Middle

Freya Crescent (Final Fantasy IX) vs Ursula (Final Fantasy IV: The After Years): I would think so? She has a 4:3, isn't failing to 4HKO, and I don't think Freya can do much to stop her in those two turns.

Played all three, although not finished with TX yet.  TX has usual Action RPG interp woes though for whatever it's worth, e.g. the usual how much to respect some big slow ground combo that might work fine on a big slow monster but really badly on a dodgy aerial foe.

Freya Crescent (Final Fantasy IX) vs Ursula (Final Fantasy IV: The After Years) - Confusion/Paralysis chance looks low enough (in Dhyer's topic) that High Jump may actually screw with Ursula's turn order enough to give it to Freya here.  High Jump -> High Jump -> Dragon Breath should be enough? Hashed it out in chat, this is Ursula's match.

Nera Briscolleti (Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride) vs Rune Walsh (Phantasy Star IV: End of the Millennium)- *ffffffffftpft* to Bounce doing jack to stop Rune's skills; both games differ between skills and spells and bounce has never done anything to stop skills.  Negatis is resisted but it's moot as Nera has no way to stop Seals. Her best bet is to try and status Rune through Psy Shields before she's silenced and has to deal with Legeon spam. Good fucking luck with that.

Middle

Freya Crescent (Final Fantasy IX) vs Ursula (Final Fantasy IV: The After Years)- Better slugger.

Definitely agree with Super re Bounce. Unless DQ5 is substantially different than other DQs, Bounce only affects explicit magic, not pseudomagic like dragon breaths, etc. Negatis is not that sort of explicit magic (Rune can cast it while silenced), nor is Legeon.
