After reading the last few posts in this thread I had a dream where I completely failed one of the last classes I needed to graduate. Stop giving me your anxieties!
Don't think of it as a novel. Think of it as a chance to retroactively win every argument you have ever walked away from.

Having a dream about a wrestler and a football player feuding in a mix of cubicles and a giant store (Walmart style) is weird.

What the sociopath said.

Incidentally, this "screwing up [mildly] important things" thing is starting to manifest itself in weird ways in my dreams.  Tonight?  At a cult sort of thing, everybody's head shaved, all that coocoo business, and I look in a mirror and realize that I had forgotten to shave the other half of my head.  The dream was silly on several levels.

To be fair, the only reason I don't get SOME anxieties is all my time is devoted to dealing with my own hilariously out of control anxieties.

I need to do something other than L4D and Team Fortress. I'm having dreams, man.

So an evil wizard was attacking innocent people in the weird-ass mall that I dream about. And these people included myself and a lot of people I knew throughout my life. I had glasses again for no good reason.

Somehow or another, the story changed to where an old gerbil-man and his sensei, a CONSIDERABLY OLDER gerbil-man both came after the evil wizard separately, and tried to defeat him with their gerbil-man magic. Both were soundly defeated. There was a really sad, dramatic moment where they found each other and confessed that they had been mortally wounded by the evil wizard. Then they died, which in my dream meant they flashed gray and red before falling over as a gray-red.

SOMEHOW! The younger Gerbil turned out to be my dad, and they ceased being gerbils. My dad's ghost confessed his defeat and his master's defeat to my family, because I was unable to. I had apparently been there and knocked out by the wizard instead of killed, because I was not a great and powerful wizard like my dad.

I informed my sister that the evil wizard had made a terrible, terrible mistake, because I didn't need to know magic to use a sniper rifle, and I was going to, quote "put a fucking bullet through that dumbass's head, and make him regret not killing me when he had the chance."

I then traveled the world learning the secrets of kung-fu, stealth/skullduggery, and sniping. I became an invincible ghost of a creeping inevitable death. I did not, however, get to see if I defeated the evil wizard, because my dream changed.
~~~~~~~~
I was following the life of this young girl who was taken as the consort to the local king. She didn't really like the king at first, but was his consort anyhow, because she didn't have much choice in the matter. About six months passed and she went from hating the king's guts to loving and respecting him, and wondering why the hell he wouldn't fuck her and have a son with her, when he was so hell-bent as having her as a consort. She also adopted one of his earlier babies because he was being neglected.
This is disappointing, because my Sniper versus Wizard dream was more original and creative. The second dream was essentially the plot of "Intimate Power" which isn't a great movie, but way the hell better than the 4.2 that IMDB gives it.
So I was cast in a guest slot for a new fantasy TV series in the vein of Buffy and Angel. I played this weird looking foppish dude who was too fucking arrogant and dickholish to look people in the eye. I looked sort of like Ashton Anchors, but more pretty-boyish. I was on a horse and was accosted by a demon that I was sort of looking down on/talking down to. It threatened to attack me, and I shrugged at him and in my weird, unlooking way, I PUNCHED IT IN THE CHEST and RIPPED OUT ITS STILL BEATING HEART.
I tested well with fans and was made a regular.
My left front tooth has about half a millimeter of wiggle sometimes, possibly because of a bad spill I took down the stairs some years back; I'm not 100% sure why. Anyway, I had this dream where one of my teeth near the back kept wiggling and it bothers me so much I just yanked it out. But then a new one grew in and I had to pull that out too, like I was a shark or some shit.
I blame an extremely active Chat before bed and especially Bard for this. There was some kind of meet up going on and I can't remember every single detail now but highlights were that Super and Tai had jobs as bakers for some reason and were baking/cooking lots of stuff. I kept getting Tai's cakes and muffins mixed up with mine. Peeps also visited a sea life centre and there was some stuff about wearing the proper gear for swimming/walking under water, for some reason people wanted to be in with the sharks 'n stuff.  Also there was a discussion on whether or not Tonfa's shirts were suitable for a woman to wear and he came back with a couple of shirts upon which people were trying to decide if said shirts were feminine or not. I reassured (>_>) peeps that yes yes that as woman myself I wouldn't mind wearing them because they were a nice colour and had patterns on them. I blame Bard~
A couple of people show up asking to buy my car.  After a few minutes it becomes obvious they are, in fact, terminators.  I end up swinging a katana at super-human speeds at them.  It takes off some layers (not really the skin per se, this wasn't a super-visual dream, but that'd be the logical conclusion.  Which I reached within the dream.) and stuns them, but doesn't really do lasting damage.
That was pretty much it, funny enough.
Is it possible to have a non-sexual dream about someone you're sexually attracted to, if it involves their nudity?
I had this dream that I was driving around with this ridiculously awesome woman I know, and for a good portion of that, she happened to be topless. Why? I dunno. She just... felt like it, I guess. And apparently figured that I would be A-OK with her nudity. Weird. Eerie.
FUCK YEAH, HORIZONTAL RULE
I also had a third person dream where I was witnessing the mob plan a hit and then a heist. They were gonna lure this guy outside of the local superstore and then shoot him up, and then they were gonna go rob something. Apparently, half the mobsters didn't know what the fuck they were doing, and the lieutenant was all "Yeah, I like it better this way. Makes it way less likely to be caught", which is insane troll logic, but for a DREAM mafia, it's amazing they were even THAT competent. Because really, dreams make no fucking sense.
Later, I dream about myself, and I'm driving around with some friends of mine, and we pull up near this superstore to.... I dunno what. I think one of my friends had to pee or something. And I'm wandering around outside, stretching my legs, and then I think "OH SHIT! The MOB!"
I dart into the superstore, and use my elite abilities to get lost in a crowd to vanish. I had this idea that I'd hide in a suitcase before anyone saw me, and the mobsters would never find me and I'd live to see another day. Except for some reason, I couldn't actually get into the suitcases/travel bags/whatever. So that plan was out.
So I was all "Fuck it, man! I'm not gonna die in a Super K-Mart! And I ran into the camping supplies aisle, and got a fucking HATCHET, which I then HATCHETED a mobster with from behind when I saw him come in. (Luckily, since my dream had a preview of the mobsters, I knew what they all looked like. FURTHER insane troll logic. So yeah, I stole his revolver (who carries a revolver anymore?) and used it to bust up some of his buddies and eventually I got my hands on some kind of SMG. It was all downhill from there for the mobsters. Fuck yeah!
I had a ridiculously vivid dream that would not end. I'm not going to get into too much detail, but I worked out that I was dreaming, but even so, it was so disturbingly realistic that I couldn't QUITE convince myself. There was still this underlying idea that "OK, maybe I suffered from head trauma from events previous in the dream" (I got hit by a bus. Twice.)
This is not the first time this has happened. I really dislike the whole dream scene when it feels like you're trapped inside and can't possibly get out. I don't like doubting my real life.
I had a dream that I lived on a blondie planet full of fudge and milk lakes. I was the only inhabitant and I started eating the planet. Then something happened and before I woke up I was dreaming about cutting the grass and finally trying to the edge properly and the lawn mower fell over. I typically have planets as food dreams though.
I dreamed that Glenn Beck told someone on air that they had "the shittiest, shittiest, SHITTIEST FACE!" and had to be escorted off set by security during a quick commercial break. It was a pretty good dream.
Planets as food dreams sound awesme.
I once had a dream about popcorn growing in my bed >_>
My latest dream was one of the more interesting/bizarre that I've had in a while -i.e one I actually remember. Persona 4 X FINAL FANTASY crossover. Wut.
This dream contains P4 spoilers ... so yeah spoilers
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
There were alternative versions of P4 and I was living them. There was switching between them and learning from the events of the previous ones/trying to change the events in the alternative versions on time/go back and fix them etc. It was all about trying to redeem Adachi. We were SOUL MATES bound by a SUPERNATURAL bond. Or something. I don't know. What. It was mostly about dragging Adachi around so he didn't do stuff but the alternative realities were screwing it up. FF came in with summons using elemental forces to hinder our progress. We had our own summons too! I had the force of water/ice Shiva for starters and was fighting Ifrit/fires. This involved trying to flood/freeze whole places silly. Later Leviathan and Phoenix joined in the fun too. During the course of the journey we were hampered by sand type traps and evil VINES too. There was some force pitting all manners of obstacles against us. The battle was futile, the other summons were becoming more and more powerful and couldn't be defeated indefinitely. There was crap with Adachi about how we were stronger TOGETHER and how we had to hold hands, touch materia to materia and COMBINE our forces into super moves. Yeah.
Eventually there was stuff with Bahamut and about how some of the summons had gone rogue and trying to fix them. Bahamut was helping me at first but then there was this part where peeps were trying to rebuild an ancient ruined city and Bahamut decided to MEGA FLARE it. By that point I was suddenly able to cast Protect around entire buildings. Yesu.
Adachi disappeared in the end but I found and read his diary. It ended up sappy >_> I don't know if I managed to save him from hell in the end. Despite what I read of his relationship/feelings for me in the diary probably not. It read more I -might- help/save *you* but the hell with everyone else still.
There were DL peeps in the dream but hell if I remember what you were all doing. Mostly just going wtf and headesking over me being so naive probably. Not that there were any desks. One thing that does stand out though is that Bahamut turned out to be Snowfire. Also that Meeple was exposition man as usual and was acting as a guide of some type. Maybe the ancient ruined city was the NJ of the future!
I had a dream that Matt Fraction was inexplicably kicked off of Uncanny X-men and replaced by Chuck Austen, who summarily replaced the entire cast save for Cyclops with people I have never heard of before.
There isn't a day that goes by where I am not thankful I have nonprophetic dreams.
Woke up from a weird dream this morning. Already blathered about it to Tai in IRC, so just c/ping the log of that here:
> such a bizzare dream
* Gate-sleeper is now known as Gateguard
<Taishyr> hm?
> somehow, I was a character in some manner of SMT game.
> the first part was taking place on a haunted ship
> only I was down with that, since the ship was supposed to be haunted
> it was the tourists on the ship that were the problem, not the ghosts.
> they kept wanting me to get rid of the ghosts and I'm trying to explain that "no, THEY belong here. YOU don't. Go away!"
> after I finish that, you joined the party. Apparently you were with the tourists or something but decided "fuck them, I'd rather hang out with ghosts"
> and that's the whole "it's a game" part came up, since we immediately starting on the long insanely FAQ bait fetch/trade/etc quest to get your ultimate weapon before getting to the next chapter.
> your starting weapon was "Generic Sword". Yes, that was the exact name.
> your ultimate weapon was dual-weilding eels.
> I'm...not sure where that came from.
> we managed to get that, but then I woke up before we actually got to abuse having an ultimate weapon in the early game.
<Taishyr> .. >_>
<Taishyr> Dual-wielding eels?
<Taishyr> I approve.
> So utterly random, but so very funny.
> oh yeah, the second chapter bit was the ghosts thanking me for getting rid of the tourists by taking us on an ocean cruise.
I was STEPPIN' OUT with some buddies of mine, and I was dressing to get ready. Somehow or another, after I put on all my finest duds, I found myself COVERED IN BLING. I mean BLING. Diamonds, diamonds everywhere. I was all "Yeah, bitches gonna be all over this" and then I looked in a mirror and thought "Actually, this looks kind of ridiculous". So I began the painful process of removing all of my bling. Somehow I had these enormous diamond earrings that were a bitch to remove and I remember thinking "When did I get my ears pierced" and that was enough to wake me up.
Snippets -
*I went to a random beach with my gran and sister. Miles of sand. We were about to have a picnic when the tide changed and the sea came rushing in!
*Giant ape was loose in a city. I was trying to evade the ape by disguising my smell! I found a kind of weird spa/fountain thingy which was occupied by a Chinese man. He didn't seem very pleased about me also using the water but hey it was in a public place! I was a bit upset that he was upset and in the end I noticed that he'd left a strange book behind ...
*The Chinese man and another dude were having a duel. I think it was Raven from ToV >_>
I normally don't remember dreams clearly, though this stands out.
I was with a female friend near a pool, and it was somewhat cold outside. Didn't have my glasses on. The friend started flashing me to taunt me, which I couldn't see thanks to no glasses- just kind of a human shaped blur in the distance
My sense of humor when sleeping is the same as awake. (It was funny in the :augh: sense.)
I remembered why I'm not at all keen on being trapped in a relationship again.
So I'm in this room with this girl I used to date, and she's watching TV. The phone rings, and the person on the other end asks me if I wanna go get fucked up. Pretty normal. I of course honestly respond I would rather be anywhere than here, and she goes all banshee on me.
It was like a memory of something that never actually happened, but absolutely could. Those dreams are always the strangest, because you wake up and you're not sure if that actually happened the night before or you just dreamed it. The ones where I pop Wolverine claws made out of lightsabers or throw a shiv through Will Smith's shoulder before challenging him to a match for his championship belt? Not quite the same.
