Arkham Asylum apparently went to the Real is Brown school of gritty realism, so everything looks like 20 years of degraded horror film footage, at least in screenshots. On the plus side, she, Joker, and Batman himself are at least voiced by their real VAs, so that's good. Maybe I should play it.

Eh, I don't especially like the Arkham Asylum version, but at least it's recognizeable as Harley Quinn. And...hell, I can see people wearing something like that to a costume party--I've known girls like that >_>. (The costume also gets bonus points for having platform shoes instead of heels).

The new design on the other hand is WTF, just...WTF. She's...wearing a corset but not a bra, except the corset seems to be completely elastic and mould to the shape of her boob; like seriously, is that corset made out of freaking spandex? It sure doesn't seem to be functioning as a corset.

And what is up with her face? I mean, Harley has always been "crazy girl in makeup." And...I though they figured out from The Dark Knight that crazy person wearing makeup was the popular direction to go with Joker and family. But the face on the redesign...doesn't look human, and the makeup job doesn't look like it would pass for clown makeup--the style seems more goth, or maybe furry (I'm assuming there's contact lenses being used to make her have white pupils).

you can tell because she doesn't have ripped abs in quantities not anatomically possible.

The chick in the Liefeld drawing looks like she was getting plastic surgery while working out at the gym. That or the boob job is really terrible in that the nipples are like in line with the middle of their shoulder.

It could be an insanely tailored costume that is both figure hugging to cling to the under side of the breast while attempting to restrict movement by pulling them in the general direction of under her armpits, which I imagine is both incredibly good at stopping them from jiggling and hurts like hell.

Probably not any more uncomfortable than the standard pushup bra that pushes them up and together to make cleavage. In fact, at a glance I don't think it's that far from a non-bra rest position on some women.

Granted, this doesn't answer the impracticality of form-hugging costumes, or why you wouldn't just wear a sports bra when you'll be accelerating with ridiculous force.

Magic: Thanks for finding the article. Although, reading it, it seems to me that the objections of the boo-birds were not to the suggestion that the moon did not emit its own light, but what they perceived (rightly or wrongly) as an attack on their religion. Which is not neary as IotD-worthy, especially depending on the specific wording Nye used, which is unreported.

(Lest anyone get the wrong idea, I think Bill Nye is super-awesome.)

Ok, so first Mark Halperin calls Obama a dick on teevee. Then he gets suspended indefinitely for it. Then this guy admits he didn't even understand what Halperin meant by "dick." But he doesn't use the word in his column because apparently "dick" is a word that not only cannot be uttered but also may not see print.

This all fills me with despair but also makes me feel oddly young.
