Belenus (vs Flay)
« on: May 29, 2009, 07:05:15 PM »
Belenus could hardly contrast more with his opponent.  A refined nobleman defined by his compassion, his swordsmanship is defined by efficent, deadly strokes.  Extreme Void lacks the noise and fury of the other Einherjar's finishing blows, but makes up for it in sheer power.  His opponent, meanwhile, is largely flash with little substance, flurries of mechanical marvels and ludicrously over the top drilling attacks.  Naturally, such wasted effort in a fighting style make Flay considerably slower than Belenus, nevermind that he has to waste his precious first turn on a needlessly flashy powerup.  No, Belenus will win this match simply by being himself, a clam and quick buildup to PWS followed by a decisive Extreme Void while Flay is busy channeling raw lightning into some ridiculous 20 foot jumping drill maneuver.

Belenus could hardly contrast more with his opponent. A refined nobleman defined by his compassion, his swordsmanship is defined by efficent, deadly strokes. Extreme Void lacks the noise and fury of the other Einherjar's finishing blows, sure, but makes up for it in sheer power and elegance. His opponent, meanwhile, is largely flash with very little substance, flurries of mechanical marvels and ludicrously over the top drilling attacks that seem built merely as visual fancies more than anything else. Naturally, such wasted effort in a fighting style make Flay considerably slower than Belenus, nevermind that he has to waste his precious first turn on a needlessly flashy powerup. No, Belenus will win this match simply by being himself, a calm and quick buildup to PWS followed by a decisive Extreme Void while Flay is busy channeling raw lightning into some ridiculous twenty-foot jumping drill maneuver that wouldn't even badly scar Belenus if the Defender of Justice actually managed to execute it in time. Not that Belenus minds, of course.
