Team "Twink Bait (In Game, But We Are Seriously Unimpressive In The DL)"]-v- Team Pacifism- They register on the damage scale
Team Musica -v- Team Gardeni- Even Ricardo physicals are SCARY under the SoM.
Team "Adopted under weird circumstances" -v- Team "RPG's Aren't Racist!"- Blitz BW, cruise.
Team Hard-bitten Mercenary -v- Team Ninjas- No idea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Zell Dincht -v- Raja
Karn -v- Shiho
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tear Grants -v- Peco- Want to say Sleep was one of the statuses she could block.
Ricardo Gomez -v- Funguy- Funguy had good STR offhand.  Ricardo is not impressive.

Kid -v- Barret Wallace- Kid's far faster and should be able to dodge a limit thanks to that and Barret having nothing scary on his L1.
Rena Lanford -v- Black Wizard- Want to say that her Silence outraces his non ID status.
Mallow -v- Macha -Strong kneejerk.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Watari -v- Yukimaru- Evasion>Zam.
Gafgarion, Gaff -v- Frank Goldfinger-  Just voting Gaf and not thinking about it for the moment.

Selphie Tilmitt -v- Akaghi - Gets a Limit, statuses. Match over. Close, due to Akaghi speed, but I think Selphie can pull of a Meteor/Blind/Death/Sleep/Stop/The End in time. If in doubt, Full-Cure and wait for Akaghi to attack again (although that'll just be tempting a critical, won't it? Still her win.)

Team "Twink Bait (In Game, But We Are Seriously Unimpressive In The DL)" -v- Team Pacifism - Zell solos this one?
Team Musica -v- Team Gardening
Team "Adopted under weird circumstances" -v- Team "RPG's Aren't Racist!"
Team Hard-bitten Mercenary -v- Team Ninjas - To have a shot, the Ninjas need to blitz out Gaf on turn 1.  This will be harder than what they did to Zhuzen.  Uh..  awaiting other input on this, due to not really knowing Yukimaru.  Also if Gaf wins the speed break with Frank it's likely over for the ninjas.  Assuming Gaf survives, kill Akaghi?  Watari and Selphie's damage isn't great but neither is Akaghi HP.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Karn -v- Shiho
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ricardo Gomez -v- Funguy - Ricardo has haste and healing.
Nei -v- Neo-Fio
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kid -v- Barret Wallace
Rena Lanford -v- Black Wizard - IIRC Rena blocks ID?  Still, FF1 characters are dead average, and Rena is a bit slow comparatively.  This means BW has two shots of STOP off before Rena's first shot of Silence.  Pretty random match, though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gafgarion, Gaff -v- Frank Goldfinger
Selphie Tilmitt -v- Akaghi - Full Cure is the most common limit for Selphie to get, you're practically assured one if you can click through ~4 Slots (which takes very little time).  Of course I respect FF8 base damage enough that basically *anything* will finish the job here (Selphie's limit being worse on damage doesn't mean its BAD), but if you don't, then two loops through Selphie's HP is probably too much for Akaghi if nothing else.

Akhagi 4HKOs Selphie and probably 4-3s. Selphie borderline 5HKOs average at the best possible respect for FF8 characters. He probably doesn't even need to hit a limit once due to doubling, Selphie ain't getting a limit at 50% HP range. Granted, may be overselling Akhagi speed.

Why does it matter that Ricardo has spells when they don't let him escape a continuous heal-lock? Funguy has high Strength and a decent weapon, and he can certainly keep a heal-lock with his chains. Ricardo getting heal-locked constantly is him asking for trouble: his healing is weak and his SP means he'll get screwed sooner or later. He doesn't have the power to stay afloat for very long. Gale makes him actually get a -few- turns that aren't him healing, but his damage -also- sucks and Funguy has HP, IIRC. Maybe he could slap in a Double, but he needs to get into killer range in time, which... yeah, I think he doesn't have the offensive punch for, nor the buffing strength off a glance.

I 'unno I thought he had defensive/offensive buffs as well as the haste + healing? Also some kind of accessory that regens HP but I might just be imagining that/it might not be as useful as I think!

He has all that. Problem is he needs to open with Gale unless he wants to never get a turn to attack before running out of SP, and Gale isn't good enough to have him lap all the time. The 10% regen is what makes the shoddy healing actually -usable- for the most part, and it isn't keeping him from getting heal-locked. Ricardo has like thirteen turns total to kill Funguy, and he can only attack at all on turns where he doubles. Don't forget that buffs in SH3 run out after five turns, and since Ricky ain't getting more than one double total without Gale, he needs to recast it to even keep afloat! Not every haste-healer is Billy Lee Black, after all.

So, due to DLCon (and me forgetting to post a warning repeatedly), this has had a slightly extended deadline. As it stands, it'll be closed in about 10 1/2 hours, so get those final votes in, if any~
