Also, I've been scum 4 out of 5 board games, and I was a prostitute, which is a role I keep getting in IRC games. I hate any and all mafia mods, and I think they're in some conspiracy, here.

Haw haw.

I was encouraging you to keep roleblocking me!  Not a lie per se (I -never- claimed to have a power) but it seemed to work out pretty well.

I was pretty confident about OK.  I actually thought Rat was the most likely second scum, followed by Yakko, followed by Fenrir.  Well played, Fenrir, I keep not suspecting you even when you don't post enough.  This will change.

Okay. I was wondering, in the PW game, why did Otter die even though Shale yelled OBJECTION! ?

Because he talked to me, Andrew, and maybe others about the game after being 'lynched' but before Shale intervened.

It was actually because of his role. Suicide was triggered by IDing strago as a mason? I think? Not sure.

The role was that IDing Strago as a mason made Strago a SK.

Three modkills: Carthrat, I, and Otter. Otter talking to others about the game killed him, else the Objection would have saved him. Carthrat accidentally beamed me a message, I went all laser eyes on him, he didn't get the chance to Zvarri: Taishyr in return. Ah well.

Otter's roleclaim made Strago SK, as per the trigger.

I'm going to back up what Taishyr said.  Of the fifteen players, three of them went down in Modkill flames.

Rat posted something where he shouldn't, so Tai knew something he shouldn't, so they both had to die.  And Otter chatted with folks he shouldn't have, meaning he could not return to game.  So he also perished.

As for the Otter revealing Strago?  That was a trigger to make him self-aligned SK.

Hmm, does anyone know how to move that Mafia-postcounter thing over to the new boards?

I've been thinking about my upcoming Touhou game - specifically, character distribution.

The nice thing about Touhou is that there's no clear-cut villain (aside from maybe Yuka Kazami depending on your point of (flower) view). To me, this eliminates any and all potential "Is this name claim a viable one?" guesswork that I've seen in several games here so far because, quite literally, anyone could be town and anyone could be scum. (In addition, anyone could be vanilla, and anyone could be an uber-powerful role.)

Now! Given that I have my game's mechanics and character setup down for every single possibility from 21 to 25 players, I would like to open the possibility of allowing people that wish to do so to pick which character they want to be. Obviously anyone who did so would have their game role cemented immediately (assuming they pick someone that's actually in the game), but given the completely wild card nature of Gensokyo and its residents they could be dealt anything (i.e. calling Yukari Yakumo would not necessarily guarantee you a stupidly broken infinite hax role).

I'm also strongly considering simply posting a list of the characters involved at the beginning of the game for largely similar reasons.

Both ideas: yea or nay?

That...does sound like it could be kinda fun, yeah. And so long as nobody knows who's what and what's who, then it shouldn't really mess things up.

No one outside of myself and anyone I happen to pick to co-mod with will know the whole setup until postgame.

Hell, the players won't even know who was available for selection until the game starts, and that's at the very earliest. (Hint: If we decide to do this, provide ordered lists of who you want! If you give me one name and it doesn't work, you'll be stuck with leftovers.)

And I seriously doubt that revealing our characters names would actually matter! Given the nature of the setting and roles, anyone could really be anything with a bit of justification. I could even get behind posting in-character (as far my interpretations of characters go.)

No real objection to limiting the character list. Yes, I'll change my avatar if this happens. >_>

Gah.  Dead already.  And Gate is playing in OK's and will want to play in the Touhou one so I'm out of games to play until something new starts.  Darnit.

So question of curiosity, is the list of games that will be played in order, or just a list so people know what's going to come up in the future?  I may decide to run mine since it's (finally) done once OK's game gets to at least Day 2, but there were others on the list before me so I'm not sure if it's a waiting line or just a sticky list of Upcoming Events.

Theoretically in order, but I'd be fine with some queue jumping if there's a dearth of running games.  There are in general too many people wanting to mod and not enough wanting to play, though...

By the way, I ran some mafia games with a set of twelve friends of mine in person. They went very well. Just curious what people think of the fairness of these setups- it was the first time I ran a game with roles.

Game 1- 3 Scum, 9 Town- Godfather(Doesn't get copped), 2xGoons, Cop, Doc, Princess, 3x Vanilla Town
Thought I was a bit harsh on the cop. Ended up not mattering, the town lynched him day one. Scum wins by 2.

Game 2- Godfather(No cops, Docbusts if he kills, loses Godfather's power)  2xGoon, Town Watcher, Doc, Roleblocker, 3x Town.
Godfather docbusting thing is a trap, since there is no straight cop. Godfather murdered the watcher night one, after the watcher targetted them. Wacky. Went down to the wire, Scum wins.

Game 3-Godfather(One shot of Docbust, loses shield if they do it), 2x Goon, Cop, Doc, Governor, Roleblocker, 2x Town.
Came down to the wire. Cop spotted Godfather the night after they did the kill. Breadcrumbed nicely, then revealed with four alive on the last day(Mislynch+kill leaves one town, one scum) Town wins with three living.
