin: Any character who physically attacks Suzaku for the round recieves 80 backlash damage.
Tornado: 230 Damage (Magical, MT)
Flame: 250 Damage (Magical, Fire)
Blind: Inflicts Blind status. High Hit Rate.
*Immune to all Elements
Comments: Fairly impressive compared to his brethren. His first form is fairly unimpressive with its 3HKO damage and the durability to take 7 hits. His second forms is quite a bit better with 3HKO MT damage and the durability to take 8 hits, a step up from the others. Still, he's no more than High Light or Low Middle.
Warmech (Machine)
(500 HP, 55 AGL, 130 Damage)
1000 HP
70 STR
70 DEF
70 AGL
0 MANA
Abilities:
Bash: 100 Damage (Physical)
Beam: 120 Damage (Physical)
Laser: 130 Damage (Physical)
D-Beam: Inflicts Death (33%), 70 Damage (33%), or misses (33%)
Vulcan (Balkan): 200 Damage (Physical)
Missle: 275 Damage (Physical, MT) ....Ouch
Nuclear Bomb (N-Bomb): 620 Damage (Physical, MT) .......very ouch
Comments: Warmech is a good example of ball lightning. His Agility is fairly high and his damage is insane (Multitarget damage that deals 125% average HP in damage is just....crazy). His HP is a bit suspect, only 1000 when the boss before him (Byak Ko) had an equal amount. However, his good defense makes up for this, enabling him to survive roughly 8 average damage attacks before scaling- usually enough for him to get a turn and use Nuclear Bomb, which more or less slaughters things. A good High Heavy or a losing Godlike.
Ashura- The Overfiend
(525 HP, 55 AGL, 230 Damage)
2000 HP
90 STR
90 DEF
90 AGL
90 MANA
Abilities:
3-Heads: 420 Damage. Does less if less than 3 heads hit, but all 3 usually do. (Physical)
6-Arms: 680 Damage. Does less if less than 6 arms hit, but all 6 usually do. (Physical)
Flare: 300 Damage (Magical, MT)
Heal: Recovers 278 HP
Gaze: Inflicts Curse status. High Hit Rate
Blind: Inflicts Blind status. High Hit Rate
Comments: Ow, Ashura is brutal in a dual. Excellent speed and devastating damage (6-Arms does 130% HP in damage, usually). HP is lowish (Can only take 9 average attacks), but better than most of the bosses in his own game. Being able to inflict Curse at a high rate helps immensely, as the Curse status halves the damage dealt by the afflicted character...so Ashura's relative durability is roughly doubled by this. Another good High Heavy/Low Godlike.
Creator- Master of All
(670 HP, 95 AGL, 300 Damage)
5000 HP
99 STR
200 DEF (!!!)
99 AGL
90 MANA
Abilities:
Right: 250 Damage (MT)
----: 130 Damage (MT)
Flare: 350 Damage (Magical, MT)
Recover: Creator recovers HP (I'm not sure on the exact amount, but its very impressive. My guess is its full or near-full).
Light: Inflcits Blind. Average Hit Rate (MT)
Repent: Inflicts Confuse. High Hit Rate (MT)
*Immune to all Elements
Comments: Far and away the best boss in the game, Creator has actual durability (He can take 18 hits or so) and insane defense. Actually, it should be noted that the damage included in the average is ITD, the average of non-ITD attacks is around 80....yeah, its very impressive. Right and Flare are quite impressive in their damage, especially for being multi-target attacks. The biggest kicker, however, is his Recover ability. If Recover isn't full healing, its damn near close, and he can, and will, use it more than once. Accurate Blind and Confuse status can help as well. A fairly respectable Godlike by all accounts.
That covers all the bosses in the game.
On a closing note, I should mention that my party may have been slightly overpowered (But not too much). Bosses were probably created to be scaled to a party that has lost a few characters (A character who has died 3 times is gone completely unless you buy a Heart, which is not affordable until the 3rd World) wheras my team never had a death, let alone lost a party member permanently. This should probably be a factor on your scaling. In addition, all items have limited used, even the godly items such as Glass Sword and Masamune, which I saved for the bosses only...its quite possible that some people would have used them on randoms and not have them against the bosses. This could also be a factor to consider.
