Return of the Hair Tourney: Finals ?!
« on: October 08, 2018, 09:06:24 AM »
After the dust has settled, the blond team and the silver team have emerged at the top of the heap.  The silver haired team proved utterly terrifying even without Souji's extreme nuking powers and the blond team won a tough battle with even bigger amounts of cheese.  Since blond already defeated silver earlier on, their rankings are set.  There is one more battle to be fought though.

Ranking

#1: Blond
#2: Silver
#3: Black or Green

Black and Green have not yet met in the arena and will fight one last bout for the third place finish.

Black: Yuri Lowell (ToV), Zersae (Suiko5), Fang (FF13), Sancho (FM4)
Green: Elincia (FE10), Clive (WA3), Emeralda (XG), Terra (FF6)

Sancho has items that work on teammates.

Bonus: Heroes vs. Villains - Silver Haired Anime Special

The silver haired team proved themselves mighty only losing to the first place finisher and not without a fight.  Because they're all of a heroic (or antiherioc, shush) alignment, they have been invited to a special showcase match with the figureheads of the league of silver haired villains.  First they will face the dangerous duo of Necrosaro and Ghaleon.  If they emerge victorious, there will be another challenge with the duo now trio as Ultimecia will join their ranks.  Win that and the last challenge will be a 4 on 4 against Necrosaro, Ghaleon, Ultimecia, and the Silvite Ramierez.

Marcus ran away in terror when he saw who he'd be up against so TG Cid will take his slot.  Both sides will be able to rest to full strength before each match.  Souji also has access to his full power so these are going to be some very destructive matches.  Will it be enough?

Lenneth (VP), Souji (P4), Chris (Suiko3), Orlandu (FFT)
vs
Necrosaro (DW4), Ghaleon (Lunar), Ultimecia (FF8), Ramierez (SoA)

Lenneth must stick to the same form for all three matches.  For Necrosaro and Ultimecia, they go through their entire formchain.  (Yes, this does mean Ulti is also bringing in Griever.  Of course, the villains will play dirty)

Defeat - Necrosaro and Ghaleon are enough to pummel them silly
4 on 2 is an easy win but Ultimecia is enough to tip the scales.
With even numbers and Ramierez's terrifying skills, the villains pull out a win by fighting dirtier.
Success - With that much destructive power, is anyone really surprised?

Black vs. Green
There's a lot of average init going off in Black vs. Green.  If we give Fang some credit for breakign the massive tie if she cuts her combo short - I suspect her shortened beatdown + Zerase MT nuke can kill Terra before Elincia can heal her.  There's probably too many must-kill targets to clean up for Green after that happens.

Heroes > 2 villains, Necrosaro isn't that great and Ghaleon, even if allowed to use 2x instant death, is running into a lot of ID immunity here and 3x revivers.
Heroes > 3 villains, but this is more interesting.  Hell's Judgment is multitarget HP-1, Chris's healing is fast, Lenneth & Souji are both average speed or so, Orlandu doesn't have healing short of some dopey Ice Sword on an Ice-Absorb Persona on Souji or the like.  Unless Ultimecia is seen as having so bad HP that she doesn't resolve a single turn - possible, I'll admit, FF8 limits are broke - she HP-1s everybody, then Ghaleon nukes everybody.  Even if Souji revives once, not sure it matters, and Orlandu can't quite solo here, though it is close!
...although hmm, this is Hassou Tobi Souji of the busted OHKO damage.  actually on second thought, that probably CAN wreck Ultimecia before she gets going (and assuming she isn't given some sort of in-game talking while invincible stage), and even if he doesn't reviving afterward certainly will let him clean up the trash.  Also also, Souji can play it safer and have a Dark-immune Persona too, since P4 Dark got gravity?  Actually, checking the stat topic, it seems Izanami stole Ultimecia's attack as she also has a "Hell's Judgment" dark-based gravity...

Human Ramirez (from the stat topic) is basically garbage, only trick is instant death but everybody but Chris is blocking that already and Chris isn't really that important.  So...  Heroes again?  I doubt he adds much.

Black vs Green; Kneejerk is that Green is unable to stop Black from knocking out Terra before she gets an action.  Green will take someone with them before they go down, either Zersae or Yuri, but I believe they lose the damage race.

Turn order is something like Emeralda - Zersae - Fang = Elincia - Yuri - Terra - Sancho - Clive.  Emeralda goes and punches Zersae or Yuri hard but not enough to kill.  Zersae nukes green which hurts but they're all rather durable so no one drops.  Not sure where Fang, Elincia, Yuri fit in the action order and it makes quite a difference.  Sure, tiebreak in favor of Fang, good enough.  Supposing Terra falls, Elincia is in a tough spot.  She can either finish off whoever Emeralda smacked or heal but not both.  Guess if Emmy went after Yuri first, she may as well finish him off and bank on Clive and Emmy taking out Zersae.  This still leaves Fang free to kill off someone, probably Emmy.  With a two on two situation, more inclined to favor Fang status havoc doing something decisive.  Green has its arguments but need more calls in their favor.

Bonus: Ultimecia  Kneejerk.  I treat every form as its own separate HP bar which lessens Hassou Tobi's massive overkill.  Griever will get off its Shockwave Pulsar death counter and Final Ultimecia's opening Hell's Judgment has initiative.  So only something already queued up goes before it ingame.  I throw out the speech portion in a duel context.  My vote is based on Shockwave Pulsar overkill though definitely arguable.

Don't know Necrosaro well enough to judge him.  Is every form separate or do they share the same HP pool?  Also, Orlandu's Night Sword helps him recover from HP to 1.  I also limit Ghaleon to ingame combos, no double ID even if there are two vulnerable targets.

Emeralda goes first and pings Zerase but it doesn't kill her. Zerase nukes Green team. Fang probably can't finish off Terra but Yuri might be able to. That would leave Fang to off Emmy and Yuri Terra. Cleanup is pretty easy from there.
