In another country, so I absentee voted a couple weeks ago. Kinda wish I could have done it before I left, for a two reasons.
1. No option to do it through postal mail, only via E-mail. Not so bad, since there is a paper trail for this (They send me a PDF, I print it out, re-scan it, send it back, "they" print it out and scantron it), but requests to confirm that my ballot has been registered have gone gotten... only vague answers. I'm only really concerned because the address that I e-mailed my application to, the addy I got the ballot from, and the addy I e-mail questions to are all different. All clearly from my county clerk's office, but since they didn't specify an address I only have a guess as to which one I was supposed to send it to. I asked and said they didn't matter, but I am paranoid.
2. There was a requirement that I get the ballot notorized. The nearest legal notary is in London, and in addition to having to pay the 60 quid for a return rail ticket I'd have to pay for the notary. I inquired about this (and about how this wasn't in a way a poll tax) and my county clerk's office said it was fine as long as there was a witness signature, but there's so much potential for mischief there that my rampant paranoia is in full swing.
If I get past the paranoia there's really not much there to be worried about, but... yeah. I would feel more at ease had I been able to do it in person, which was not an option at the date I left the country.
