There's an idea. Spring a citizenship test on the bottom 50% of high school gradating classes. If they fail, they get deported to Mexico.

Hey, we already take Mexico's poorest citizens, they can take our dumbest.
And that's a fair point. I guess we'd have to hold it Freshman year, when the kids are almost certainly under 16 and thus can't legally drop out.

Unfortunately, given regional drop out rates up to 75% in some parts of the country, I have a feeling that Mexico would soon be overwhelmed by the sheer numbers.

Nate Silver of '08 election fame thinks that the pollster who did that poll basically isn't really a polling outfit but rather people who make up plausible-sounding numbers (since they never release polling methodology or deeper results or anything). Strategic Vision, LLC was in fact the people that did the Oklahoma poll.
