Yep well OK says his mafia game isn't going to run, which leaves a lot of outcast mafia players including myself. So here's that game I promised earlier.

Anonymous Mafia!
Theme is Sci-Fi/Fantasy.
Pick a character from Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr Who, Lord of the Rings etc. Don't post that character choice here!
Just post in this thread if you would like to play. PM me your choice of personality.
Each player will have a new account to use specifically for this game, similar to the last anonymafia.

Game will be semi-open setup (list of possible roles). Role setup will be light.
Character persona will have no relation to role (random allocation).
Looking for a good number of players.
Normal Mafia rules.

If everyone from OK's Barkley game jumps over to this we can start virtually straight away!

Roleplaying encouraged but in no way mandatory.

I'd just like to note that having public signups somewhat defeats the point of anonymafia. Nevertheless, in.

I'd also recommend you contact Alex/Laggy and get the IDs of the fake accounts used in the past. Better than cluttering up the board with new ones.

Yeah I was going to do that but then realised I didn't have IRC installed. I'll send him a PM I guess (if anyone can mention it on IRC that would be great).

Few more details - looking for 11-13 players.
Light role set, no role-madness. Semi-open role setup.
I have had the setup checked by multiple mafiascum people & taken their opinions into consideration, so it should be fairly balanced (unlike last time, sorry about that).
Days will be short, 48 hours. The usual rules apply.

I suppose 6 mafiascum players can't be wrong about the setup. I still really think you should get someone local to vet it, though, since the mafiascum people play mafia very differently to here.

Power roles will be drawn purely from this list:

Cop (or insane cop, but not naiive or paranoid)
Doctor (regular doctor)
Godfather
Miller
Bodyguard
Roleblocker
Retired Cop
Nurse
Vigilante
Tracker
Watcher

The game will be role-light, not role-heavy.
As I've posted a complete list of possible roles, there will be no surprises and no role-madness.

Hopefully that guarantee can reassure some people enough to entice them into joining up!

I'm going to send out role PMs this afternoon. I'll also pass out anonymous accounts to those who have told me their preferred character choices.
If you have not yet told me who you want to be, then do so ASAP.

Game will start once everyone has confirmed their roles to me via PM (from their anonymous accounts).

I don't see the problem running this at the same time as Geass mafia, since barely anyone is in both games (Geass is made up of non-DL people mostly it seems).

May I suggest that those playing in Anon mafia games have thier Anon Identities use different forum themes then thier main account? Like if you use a dark background normally, use a light one for your Anon account? That seems like it might help a bit with making sure you don't post in the wrong identity.

I also recommend using a completely different web broswer. I use Firefox for EvilTom and Internet Explorer for GLaDOS.

Not playing, but I agree with not modkilling the people that messed up. This Mafia is a trainwreck, but a hilarious one. I'd hate for it to end early.

Especially enjoying John Freeman and the Terminator.
