The worst part is that I don't think that makes Berlusconi seem any worse than he already did. It just enforces that opinion amongst his people, I guess, but the guy was already pretty clearly a terrible leader and needs out as soon as possible.

Rocky: you do know what an A-bomb is, right?
Bullwinkle: A-bomb is what some people call our show!
Rocky: I don't think that's very funny...
Bullwinkle: Neither do they, apparently!

Those agencies should basically be abolished if only there was an easily feasible idea of what to replace them with (Non-profits wouldn't have the funds to keep the people with needed skillset, lol government expansion right now).

http://www.raintaxi.com/online/2011summer/card.shtml

Orson Scott Card has decided to take it upon himself to rewrite Hamlet to make it "accessible."  Also to change shit around to reflect his personal (and by "his personal" I mean "the one the Mormon Church dictates he has") worldview.

New additions include!!!!
-Awesome new dialogue like:
Quote
Horatio brought him his sword. "Laertes is looking for you," he said.
"I don't have time for Laertes. He must know I didn't mean to kill his father," Hamlet said.
"It's not his father," said Horatio. "It's his sister."
     "Ophelia? I didn't touch her."
"She killed herself. Walked out into the sea, dressed in her heaviest gown. A funeral gown. Two soldiers went in after her, and a boat was launched, but when they brought her body back, she was dead."
"And for that he wants to kill me?"
Yes, that's when he first learns that Ophelia is dead.  WAY TO HAVE YOUR CHARACTERS EMOTE.

-Any musings about the nature of what happens after we die is now gone, because Hamlet should already know, because it's in the Bible, duh.

-Rather than suggesting nothing is good or bad, but rather that we make it so, he instead claims "Some actions are always good, and some are always bad."

-Hamlet's father is revealed to have become a Ghost because he was evil.  Why was he evil? Well, obviously because he was gay.  And gay people will fuck ANYTHING, so Hamlet's dad wants to bone Hamlet.

For someone who hates gay people so much, Card sure does write a whole lot about supple young naked boys, though.

Also, Hamlet's dad raped Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, which is why they're totally gay now.

So the message here is that gay people are evil rapists, and Gay is an STD?

That... certainly lines up with how the hardcore religious seem to view homosexuality.  Inherently is rape, inherently is evil, and is transmitted by contact with another man's junk.

So for the people who read comics, this is what Amanda Waller looks like as of this week.

Somebody needs a stabbin'.

For people like me who don't read comics, and looked at this and were like "huh?", here's what she's supposed to look like:

Yeah, stabbing seems appropriate.

Yeah, stabbing seems appropriate.

Definitely.  What obese black women need are positive role models like villains who take pleasure in the deaths of thousands of innocent people.

Without having read the issue I can't say if that stadium full of people was innocent. It could be Raiders Stadium.

Ehh...this quote seems appropriate; it's about female characters, not obese people, but the same logic applies:

http://maxbarry.com/2011/07/08/news.html

"Because I don’t want only positive female role models. I want the spectrum. Angry girls, happy girls, mean girls. Lazy girls. Girls who lie and girls who hit people and do the wrong thing sometimes. [...] An elephant whose primary story purpose is to steal some berries does not have to be male. Not every time. Characters can be girls just because they happen to be girls."

I mean, imagine this the other way around.  Imagine if an obese male character from comics, say Kingpin or Blob, was suddenly made skinny and fanservice-y, showing off perfect sixpack abs.  The correct response is to cry blasphemy.  Or, back to females, imagine if in one of the later seasons of Rosanne, they replaced Rosanne's actress with Pamela Anderson with dyed black hair, showing some cleavage.  The correct response is "what the fuck, no."  Or hey, imagine if in the Harry Potter movies, they swapped Hagrid's actor out with a shirtless Hugh Jackmann.  There would be pitchforks.

None of these are exactly role-model characters; that's not the point.

As a fan of the original Ostrander run of Suicide Squad that introduced and featured the character, I would be interested to know who I need to stab for this.

I also can't decide whether I'm bothered more by the new design or that she's apparently a gleeful mass murderer now.

That picture's from the new Suicide Squad, which makes it the same "creative" team that gave us Harley Quinn as a Juggalo hooker. So nobody that didn't already need stabbing, come to think of it.
