Griever VS Kyril:
Kyril, a young boy on a search for Rune Cannons. Boasting his trusty Swallow Rune, prowess in battle and well-rounded stats. His opponent? The fearsome Guardian Force called Griever. A force to be reckoned with, or so he'd heard.
Before the match, Kyril decided it would be best to ask around of Griever's abilities. Being prepared for the battle at hand was always a viable strategy, and surely someone knew of Griever's capabilities DL-wise? Selphie managed to tell him all he needed to know, and armed with this knowledge, Kyril knew what his strategy would be.
...
After six hours, the judges deemed that it was obvious. There was no need to discuss, and no need to debate. They really couldn't do anything else.
Griever was announced champion when Kyril never showed up. He'd decided not to bother.

Lilina VS Straybow
Two mages. Two masters of arcane magic. Two companions to a leading protagonist.
Lilina and Straybow met in the arena that day. Straybow with his wand, Lilina with spell book in hand. All onlookers sat at the very edge of their seats: This spectacle of magic was to be majestic. Surely a match to speak of come the morrow.
They found themselves to be disappointed, however. Straybow commenced, gathering magical powers to launch his strongest spell. Lilina was far more nimble, and shot two thunder spells at Straybow before he could finish. His magical defenses managed to somehow keep Straybow alive: Did it forebode his victory?
... Regretably, Lilina dodged Straybow's attack. And Straybow couldn't last another round of Thunders.
Better luck next time, Straybow.

Naeasla VS Stallion
Stallion is a horse being made up of two brothers. Sporting Resist which grants him first move AND negates all damage for one turn, alongside the powerful Utmost Attack, he's a powerful foe.
Naeasla has beak to the face and some crappy wind spell called Vortex. It's really nothing to write home about.
But who cares about all that? Naeasla is a bird, and birds can fly. Horses can't. That's totally the only thing that matters.
