If this were professional art, that would be a valid argument (because artists can be coy or cagey about what their art means). It still is, kinda. Whenever you have a situation where you have a collaborative work, there is a possibility that creators may disagree. If the show, the actual content we're talking about, left something vague, I say leave it at that.

People take out of media what they believe based on what's apparent. You don't even have to believe Dumbledore's gay if you really don't want to. Not like it was ever clear in the book.

Or so you'd like to think. Still, character designs are by CLAMP, and they are undoubtedly artists, and I would argue they're good ones (not for Code Geass, mind, but Clover, X, Cardcaptor Sakura manga are all quality) so I guess it qualifies.

EDIT: Art quality. Not touching plot, so set down the torches. (though in the 3 I mentioned, I wouldn't think there'd be much objectionable about the plot either, as long as you consider that other shows you might think are using that stale old plotline are ripoffs of X. Anyway. God, I'm equivocal.)

And boy were they evasive, pointing to all those laws Congress wrote that granted them authority, but ultimately skirting the question of where congress gets the authority to do so. C'mon, dudes. Article one.
