Edge>Groudon
« on: May 23, 2008, 08:33:44 AM »
"YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAW!" Edge's bellow into the night, as he clung to the bucking Groudon's back, was shouted into the silence.

"That's it. I'm going to make damn sure he doesn't drink for courage ever again." Yuri said, watching the spectacle with a sigh.

"Edge needs to cut back. I've seen Godlike finals with less security than this. *Grumble* Stupid PD."

[Yuri is correct. A rare event, but still no less truthful for it's rareness.]

"I'm amazed in you're in one piece. Lady went easy on you, eh?"

[To quote a certain human with a habit of getting beaten down by transgendered angels: 'Bite me.']

"Stop speaking before I OverDrive both of you out of existance. I'm not here to listen to you two bicker."

The scene in the arena in front of Yuri, TimeLord, and Mewtwo was complete madness. Like Yuri had said, it was heavily guarded. Royce and Xenobia stood guarding the two entryways, making sure nothing illegal entered the arena. Galcian and Ramirez stood just inside the arena, making deathly sure that if anyone were to get past the Vile Tribe girls that they'd be stopped by Valuan steel. Alys Brangwin and Rune Walsh stood on the arena, both ready to blast anything that moved with highly accurate instant death moves or high grade magic. Piastol moved freely around the arena, looking for any problems. The look of pure rage on her face made it clear she'd attack anyone for any reason or none at all. And of course in Groudon's corner stood Ghaleon, whispering advice into his ear and plotting about all the pain he'd cause Edge once Groudon finished up with the accursed ninja. The judges, while nomially pro Edge (Cecil, Fou-Lu, Ryu4) were all men of honor and would not tolerate Edge's usual.. ah.. habits of bending the rules.

"Ah, you all worry too much. Just get me out of there once the fight's done. This is just a distraction. Yuri is right- I need to cut back. At least this week. Oh yes. I have plans this season. Great plans."

Edge's mad laughter would have done Lezard proud. It also made all three of his Godlike allies twitch. They -knew- they were going to regret ever hearing the words "Edge Eblan" by the time a certain wreckless Ninja finishes his season.
---

It took every bit of Edge's Ninjistu skills to sneak into the arena undetected. While he was morally sure that the judges would respond to any interference with brutal retaliation, he was also just as sure that he didn't want to take the chance. Piastol especially was out for blood. Shuddering, Edge slipped off the balcony he was hiding in and ran to the arena in a dead sprint, barely reaching the ring before a startled Piastol could catch up to him. He was safe! Except for the whole having to battle Groudon.

A quick scratch from Edge's catclaws and a hail of Fumas quickly put Groudon down. As soon as Cecil prounced Edge the winner, all hell broke loose. Piastol and Ghaleon instantly jumped Fou-Lu, while Ramriez and Galcian's Eternum spells put paid to Cecil. While there would be hell to pay- Fou-Lu is one of the few Godlikes even Edge wasn't stupid enough to piss off- it didn't matter now. Edge wasted no time in firing off a warning signal to his allies outside, blasting the doors of the arena with a Flame spell.

Mewtwo flew into the arena, blasting a path towards Edge. Yuri ran in right behind him, dropping into Seraphic Radiance and just generally attacking anything that moved. Edge didn't run directly towards Mewtwo and Yuri, but instead leaped over to where Fou-Lu was desperately trying to fight off Piastol and Ghaleon. His flurry of attacks from his weapons didn't do more than distract the attackers, but it was enough. Fou-Lu nodded a silent thanks towards Edge and walked towards Ryu the fourth. While neither enjoyed the process of turning into the Infinity Dragon they had the motivation to do so. Namely turning Piastol and company into paste.

Edge ran towards Mewtwo and Yuri, and leaped over a random attacker as time froze.

---

Edge and Yuri sat down in Yuri's dressing room, having finally said goodbye to TL and Mewtwo. It was very heavily guarded and warded from attack. Considering the utter chaos let loose on the DL by Edge's match, it was a good idea.

"It was a good thing TL used OverDrive when he did. Fou-Lu had just merged with his other half, and God help anyone within attacking distance of him. Was that part of your plan, Edge?"

"Noooooooope. Just a bonus. Ah, life is good.."

"Except for the fact that you just let the freaking Infinity Dragon loose on the DL."

"Who cares, I won! In heavy! Isn't that great? Besides, I wasn't the one that attacked Fou-Lu. Even I know better."

"... I give up. Why do I hang around you again?"

"Because it'd be boring otherwise. What's life without a little fun?"

"Sigh."'

"Oh go have a drink and relax, you're safe. What about Alice's match? "

"Like she needs me to beat up Gares."

"Fair enough. I myself have a score to settle.."

"You never learn, do you?"

"Nope!"

"....Sigh."
