Presea Combatir (ToS) vs Doel (LoD)- This isn't the season for Thunder aligned Heavy bosses.

Dark Force (PSs) vs Yuri Volte Hyuga (SHs) - Yuri1 just does -not- have the resource depth, methinks. Need to remember if DF's big damage was dark, though, since that could give Yuri more breathing room. Stiiiiiiiiill...

Heavy:

Freya (VPs) vs Jeff (EB) - You know it's sad when Freya's winning a match in Heavy on virtue of a lol ohko, but Jeff -barely- manages it. Freya at least has high-profile offense off the bat compared to Moppy.
Zerase (S5) vs Belcoot (S5) - Belcoot's mdur is definitely not poor enough to eat a OHKO. However, Zerase's pdur definitely -is- even at the lowest Falcon variance. Seriously, even without crits/swings, 90% PC HP? Yeah that's overkill to Zerase durability.
Maya Schroedinger (WA3) vs Lady Harken (WA1) - I'm with Dhyer here. Don't think Harken gets OHKOed by a single Calamity Jane, so while she gets Maya into CJ range with her first attack (she can't really chip there), she'll live to drop an incredibly nasty Maximum Risk, and if Harken can counter a Calamity Jane, that won't be even necessary. Maya trying to chip herself is a lost cause due to the speed difference+counters+Elmina 3HKOing Maya with Azrael to begin with.

Middle:

Shabon (S3) vs Guy (Lufia 2) - um wow
Clive (Suikos) vs Guy Cecil (TotA) - Guy isn't great, but Clive um is a little bit worse.
Eleni Dunbar (VH) vs Meganium (PKMN) - Resource issues kinda take Eleni's toll here. She obviously -can- access Ninja, but she lacks the MP to keep going. Paralysis could be a problem, but doesn't Meganium have Safeguard anyway?

Light:

Orlha (CC) vs Olan Durai (FFT) - Olan fucking blows.
Natan (SH3) vs Amy Sage (PS2) - I'm suspecting Natan can't one-round Amy after Deban even with full gauge. Which means she probably can handle this in an unnecessarily drawn out fight. Gogogogo having the one PS2 defensive buff worth anything.
Futch (Suikos) vs Mukumuku (S2) - Jesus fucking christ.
Renault (FE7) vs Kain Highwind (FF4) - Wow, Kain outslugging something.

I think Deban may actually be about as bad as the others. Also, Natan will double, so he'll be getting in 2 physicals and a magic attack when that happens. Granted, if Deban is as good as advertised, that may actually give it to her.

Shu is the one that's horrible, IIRC. I remember the effect on Deban by spamming itemcast Deban every fight - it roughly halves enemy damage. I have no idea why they had two supposedly damage-reducing buffs - nor do I get why they had to make one of them do absolutely nothing. But PS2 balance. The point on the natural doubleturn is a fair one, however, since Amy's a slug.

Presea Combatir (ToS) vs Doel (LoD) - Will have to hit the stat topics for this one. Hell if I can remember what all Doel does besides "have lightning" or if Presea can block lightning.

Middle:

Doel has non-Lightning attacks, but don't think he uses them in Dragoon form (If he did, easy win! Invincibility+non lightning attacks would kill Presea). Presea nulls Lightning.

Elvis (WA5) vs Naesala (FE9): I think. Variant Attack being ITE is pretty bad news for Naesala, he'll need two but he'll get them.
Rupert Dandridge (XF) vs Teepo (BoF3): Teepo is 3HKOing here and has no evade, that really doesn't beat Rupert ever.
Dark Force (PSs) vs Yuri Volte Hyuga (SHs): Mm, starting to think Yuri2 is better these days. Also not sure what form of DF I vote on either! Headache.


Heavy:
Zerase (S5) vs Belcoot (S5): Yep.
Maya Schroedinger (WA3) vs Lady Harken (WA1): Better limit, yes.

Middle:
Shabon (S3) vs Guy (Lufia 2): Sleep, healing, and evade.
Clive (Suikos) vs Guy Cecil (TotA): ... Middle?
Eleni Dunbar (VH) vs Meganium (PKMN): Battle of people with MP issues. Meganium probably has a bit of an edge, since more damage/base durability (I think?) + can half Eleni's physical (her magic blows as a ninja) + one more shot of healing, but then again Eleni's healing is more potent and she doesn't waste turns on Safeguard. Good fight and we don't have a good enough stat topic to really break it down further.

Light:
Orlha (CC) vs Olan Durai (FFT): Haha.
Futch (Suikos) vs Mukumuku (S2): Surely.
Renault (FE7) vs Kain Highwind (FF4): Yes.

Off-topic, but I figure this is as good a place as any:

This week's BtS is awesome. Seriously, it just hit all the right notes and struck a good balance of humor and timing.

Is the new Axel/Paine/Luc/Cirno combo going to be permanent? Because I'm seriously digging this team, and I don't even know what series Cirno's from.

Thanks! And it is when I write, at least. Any other BtS writer can use whoever they want, of course. I just...got tired of the old group after awhile. Needed some fresh faces in. Glad to know people are enjoying it~

This really isn't the best of matchups for Yuri. I don't think he has the resources needed to win. (plus no MP to steal etc.) PS2's DF blows right past him I would think. (Speed + at least 2.3x PCHP + 2HKO non-dark-based damage) (PS4)DF3's Shadow Bind a/o Mind Blast should just devour Yuri here as well. (DF3 is 3x PCHP) Either way...

Unless I missed something?

Sounds right honestly. There is a very specific combination of possible forms you could hold both to that would result in Yuri winning, possibly (Yuri2 has a shot at the statusless DF1 and DF2 forms in PS4, although given their immense damage, HP, and lack of MP even then it requires a notable argument?) but overall I have to agree. Voting Dark Force.
