Closeish, SO3 characters do coral a Dragon to their side, and VP Einjergar are weirdly comparable to 4D realm inhabitants ("gods" on a different plane of existence and all).  Flip side, Cliff needs Fayt & Maria's help to really beat the snot out of 'em, while Aelia's reliance on Lenneth to materialize on Midgar at all is a bit more removed.

Anastasia Romanov (Shadow Hearts: Covenant) vs Tengaar (Suikoden Series)- Well.  Tengaar isn't afraid to slap a bitch, but I don't think Anastasia would go down too easy, and she does have the odd magical power (steal monster souls, summon them against enemies!)  So I'm inclined to treat this as a battle of wills and... I respect Anastasia more in that.

Nyarlathotep (Persona 2) vs Lenneth Valkyrie (Valkyrie Profile Series) - Nyarlie's rumor power is interesting, but it's also dependent on human belief. Lenneth is a transcended mortal, so I'm going to assume her own belief is included in that. And if nothing else, she's certainly strong-willed enough by the end of VP1 to get beyond any of Nyarlie's rumors that might actually spoil her. And yeah, if you don't spoil Lenneth, you're not outright overpowering her.

T260G (SaGa Frontier) vs Belial (Wild ARMs 4) - EDIT: I SEE!

Cliff Fittir (Star Ocean: Till the End of Time) vs Aelia (Valkyrie Profile) - Cliff can beat up a Dragon, and Einherjar are not much more powerful than a regular undead dragon (if at all).

Civilians

Anastasia Romanov (Shadow Hearts: Covenant) vs Tengaar (Suikoden Series)- Ugh. Close match. I guess I'm leaning towards Demon summoning camera over basic runic magic.

I don't see much of a significant difference between a 4D Pocket and the regions that the Saga Characters regularly travel between (which is clearly inter-dimensional, at least in some regard) so I don't think it's much of a stretch to see T260G, who at her origin was an inter-dimensional space ship finding it hard to escape from another dimension!

That is a valid and reasonable explanation. I am convinced and changing my vote. I don't think Belial can collapse the dimension before T260G can escape it if we're using that logic. Cool.
