His forum appears to still be online, don't know whether that was linked to in the original link or not. Nice to see it's been improved a tad since the last time I saw it; the images aren't trying to load off the C drive now. I remember him doing things like banning people for not sharing his opinions on which was the best FF games or some such but god only knows where that is on there. I'm pretty sure he's banned from most of the sites he's got listed as his affiliates at the bottom of the board there too >_>

Bethesda stupidity.  Oooooh yeah the Fallout 3 shit is floating back up guys.

So apparently because some people are fucking shit at role playing and game the system and try to play a genius with 5 Int in D&D that makes it perfectly cool to flaunt and first person shooter with tons of player based skill rather than character based skill as the best possible CRPG evar.

This is coming from someone working on Fallout 3.  Keep the spirit of the prequels guys.  Because they never restricted player actions by statistics there.

What is the difference between the new Fallout 3 Real Time with Pause mode?  IT HAS BULLET TIME!  For serious, that is what they say with spin of OMG THIS IS NOTHING LIKE ANY OTHER GAEM EVAR.

One key distinction between VATS and RTwP is that VATS provides a tactical view, complete with chance-to-hit percentages, much like the aimed shot display from the original Fallout, presented in the actual game view as a HUD overlay. This isn’t just eye candy; the percentages are exactly reflecting what’s going to happen “behind the scenes.” That’s quite unlike any RTwP system I’m familiar with.

An even more fundamental distinction between VATS and a real-time-with-pause system is what happens when you leave the “pause” mode and the action resume.

In a RTwP system, when the action starts again, you’re simply back to real-time.

In VATS, when the action starts again, you’re not back to real-time. Rather, you’re in a mode where your character acts quickly, while the rest of the world is heavily slowed down. Again, the results of your actions are purely statistics-driven, based on the percentage chances that were presented in the tactical view. And again, that’s different from any RTwP system that I’m aware of.

So... the game is unique in that it has tooltips for hit percentages!  Um kay, that is like... what in every decent combat system I can think of and super prevalent in TB stuff?  Cool, go it for uniqueness.  Then you unpause the game and it continues to play out actions based on your commands which is unique and nothing like Real Time with Pause combat systems (What the fuck.  That is like the fucking DEFINITION of real time with pause).  Oh but it also has BULLET TIME.  UNIQUE! 

I have no fuckign idea what kind of bullshit argument this is.  It is praising anaction RPG for being unique and having basic RPG fundamentals that are not normally in action games.  Then saying how unique this is in an RPG.  This is retarded.

As someone who has been suicidal in the past, it pisses me off when I see loved ones ignoring blatantly obvious warning signs.  If a person is talking about suicide, even in a joking matter, they are willing to go through with it at some point.  You need to treat them as a threat to themselves and others and get them some fucking help.
