East Coast Minimeet 2013 (...even if happens in January, it is 2013)

So I figured I'd make a topic on it just for preliminary discussion because we aren't getting anything done if we do not do this.  So...at very least, start brainstorming for where and when!

So lets start off when people are actually available, and try to work based off that.

I'm good for anytime outside of the weekend of Thanksgiving, near as I can tell.  I'm thinking sometime in December might work best as a result (possibly late November)

November is bad for me.  December...it would have to be after the 14th, as I'm in Orlando from the 7th through the 12th.  January is, oddly, better.

January is probably fine for me too, just figured November/December seemed more likely, but if people say January works best, I likely won't object.

The latter half of December is bad for me.  Thanksgiving, too.  Other than that, no preference.

I'm down with January, though seriously we should do it somewhere more southern if we're meeting up in the dead of winter. Trying to meet up in a place when it's covered in snow is an extra challenge that's just no fun.

I think Djinn's more referring to the transportation issue, which is indeed something to consider.  When its Snowing, Transportation becomes all the tougher.

If we do it in January, I suggest we do it earlier rather than later.  Avoids Grad School problems in my case at very least!

I'm probably not going to be able to be part of this one; I've already got a vacation in Eph-land lined up for January, and I won't be able to take another so quickly.

SO as far as hosting goes, the following have been brought up at least:

My Place (Parents said they were already ok with this, though still banging out details would make it all the more secure)
"Some place down south."  I'm not necessarily against this one, but others might be due to it requiring flying.  Djinn, since you were the one who suggested it, do you have any ideas of where and who might host it?


If any one else has a suggestion/volunteers/etc., please mention it sooner rather than later.  Getting the "where" done is probably our first priority.  From there, we can discuss the when.

I can host it, particularly if there aren't many people coming. I live in the panhandle, so it won't be too cold.

I think there's even some kind of local con going on in January, if we're looking for something to do instead of just gaming. I do have all the systems and tvs and computers we would need.

Just to get something resembling discussion back up, it seems the general consensus is "Sometime in January is best."  Perhaps we should consider narrowing it down?  I'd prefer earlier rather than later simply because of Grad School.

Bleh, probably going to have a minor schedule conflict with early January now .  If you guys can find a date that works for you, feel free to take it - I probably won't be able to make it.
