Team Dude | Purim, Rune, Jane, Marcus, Mint
[Floor 2a]
Team Dude vs. Lorenta, Jelanda, Shiho, Mystina
Team Dude vs. FF1 Knight, FFT Knight, PC Beatrix
Team Dude vs. FF1 Black Mage, FFT Wizard, Vivi
Team Dude vs. Lucius, Serra, Renault and Moulder
Team Dude vs. Lete River Ultros - Rune brutalizes the floor and can manhandle the boss fight due to having godly stats by now still. Since Purim now has healing, Ultros has to kill two people to keep up pace, and I think Rune could very well 2HKO Ultros with hitting that weakness. Marcus doesn't really hurt either.

Team Gate | Purim, Guv, Ursula, Porom, FF1 Monk
[Floor 2b]
Team Gate vs. Justin, Ryudo and Yuki - Status one of the men. Any one. Suddenly, the fight is perfectly manageable.
Team Gate vs. Cloud, Zidane and Tidus (No Sonic Steel / Caladbolg) - Zidane can't really do much at all. Ursula can status Tidus out and then, it's a showing.
Team Gate vs. Stahn (ToD), Reid (ToE) and Luke (ToTA) - Ursula statuses Reid, since he's the one with the offense. Luke and Stahn fail.
Team Gate vs. Ashley, Virginia and Jude - More statusin'. Man.
Team Gate vs. Malice Edna - Malice Edna would definitely be dangerous if she wasn't kinda not awesome at durability. Since she's not really OHKOing a party (although she can do horrible things if the team lets her get a couple turns), this is slightly academic. Probably still better than Jeremy, though.

Team Excal | Ramza, Angelo, Cecil, DW1 Hero, FF1 Monk
[Floor 2a]
[Ramza: Knight]
[Equipment: Mithril Sword, Bronze Shield, Iron Helm, Chain Mail]
[Item / Auto Potion / Maintenance]
Team Excal vs. Lorenta, Jelanda, Shiho, Mystina
Team Excal vs. FF1 Knight, FFT Knight, PC Beatrix
Team Excal vs. FF1 Black Mage, FFT Wizard, Vivi
Team Excal vs. Lucius, Serra, Renault and Moulder
Team Excal vs. Lete River Ultros - Knight, Excal? Why? O_o I guess the sheer durability of the team gets you through, but I can't help but wonder if FFT Knight isn't a poor choice to master in the dungeon.

Team Dude - Pass.  Marcus is still awesome and Rune is always awesome.  Purim no longer being dead weight helps too!

Team Gate - Pass.  Confuseables.  Yay.  Purim no longer being dead weight (and Gnome is easily floor 2 to me) helps too!

Team Excal - Pass.  Cecil has that nifty Deathbringer/Black Sword/whatever it's called now, and the combination of tankishness and healing is difficult to overcome.

Knight? He has to be going a physical route. It's the only thing I can think of, Battle skill is of limited use and AP badly trumps weapon guard.  Equip Shield has some theorical use? Maybe?

I figured that, but I thought the jobs were unlocked at a floor-by-floor basis instead of job-mastering basis in the dungeon. I could be reading Neph's info wrong, though. If so, Excal probably just wasted a job. But oh well, it's early and he can make up for it.

Snow: I'm guessing he's going more for the Item/Auto-Potion cheese with earlygame Knight durability to back it up. I doubt Knight is going to be a longrun choice for him.

Team Dude passes. Marcus and Rune do horrible things to floors 1 and 2, frankly.

Team Excal I'm not so sure about. The VP mages are dead average speed, so I know Angelo goes before them...but does anyone else on the team? I think Monk does as well...and those two SHOULD be able to KO Jelanda before she moves, stopping the PWS from coming out. But I'm not sure. If he can manage to shut them down before they get a PWS off, he should coast through the rest of the floor with Unkillable Ramza cheese. But I'm not sure if he does or not.

Team Gate passes as well. Snow's breakdown is pretty much exactly what I had planned when I picked this floor. Also, if you allow Gnome by this point, keep in mind that Stone Saber Boomerang physicals are hilarious. >_>

Gate: at least Angelo and Cecil should go first, since DK Cecil is actually fast. Ramza is slower, but DW1 Hero and FF1 Monk are both dead average, too, so it's a bit of a tossup. But, at least, I think that killing one of the mages (preferrably Mystina) is perfectly plausible and helps out a bit, since then, they can't deal assured MT death with Great Magics.

I forget that DK Cecil is fast. Yeah, him+Angelo should kill one mage. And Jelanda's the best one to kill. They can't PWS at ALL without her. Kill Mystina and they still get off a normal mage PWS which will hurt someone at least. Ramza/Hero/Monk gang up and kill Mystina right after the mages go, then Angelo and Cecil kill Lorenta as well. Heal up before killing off Shiho, move on. Okay yeah, DK Cecil being fast means he wins this.

Team Excal Passes

The Knight Progression is for two reasons.

First, the only other thing worth getting right now is Wizard, which I'm honestly not too keen on having at the moment given there are better ways to get Magical Blastiness.

Second, equip shield is a lovely little ability to just randomly be able to pull out when you need it.

Regardless, I think I agree with all of the arguments made so far.  Gate's the only one I'm concerned about because any two of H&E Cut, Sky Dragon Slash, and Dragon Slash are going to leave him in a bad way.  Dude continues to rule with Rune/Marcus cheese (though this is the last useful floor for Marcus) and Cecil isn't just Dark Knight, but he's also bringing the Deathbringer now, the ID sword of cheese.  Gonna miss that thing come Floor 3, but so it goes.

Excal passes thanks to DKCecil, Dude passes. Gate fails- Porom is not surviving the first ifght, and I think they run out of resources before the boss. If you let Yuki have SP this gets worse, Ursula/Porom both die horribly to any two combined attacks on that fight.

Gate...tentative no. For the first match alone, Ursula has to have both Mute and Confuse, needs to have Mute hit physical skills...or else from what I know, the team is facing an MT move from Justin, Ryudo, and Yuki. All of these moves are above average damage (And Purim doesn't have a status she can straight out hit with at this point). And two come out after Purim's healing, but before Porom. This team likely loses at least 2 members round 1. Not recovering.

All three pass. Marcus and Rune are still brutal, Stone Saber really helps Gate out, and DK Cecil is extremely effective. I'll take the multitarget floor, Neph.

Also, Excal, Marcus will still be useful. Purim's buffs (especially moon energy and Speed Up) work extremely well with FE characters.

Hmmm ... thinking Mental Break does evil things to Gate's team. Especially with MP already depleted from the other fights.

Edit - *scratches head* Ok think Snow's argument works ... Edna isn't durabe ... and yeah. Stone Saber is 70% hit rate according to the stat topic. Definitely see that as round one myself for the earlier fights. Probably being generous again but eh.

All three pass - things are heating up though!

For all the Gate passes, I really don't see how Stone Saber can even get him past the first fight (unless Ursula can help in a specific way). It takes a turn to use it. Ursula should go before Purim. Ryudo is fast, and his turn goes off. Yuki is 64 speed to a 66 average, and it seems really unlikely the Guv goes in between average speed (Purim) and 97% speed. Yuki does like 56% PC HP damage (MT), while Ryudo does about 47% PC HP MT damage. Unless Ursula can disable one, or Guv fits in that very small time slot (which he doesn't numerically using endgame stats with Angelo taken out), his team is looking at 3 members dying to MT if Purim doesn't heal.
...into the nightfall.

The main topic says that a SoM turn is 4 seconds and a spell takes 2. If you allow it she could cast both stone saber and cure water in the same turn. It would eat up about half of her mp though.

The stat topic also only assumes 1 spell a turn. Any view that gave 2 of 3 characters in a cast effective double-act spellcasting is something I'd find extremely questionable barring them actually someone having a real double-act skill.

I don't see them getting two spells per turn, but because of the short casting time, I DO see Purim getting off her Stone Saber before Ursula goes. And 70% status is certainly turn 1 for me.

Yeah...  thinking about it a bit more, I don't see Team Gate managing to status out two of the three Grandia Mains before they can destroy him.

On the other hand, since I don't see Yuki as starting with SP, to me they only need to shut down one, and I'm fairly sure they can handle at least that much.  I'd say all three pass.  I honestly don't even remember if Justin restored SP when healing, so they may only need to worry about Ryudo from me, but I'm assuming he does since I don't remember.

What is it you don't see me managing? Purim going before Ursula to cast Stone Saber? Or a 70% status hitting 2 out of 3 people turn 1? Or do you just not see me having gnome at all at the beginning of the floor?

All three pass. As for Excal's choice of being a Knight, I think he's doing that solely on durability standards, seeing as he has both Auto-Potion and Maintence equipped, which more than gets him through the floor for me.

Looking everything over, Gate.  I think I have to say I don't see Stone Saber going off before Ursula gets her turn.  If the casting time is two seconds, then it seems fairly clear that it'll go at average speed, which means Ursula is faster than the magic.  I'm also inclined to accept Yuki as starting with SP, given that I dislike interpretations that move away from what the game felt like, and Grandia 3 already suffers more than enough from the necessary loss of magic.
