There are about billions of dishes that fit under that category, and that just dividing by regional appeal (seriously, it's like each region has a completely unique and bizarre cuisine over here). You're asking a bit much there. >_>

Yes, it is. It's also very spice-intensive in certain regions, although there is also a very vast variety of sweets and we do some... ah, interesting things with dairy products.

This is the country's capital and a manufactured city. I can go for "home cooking restaurants" from all regions from here, but it doesn't have a cooking tradition on its own. >_>

However, in my home state, a typical home cooking restaurant would have... hmmm. Feijoada is pretty country-wide, so that doesn't count, but we have special varieties of bean-based dishes (somewhat like a puree, but with a few particular spice veggies), traditional barbecue, specially prepared meats, rice prepared with certain kinds of legumes, dishes involving especially prepared flour with meats, eggs and vegetables and a vast variety of pastries and sweets (both having many varieties of dairy-based goods, others being very heavy on the fruit content).

And without the disgusting flatulence-inducing madness. Also, no guacamole. Not having guacamole makes -anything- better.

EDIT: Also, it's hard to give a direct response when just about 230% of the stuff I'd have to describe is untranslatable to English anyway.

Southeast cuisine is what I was mainly raised on, particularly Minas Gerais (my home state). Hope this is elucidative enough.
