Berserker (XF) vs Percival Fraulein (S3) - Wow, does Berserker start badly off against Percival. HOWEVER, Fraulein's damage is just junk, and he lets Berserker's ITD offense scale up way too easily - as in, she starts 2HKOing his ass and he's still got two hits left to go. Evade even makes this moderately interesting, but HP Burst means Percival's not really well off for outlasting Berserker.
Berserker vs Alex Noah (Lunar:SSSC) - Alex has the damage control for this and the regen on Althena's Sword also helps him out. Buff if necessary, even. Berserker's not threatening him -at all- at full HP.
Berserker vs Kanji Tatsumi (Pers4) - Wow, Kanji's offense taking off his HP -sucks- for him so bad here. He 3HKOs Berserker at best, which lets her get off a couple VICIOUS swings.
Berserker vs Yulie Ahtreide (WA4) - Yulie can't -ever- avoid a range where Berserk OHKOs her. That's really bad.
Berserker vs Dancer (FF5) - Berserker is awful at full HP and a Sword Dance blows her up. Pretty simple.
Berserker vs Basilio (FE13) - Basilio's got WTA! Berserker avoids Counter, but he also should survive two Berserker attacks and she can't really say the same from two Basilio swings.
Berserker vs Cid Highwind (FF7) - Neither wants to attack each other, but Berserker gets a lot more vicious a lot faster.
Berserker vs Elena (G2) - EDIT: sorely overrated Nightmare Ball's SP cost, yeah, she can pull this off.
Berserker vs Mithra (VP2) - Thorny spiritualities.
Berserker vs Shante (AtLC) - Healers with bad damage generally just don't go far against Berserker.
Berserker vs Anna Lemouri (MK1) - Kneejerk, really. I'm fairly sure that the combined odds of Anna's ID+Berserker fumbling a HP Burst if she tries to game the ID odds tilt this in her favor.
Berserker vs Dart (LoD) - EDIT: So Dart scrapes a 2HKO to average on his basic chain, huh. This with Divine Dickgirl Dragoon Cannon probably heal-locks Berserker, and she -cannot- afford heal-locks ever with HP Burst's 15% odds of outright killing her.
5-7. Her limit game is neat. Fun slugging, decent durability, a risky healing move pile up into an interesting package. Really sucks against status, though, and Heavy-level chip-2HKOs aren't her friends.
Mirdyn Walhorn (TO) vs Percival Fraulein (S3) - Percival can't even break Mirdy's -worst- healing without crit strings, which is just pathetic. Mirdyn doesn't really scare Percy with offense -either-, but infinite resources vs. finite resources.
Mirdyn Walhorn vs Alex Noah (Lunar:SSSC) - RDA roasts Mirdyn pretty bad.
Mirdyn Walhorn vs Kanji Tatsumi (Pers4) - Kanji is just awful against people that physically tanky. He 4HKOs Mirdyn with his best damage - which drains his HP - and Mirdyn easily outheals Ziodyne forever.
Mirdyn Walhorn vs Yulie Ahtreide (WA4) - Burp. Yulie avoiding a Rending Gale is pretty much laughable.
Mirdyn Walhorn vs Dancer (FF5) - Pokémon buffs.
Mirdyn Walhorn vs Basilio (FE13) - Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaah, Mirdyn doesn't like ramming into Counter all that much and Basilio can tank a Rending Gale.
Mirdyn Walhorn vs Cid Highwind (FF7) - Hahahahahaha, this is great.
Mirdyn Walhorn vs Elena (G2) - You could fucking argue Elena can bereave Mirdyn of Rending Gale with her Moveblock spell and get me to agree on it. And it doesn't matter at all, Nightmare Ball+Crackling spam will do.
Mirdyn Walhorn vs Mithra (VP2) - More status gaming.
Mirdyn Walhorn vs Shante (AtLC) - Divide keeps Mirdyn's healing from being ever relevant and Sleep can stall out a Rending Gale. He even -does- 2HKO at base, but not when Shante Divides and the spell keeps the fight from going too slow for her tastes. This is quite a good fight, though.
Mirdyn Walhorn vs Anna Lemouri (MK1) - Sure.
Mirdyn Walhorn vs Dart (LoD) - Yeesh, Mirdyn, suck against magic some more.
4-8. Indeed, Mirdyn and Berserker end up kinda similar. Better durability, better base damage, but worse speed and a less vicious limit - which also takes longer to come out against mages. But wow, is he vicious against Middle-level fighters.
Esuna Busy (7S) vs Percival Fraulein (S3) - Dear god, Percival, your offense blows. He's not winning this without Silent Lake -ever-, he doesn't even 2HKO Esuna of the 0.57 pdur AT BASE... and then she casts Defense to prop herself up to 1.14 pdur holy shit this spell is badass. This means Percy -barely- 5HKOs her... but she also has borderline coinflip evade, that's just -not- working. Once SL runs out, Esuna mops the floor with him via status and healing.
Esuna Busy vs Alex Noah (Lunar:SSSC) - Esuna really likes being kinda fast. Alex can't OHKO her (Red Dragon Anger even misses the 2HKO by a hair, go Esuna mdur and it HAS to go through Esuna evade too holy crap) so she just spams Vaccuum. IF she cares, she can open with Defense to keep a OHKO from happening forever.
Esuna Busy vs Kanji Tatsumi (Pers4) - Once again, Kanji is -not- happy to face people who can wall his 2HKO shenanigans. Defense 1 and evade brutalize Primal Force.
Esuna Busy vs Yulie Ahtreide (WA4) - Good news for Esuna! She OHKOs Yulie with a Power+Defend-powered physical! Bad news for Esuna: this only happens -before- Yulie's Protect is factored in and Yulie uh kinda 3HKOs before Defense 1 with her -physical- while having infinite resources. And Esuna's healing is expensive. Yeeeah. Status against Yulie mdef isn't ever happening, she doesn't even bother with blockers.
Esuna Busy vs Dancer (FF5) - Dear -god- Vaccuum/Stone against Dancer MDef, nevermind Esuna 2HKOing Dancer's ass.
Esuna Busy vs Basilio (FE13) - I suspect Esuna can handle this even without status in spite of Basilio OHKOing her before Defense 1, the evade is pretty badass and she 3HKOs (-AND- I think Basilio may miss that OHKO even with a Killer crit after Defense 1). OF COURSE, she -does- have status and Basilio RES is junk.
Esuna Busy vs Cid Highwind (FF7) - Esuna obviously needs to open with Defense, since Cid's physical -2HKOs- (dear god Esuna). Once she does that, though, she coasts: she has tons of damage control to avoid limit ranges and has all the time in the world to set that up. ALTERNATIVELY, ESUNA DRAINS CID'S MP TO NEUTER HIS NON-LIMIT OFFENSE YESZ
Esuna Busy vs Elena (G2) - This is interesting. Elena's MP will hold out longer than Esuna's if she can keep a heal-lock - wait that's out, Esuna mdur and Protect. So, it's a resource war with Nightmare Ball support and hoping she can pressure Esuna long enough with the threat of a White Apocalypse - nope, MP CATCHER. So, maybe Silence will work - NOPE, ESUNA MDEF AND 7S MDEF EFFECTIVENESS ON STATUS. And if you see Esuna's ID going through Elena's status immunity, this just gets ugly. Wow, dudette.
Esuna Busy vs Mithra (VP2) - Mithra -must- block ID and Stone to not die, but this gets his stats dampened enough for a Power+Defend physical to OHKO his ass. His own status is utterly useless against Esuna's superior speed and 7S MDef+evade combo in return.
Esuna Busy vs Shante (AtLC) - EDIT: Wait, Esuna misses the OHKO with defend+Power physical. HOWEVER, she still 2HKOs with a Power physical (slightly above average damage, Shante's 2HKOed by average physicals). So, this becomes sort of a race - Shante counters Esuna's physicals for horrible damage, but it may add up, and Shante's resources are so deep - not to mention she might dodge or block herself, giving her a bit of breathing room... but Esuna is faster by a decent enough amount, Power -never- runs out, AtL2 status FAILS against high MDef and Esuna's MDef also utterly walls status in-game AND her evade ALSO activates against status itself. Using Divide is a losing proposition, since Esuna's MDef and evade make this very tricky and Divide is likely hitting the minimum damage amount (which heals 20% of Shante's HP when it hits, that's getting outraced within two turns if she goes that route). Shante -really- needs Silence to hit turn one for her to even have a -chance-, and odds are, with Esuna's MDef, evade and status resistance, that it'd probably be something like turn -five- if you're generous. Once a double kicks in, it's simply over and Esuna can keep this up very leisurely, since she's not spending her own resources to do it.
Esuna Busy vs Anna Lemouri (MK1) - Oh wow, this is tricky. Anna is faster enough to not be lapped by Esuna, deals about 44% to her with Shadow Chase and she can use Quick Dream to augment her ID odds, but she also has to face 47% evade. And since Anna mdef is kinda shoddy, Petrify and Vaccuum - neither of which she can block - are likely turn one, while evade alone should drop Anna's ID to turn three, and that's before Esuna's high Vaccuum (i.e. instant death) resistance! I'm not kidding when I say Esuna's a -dick- to status out.
Esuna Busy vs Dart (LoD) - Dear god, I think Esuna OHKOs Dart and certainly doesn't have to.
11-1. Esuna's effective durability is very misleading. She may take physical hits like a Mysidian twin, but the combo of amazing mdef and high evade that hits -everything- in-game add up for awesome magic offense -and- status spoiling - not to mention the defensive spoiling game with evade+solid speed+Defense 1. This is brutally good on someone who has a skillset as powerful as hers - decent offense, full healing, lots of damage control, excellent buffs, two dangerous statuses that require different immunities (she pretty much -preys- on status-vulnerable people with below average mdef), even some minor MP draining, and she has pretty deep resources. She fears 2HKO-level ITE physicals and being outresourced, but this pool had pretty much none of that. Her issues become majorly exploitable in Heavy, but the lower divisions get preyed on by this package, which feeds off an impressive synergy (Defense staves off heal-locks and OHKOs, speed guarantees she can cast it, evade also augments this further and the skillset variety takes care of the rest).
Hey, super, remember way back in Not Ranked Season 2 where Esuna was ranked LIGHT? And faced ONIX in the finals?
