Team Tranquil | Yuri2, Eiko, Songstress, Lucia, Nei
[Floor 3a]
Floor 3a
*All MT is ST and targetable
Team Tranquil vs. Jowy
Team Tranquil vs. Deis 1 and Nina 1
Team Tranquil vs. Aeonless Yuna and Lulu
Team Tranquil vs. Demi and Wren
Team Tranquil vs. Dehuai - Actually, the team doesn't even make it this far. Problem 1: Dancer is getting constantly outsped and OHKOed throughout the floor. Problem 2: revival is limited to Eiko and Eiko doesn't have the true hax options for elemental walling yet. Problem 3: Yuri2 is average speed and not a durability god. Problem 4: just about every fucking fight in this floor can OHKO Eiko in addition to Dancer. Considering the team relies on having Dancer get turns and Eiko patching up sore spots, this is turning ugly pretty fast. The fact that this floor 3 completely rapes the MT-oriented Dancer, um, yeah. Bad.

Team Tide | Sasarai (TER), Ephraim, Garnet, Arnaud, Duran(Lord Light->Dark)
[Floor 6a]
Team Tide vs. Fujin, Ull, Margulis, Landis - Pretty simple. Toss Eph at Fujin, Margulis shouldn't be threatening to a full party, Landis sucks and Ull is just okay at taking hits.
Team Tide vs. Chaz, Lassic, Rudy, Zoah - EDIT: Okay, so Garnet doesn't get ID'd turn one. However? She gets sleeped turn one, and Rudy can still spell trouble and Chaz resists Arnaud's debuffs. I'm thinking that the delay actually lets her live long enough to own the hell out of Rudy, though, although Zoah could spell trouble - Zoah+Lassic physical kills Sasarai, and after that... huh. Weird. Abstain for now.

Team Tonfa | Cloud, Chemist, Aika, FFX-2 Songstress
[Floor 7]
[Materia: Cover(M), Revive(M), All(M)-Barrier(M), All(M)-Time(M), Destruct(M), HP Plus]
*Cloud has been granted E. Skill Materia
*Songstress has been granted a Mythril Bangle (HP +60%)
Team Tonfa vs. Tidus, Wakka, Aeonless Yuna, Auron - EDIT: Fuck, I didn't realize Lulu wasn't in this lineup. Nevermind, I think the team passes this, then.
*Cloud has been granted E. Skill Materia
Team Tonfa vs. Jecht and Seymour Flux - Issue #1: JECHT HAS A BUNCH OF STATUS VULNERABILITIES - two of which Bad Breath can exploit, one of which being crippling (Confuse). This means Cloud casts Bad Breath on the loser and then proceeds to raise hell on Seymour Flux. Since Chemist has status healing, Zombie isn't a problem. Seymour Flux's limit range could be dangerous, yeah, but the turnsplit should work in their favor once Dancer pulls up the Haste dance, and most of Tonfa's damage being ITD can only help.
*Full Heal
Team Tonfa vs. Orlandu, Meliadoul, Worker 8 - Uh, this is ugly. Orlandu breaks Cloud's weapons - i.e. now his limits SUCK ASS, and arguably loses him materia as well. Cloud even manages to make due with Bad Breath assuming it wasn't on his weapon (I'll throw out that argument myself, it gives me headaches. >_>), but things don't look too good.
Team Tonfa vs. Rika, Chaz, Rune, Wren - This is a bloody slaughter. Rika, Chaz, Rune and Wren all go before Dancer/Cloud/Chemist, and pull off their MT physical damage while mocking anything short of L3s, which they can chip around without triggering. And Aika has to pull up Delta Shield as well, otherwise Rune gets to MT Silence/ID/2HKO the party, and they can't get around that.
*Full Heal
Team Tonfa vs. Profound Darkness and Altima - If the team, by some miracle, makes past the PS4 party of horrible broken in the dungeon, Altima and PD just crush their hopes forever and ever. Altima Grand Crosses Aika, PD has crushing MT damage and OHKO physical damage, not to mention MT dispel and waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much HP. The party would go into the sack regardless.

Team Tide vs. Chaz, Lassic, Rudy, Zoah - Okay, so this is troublesome. Chaz... goes first, IDs Garnet and things kinda steamroll downwards from there. An opening Earthquake+Eph turn should be enough to off Rudy, but this means Sas ain't reviving Garnet, and this is crucial: the team struggles horribly against Lassic without her, who can solo him due to elemental hax. From there, it's all downhill. The fact that Lassic immunes debuffs and Chaz ignores evade with his skills doesn't help either.

Wouldn't his ID fail to you since it's 70% and checks a stat she's above average in? Probably enough to drop it below 67% at that point of the game since Steiner has Freya level Mdef until partway into floor 7.
...into the nightfall.

Team Tranquil - Okay, so Lucia can give the team status protection... don't think it matters all that much, though.  For the BoF1 fight, BoltX Songstress, Hold Eiko.  If Yuri's revival is on a L2 fusion... do I buy him having it at this time?  Not sure, so I'll assume he doesn't.  Yuri then OHKOs someone, probably Nina since she can hit him with Hold and revive Deis while the team has no offense.  Deis has non-elemental damage on par with BoltX (expensive though it may be), so Eiko eats that and goes boom.  Yeah, I'm not inclined to be generous here, and the team isn't clearing the floor without revival.  Fail.

Team Tide - Yeah, I don't think Garnet eats Explode on the first turn.  Is it enough?  Not sure.

Team Tonfa - This is tough for the team, the PS4 fight in particular.  They do not pass.

Hmmmm. Good point. This probably would tide it over for him. Granted, they'd also have to kill Chaz stat as well, and both he and Rudy would wreak hell against Garnet otherwise. He also has ACCURATE PS4 SLEEP, which could let him buy a turn against her.

Jo'ou: Where's Lulu coming from?  I don't think she's in the FFX lineup...

Anyway, on Team Tonfa....

Team Tonfa | Cloud, Chemist, Aika, FFX-2 Songstress
[Floor 7]
[Materia: Cover(M), Revive(M), All(M)-Barrier(M), All(M)-Time(M), Destruct(M), HP Plus]
*Cloud has been granted E. Skill Materia
*Songstress has been granted a Mythril Bangle (HP +60%)
Team Tonfa vs. Tidus, Wakka, Aeonless Yuna, Auron - Mm.  I'm not sure I'd see Yuna as being able to Dispel Delta Shield, or even Delta Shield eating Dispel at all - it's not quite an aggressive magic, which is what I'd see Delta Shield working against.  Anyway, without Lulu, the point is mostly moot.  Cloud hasn't mastered his HP Plus materia yet, but even with Armor Break I don't think they can kill Cloud in the opening salvo (Armor Break, Hastega, Quick Hit x2, Triple Foul?).  Cloud blocks Silence, then Bad Breaths them out.   How does Reflect interact with Songstress, by the way?  If they can kill Cloud outright, they still have to deal with Songstress I suppose.
Team Tonfa vs. Jecht and Seymour Flux - No idea.
*Full Heal
Team Tonfa vs. Orlandu, Meliadoul, Worker 8 - Orlandu goes first and breaks either Cloud's weapon or Cloud's armor depending on what materia is where.  This is a Very Bad Thing.  The split Tonfa wants here is probably something like "Enemy Skill vs. Everything else."  Alternatively, if Cloud is blocking instant death for the upcoming fight (I guess you can switch equipment at Full Heals?  Feels fair), Orlandu can break his accessory.
Team Tonfa vs. Rika, Chaz, Rune, Wren - Ugh.  Assuming Cloud is blocking ID and had all his non-Enemy Skill materia blown up, I think Rika Illusions the team, then everyone else blows up Songstress, and maybe somebody statuses Cloud in some way to prevent him from doing something nasty?  If Cloud has Enemy Skill, then he needs to be sleeped/silenced, but Songstress is open.  If Cloud's ID blocker was broken, then Rika IDs him, but...  I'm not sure that the other PS4ers are fast enough to kill Songstress here.  Hmmm.  Abstain for now.
*Full Heal
Team Tonfa vs. Profound Darkness and Altima - If Team Tonfa survives this far they can probably take this fight.

You're stuck with what you have for the floor. I'll make a specific notation of that in the rules.

It's also of note that Triple Foul inflicts Blind, Silence and Sleep. (Not sure if you missed that but what the hey)

Ah, Sleep too?  Hmm, and I'm going to presume that Sleeping characters can't Cover...  looks like it's in the hands of what FFX status blockers can do against Songstress, since I suspect she'll still be getting a turn even if Cloud gets Fouled out.

I don't see Tonfa's team getting past the first fight. Tidus can go first and haste the team, and, at that point, I'm pretty sure they can take out Cloud before he gets a turn. Triple Foul + Armor Break  + Quick Hit(s) hurts. Songstress and Aika can't do a whole lot after that. Maybe blind would hurt? FFX Blind hurts accuracy pretty bad, and with Delta Shield, no Holy for Yuna... Chemist can TRY to heal Cloud, but with Tidus and co. hasted, that's a wasted effort. Aika + Chemist + Songstress I don't think is enough to win from there.

Tonfa fails. In all fairness, that's a brutal floor. =P

EDIT: Tranquil passes. STILL thinking about Tide.

To Snowfire: Wakka doubles Dancer off the bat past FS Hastega. He can afford to hit both. However, Cloud is definitely blocking Sleep there, he wants to Cover Songstress.

Team Tonfa passes Tonfa's team is really coming into it's game now. Cloud has a variety of useful and effective materia and now has the incredibly awesme enemy skill materia that also has nifty abilities. Songstress pretty much has her entire skill set (I give her either Magical Masque or MP Mambo by this point), Chemist has stuff. Just lots of resources over all. I think Tonfa's cracked it.

As for my team it's far less slow and frail than it would be on the MT floor. My team starts off facing one opponent, I have three potential buffers (Eiko, Lulu, possibly Yuri depending on what you give him) enough to get Songstress protected before she dies (unless she's getting OHKO'd or something >.>) The floor is strong on magic based opponents, my team is strong on magic defence. My skills might be only ST but enemy damage is also ST. I have Eiko, Lulu and Yuri as healers, possibly Songstress as well if Carnival Cancan is viable by this point. Both Eiko and Yuri can revive. Yuri has MP draining + recovery with Mind Assault via a dark fusion (though I don't know if that's L3 only but I think it can be done before that) Midgame is end of disc one right? Lucia has Night Oil for MP regen before then (Night X Misty - small MP recovery for two turns) Night comes before Moon and Moon is end of disc one so. By now Lucia should have Ocean, Misty, Grass and Night. Nei can slow stuff down. Team is full of protect and shells (Eiko and Lucia's Grass X Ocean/Misty for medium boosts to DEF/MDEF for 3 turns) and Yuri's water/light/earth fusions all come with supportive buffs so unless I'm missing something there's plenty to keep Songstress protected. Team might not be fast and may not have access to much Haste to make it better (no idea when running shoes can be picked up from quan's dwelling and Jitterbug isn't till Floor 4 irrc. Yuri does have Gale however) but they can slow opponents down, Nei with song of serenity, Songstress with the slow and stop dances as far as I know.

Clarification for Orlandu vs. Cloud's weapon or armor: FF7 is a game where you strictly -cannot- not have a weapon or armor equipped. When dealing with weapon/armor breaking handicaps in the Battle Square, all they do is kill the stats of the equipment for the set of fights, not the materia in it.

Team Tonfa dies horribly, that PS4 fight is evil. Probably doesn't get past the FFT fight even, christ. Floor 8 is Neph's "I hate you and your team, and your mother smells as well" floor.

Team Tide | Sasarai (TER), Ephraim, Garnet, Arnaud, Duran(Lord Light->Dark)
[Floor 6a]
Team Tide vs. Fujin, Ull, Margulis, Landis- Eph targets Fujin after Arnaud speed downs her (Horrible splat), Margulis/Ull are worthless at high HP, Landis has nothing scary turn one.
Team Tide vs. Chaz, Lassic, Rudy, Zoah-I'm assuming his TER is fixed for the duengon? Correct me if I'm wrong. Sas is blowing a land of Eternity here, he can't handle Rudy/Lassic at the same time. Arnaud slows down Zoah to make sure he doesn't get in before LOE. Garnet summon+LOE= everyone but Lassic is DEAD. Duran uses his MT heal to counter whatever Chaz does, so the team can survive a Lassic turn and smite back.
Team Tide vs. Diekbeck, Albert Simon, Baal, Camus- Simon !!!'s Garnet, but is beat out by Sas's healing. Mmm. So he's probably goign to just Holy Chest the enemy team.  Diek drops into Invincible in that case. Sas uses Earthquake, Eph targets Simon and knocks him out of the fight. Thin the battl'es in hand at that point.
Team Tide vs. Gilgamesh, Lloyd (LoD), Menardi, Gares- Way too much fast MT damage here. The entire team is above average speed, even Gares should beat out Duran/Garnet/Eph at the least. Lloyd's best is MT, Gilgamesh's follow up blow should kill Garnet and if it doesn't Menardi can seal the deal.
Team Tide vs. BoF2 Ryu, Zeal, Lin, Jet Enduro

Team Tranquil | Yuri2, Eiko, Songstress, Lucia, Nei
[Floor 3a]
Floor 3a
*All MT is ST and targetable
Team Tranquil vs. Jowy- Assuming Eiko has revive. Anyway, Yuri 2 should have some form of revival at this point, so Jowy gets off one spell then is muted.
Team Tranquil vs. Deis 1 and Nina 1- Songstress has to die, BoltX time! Nei sings. Nina.. can hold Yuri or Eiko, but who she does doesn't matter. If she hits Yuri, Songstress gets revived by Eiko. If she hits Eiko, Yuri slaughters her after Song of Madness hits.
Team Tranquil vs. Aeonless Yuna and Lulu- Never mind that tough comment. Yuri gets OHKOed by Yuna, who is revived by Eiko. Songstress then Silences Yuna, and Lucia uses her status protection skill. Lulu can then kill one PC, but not both at the same time- probably targets songstress? Only problem is that Yuri is going before that and healing any damage done by Yuna. Nei slowly begins to whittle down the enemy team. It's a tough fight, but Lucia's MP restoration/status protection sees them through.
Team Tranquil vs. Demi and Wren- Can't OHKO both healers, death.
Team Tranquil vs. Dehuai- Status protection aromatherapy. Ugly floor but they should be able to swing it.

Really, though, Orlandu could just kill Cloud's MP, which would force Chemist to throw Ethers or Dancer to use MP Mambo.

*Nods* Definitely seconding you on both. Looking bad for CT's team, I need to look over what Lucia/Songstress can do at this point about the Yuna fight. If they can get out of that fight with everyone alive, it should be smooth sailing-  Nei+Yuri+Lucia=dead Wren/Demi in a hurry, and Dehuai's STness of doom does nothing when I know Yuri can cure status and I'm pretty sure Eiko/Lucia can help.

The issue is that I'm not even sure if Eiko gets Life that early. Phoenix is definitely floor 4, and I dunno if Eiko started with Life-teaching equips. *Goes to check a FF9 FAQ.*

EDIT: So, yeah, Eiko only gets equipment that teaches Life on -fucking disc 4-. Phoenix being floor 4 mitigates it a bit, but still, failure.

Huh?  Eiko learns Life through the Golem Flute, and that's her starting weapon.  Granted, I don't remember Life as being very good, but she still should have it...

At about 600 HP at level 16, it was reviving someone with about 80~ HP.
Later, at about 1100 HP at level 23, it was reviving somone with about 130~ HP.

But those are just the numbers that I got like, RIGHT NOW, so take these how you will. Or ignore me all together. =P

EDIT: When I was taking those two values, Eiko's magic was pretty low and didn't have any boosters. With a Magic Armlet, Magician's Robe and Magician's Shoes, at 1100 HP at level 23, it was reviving someone with about 280~ HP. Take as you will.

Tonfa: That's the Battle Arena being nice, though.  Orlandu's breaks are unfair; they nail everything that went with the equipment (lose Reflect from Reflect Mail, Haste from Setsimieon, etc.).  And just because FF7 forces you to have some weapon equipped for animation purposes doesn't mean it still isn't very easy to figure out how a character would function with no equipment - obviously there'd be no materia slots if you unequipped your weapons.

That said, though Cloud had his cool toys broken, I think I give you more credit in the PS4 fight than others, mostly because I remember averaging up the PS4 team (with temps) and Rune was below average.  Presumably Songstress can block ID from Chaz...   and Songstress is 1.05 avg. speed.  So only Rika and Chaz will be getting the drop on the Songstress here, though I suppose Rika could open with Illusion to functionally give her turn to Rune.  Ugh, this is where my unfamiliarity with PS4 hurts - Rune can use his Negatis against Delta Shield, right, because that's a Skill not a Tech?  If so, yeah, that'd be trouble what with Orlandu potentially breaking Cloud's ID blocker.

As for the final fight with PD/ Altima...  that still looks winnable?  Altima Grand Crosses Aika, fine.  Cloud unleashes the broken Big Guard for hastey/shelly/safey fun, Chemist tosses a Remedy, and Songstress Haste-Dances.  Aren't they pretty much set for whatever PD can throw at them?  Especially since they can dispense with Altima first before a dangerous form comes along?  I think Tonfa just might pull this one off...

Neprhite: Ethers are cheap though.  If the team can stabliize with Meliadoul statused out they can replenish his MP given enough time. Orlandu nukes Cloud's MP, then...  let's see.  Holy crap, Bad Breath costs 58 mp, and Hi-ethers only restore 50 mp.  This may be interesting after all.  Ah, but Death is 30 MP, and Orlandu for a longer battle he's trying to win will want to block Stop and Sleep to stop the Songstress.  I don't think he can block all of them...  wait, I guess he can?  Power Sleeve, Thief Hat, and some Sleep blocker.  But even then, Aika will make a play at confusing Orlandu.  Songstress disables Meliadoul (Orlandu can block both Stop and Sleep).  Cloud still waits.  Chemist hi-ethers Cloud.  Cloud...  I've got no clue about the hit rate on Frog Song, but I guess he tries it anyway.  Worker 8 hits Cloud, Orlandu finishes the job with a Holy Explosion, then Orlandu murders Aika, and the team's lost.  Still, for this to happen, Orlandu has to dodge Aika's confusion and a Frog Song from Cloud.  Probably better just to break Cloud's accessory / materia and go for a better shot at the win next fight.

FF7 MP curve is much higher than FFT MP curve, so 50 FFT MP is equal to more than 50 FF7 MP (closer to 100-150 I want to say?).

I suppose, but it's closer than it looks with the MP curve adjustment because this is Floor 8.  FF7 MP without MP-plus is a little less impressive.  Meanwhile, the Chemist's Healing and Ethers get worse and worse as you advance into the Postgame, since they're still fixed but max MP is going up.  I suppose it depends on how far along Floor 8 is - a level 60 Summoner could have, what, 400-500 MP or so?  While an FF7 character might have 500-999 depending on how much magic materia?  Though there are all the non-spellcasting classes in FFT dragging the superficial damage down, but yeah, all it requires is a minor boost upward for Cloud to be able to use Bad Breath in that situation.

It's not a huge deal anyway since I suspect the best strategy for the FFT fight will be for Orlandu to break stuff anyway.  Relevant if you see Cloud as keeping his materia after a break and you think that Tonfa can win even with a broken accessory in the next fight, I suppose, since then the "MP nuke and for a kill" strategy becomes viable.

CT/Tonfa: Quick heads up on what Lucia/Dancer can do at this point? *Points to the Yuna/Lulu fight*
